Has our socialist President figured out a backdoor method for nationalizing the banks?

Did you see the stock market yesterday? The headline is that investors are worried about banks. Gee, ya think? Nothing like a government-owned banking industry to encourage the private sector. Imagine when loan approvals have a PC element.

Do you think that this had anything to do with it .. the fact that banks want out of this government TARP nonsense?

The big question on everyone's mind in regards to Obama releasing the Bush memos is ... why now? To build up the Obama image, that's why.

California regulators may rule that biofuels may actually be worse for the environment.

Tell me ... is this what Barack Obama meant by earmark reform? Seems as though things are politics as usual.

Here's some of the breakdown of the aftermath from the tea parties. The "political class" doesn't seem too thrilled about the protests.

The Supreme Court is going to decide whether or not prosecutors can be sued. Leave this up to the Democrats and they'll be sure to do the right thing for trial lawyers.

This shouldn't come as a shock to you, but men are bearing the brunt of job losses in this economy.

Just a bit of an update on one of the many ways Democrats seek to thank trial lawyers for their support.

In case you didn't know this already .... Lardasses contribute more to global warming!

Have you noticed the biggest news of the week so far? What that Miss USA contestant had to say about gay marriage.

And now for a list of the most popular words that the federal government has used on Twitter in the last month.

Well, since the media love to celebrate an anniversary .. .and this week Columbine seems to be the anniversary of choice, perhaps you ought to read this.

Read this article about Keith Olbermann and Jeanane Garofalo ... and then tell me these Liberals are sane. Garofalo on "24?" WTF?

What others are saying

  • Apologies
Ah, my bad for the earlier comment. Seems someone already beat me to the "Why Now" comment. Oh well. I am thinking like a political elite. Neato.
  • Common words
I'd be funny if the top ten words on Twitter were:

    10. Chump
    9. Chumpette
    8. Yours
    7. Up
    6. Pimpmobile
    5. Bite
    4. My
    3. Shiny
    2. Daffodil
    1. Ass

I think I know who has an account!
  • RE: banks
"Imagine when loan approvals have a PC element."

No need to imagine. That already happened.
  • Garofolo on 24
I have a hard time watching her on 24. I put up with it though because it has an excellent storyline this season and she's not onscreen very much. I do wish they would kill her character off though.
  • Can Prosecutors be sued?
No sympathy here. You cannot have a wrongful conviction without police, prosecutorial or judicial misconduct. Don't want to face the risk? In this economy there are lots of folks who will gladly do the job. Repeat after me: "Do you want fries with that?"
  • Garofalo
She's clearly a loon. In need of psyc help, even. But I like 24 and her role isn't pivotal enough to make me tune out. She obviously "acted" her way into the gig. Or, maybe, they cast her as a little inside joke thing. Either way, she's a basketcase that doesn't understand that half the country actually thinks counter to her thoughts.
  • @By Rockhound @ 04/21/09 09:34:07 AM
By implying you don't think there's conservative hypocrisy, you only undermine what would otherwise be a couple of decent points.

Do you honestly believe only liberals can be hypocrites? Lemme guess, you further believe everyone who doesn't share your precise level of conservatism must therefore be a left-wing whacko?

Olbermann and Garafalo are two individual liberal hypocrites and, like you, partisan hacks.
  • Janeane Garofalo
I beleive her father is a conservative. I wonder if she thinks he is some racist dope (who happened to be an oil executive at Exxon).
  • The Miss USA Non-Issue
We wouldn't be hearing jack if she had said gay marriage was A OK. Good for her for standing on what she believes in.

Frankly I think she's much hotter looking than Miss NC, too!
  • Imagine Loan Approvals with a PC Element
Isn't that what got us into this fix in the first place?
  • Networks + Global Warming
So what is it with the networks and the "green" movement? Has the government put in some sort of requirement that they do X amount of "green" public service announcements? I see this junk all over TV these days, and I find it especially annoying on "24." Or are they being proactive with the PSAs so they don't get penalized later for not having done them?
  • Smooth Operator
    Excellent post!

Oh and correction on mine, it's Huffington Post not Politico, my bad!
  • Tea Parties
The Rasmussen report said: "Among the Political Class, not a single survey respondent said they had a Very Favorable opinion of the events while 60% shared a Very Unfavorable assessment."

Number one, I object to "political class". Just keep trying to turn this into class warfare. Just say politicians, geez.

Number two, who did they ask in the political class? I know of many that attended so I am sure they would say "Very Favorable"!!!!

Also, glad to see the 15% (in the NON political class) who said they were not sure. THOSE are the ones we are out to educate.

I would ask all the leaders of any future parties to make sure there aren't any wackos (or plants) that are holding those stupid signs that the MSM just LOOOOVE to zero in on to the exclusion of all others.

Politico has 2500 "volunteer reporters" scattered around, getting pics and talking to people. They always manage to find the ones that are unprepared to talk to reporters and since they don't identify themselves upfront (they admitted that in one article) then the poor guys are at a loss. Tacky so called reporting but what can you do.
  • Axelrod unhappy about Tea Parties?
So let me get this straight.
La Raza organizing protests to support illegal aliens = Good for the country

ACORN staging protests and subverting the voter registration process = Good for the country

Various liberal groups protesting military actions in the war on terror = Good for the country

Code Pink disrupting congress and vandalising Marine Corp recruiting stations = Good for the country

People taking to the streets to defend the Constitution and runaway government spending and taxation = Unhealthy

By the way many of the same people at these protests were also protesting spending by the Republicans, but the media wasn't listening. They were too preoccupied with the Jeanne Garofolos of the world to give two flips about what conservatives were saying. Plenty of Republicans were getting booed at these events also.
Don't make the mistake of confusing conservatives with Republicans.
  • Hypocrisy 101
Well, folks, 'ol Olbermann and Garofalo did nothing but prove exactly whay it means to be a hypocrite. I would say liberal hypocrite but that would be redundant. To be more specific, Olbermann railed on how the Tea Parties were corporate organized. This is because being the good little liberal, Olbermann hate corporate America. The funny thing about this is that Olbermann is spewing this drivel from his television show on a cable news network that is owned by GE...one of the biggest corporations in the world so I guess it's OK to take a paycheck from a corporation just as long as that corporation has a liberal agenda.

This beings me to Garofalo. What makes this woman some kind of political expert boggles the mind but I digress on that point. What makes her a complete joke and a hypocrite is that this woman hates anything Fox(she loved to bash Fox every chance she got on her failed radio show), yet she has absolutely no problem accepting a paycheck from Rupert Murdoch. And can someone please tell me who thought it was a good idea to put her on 24?
  • And so...
    ...the cookie crumbles!

    1) Men still make 20% more than women for the same jobs nationally. Just like more senior people are losing their jobs than junior people, more males are losing them than women. Keep the cheaper employee. Also, second income females often choose low risk, stable jobs that allow for very even work hours since they are still the main care givers and house-slaves..oops, I mean home cleaners..and those are traditionally less volatile in a market downturn.

    2) Oh gosh, is JG really that much of an idiot? Now I have to not enjoy any movie she's been in. What a dork.

    3) Proscecutors getting sued, you knew it was coming. While I'm a big advocate of expanding the death penalty, speeding up appeals and making jails and prison horror shows to keep people from coming back all the time, even I admit that prosecutors aren't all riding white horses. Many of them rely on the past immunity from suit implied and know they are doing wrong. Malicious prosecution isn't just for TV anymore, eh?
  • Lardasses
Well, if you check the Atlanta Journal WWW page daily, you can always see on the front a story about a large person that lost XX number of pounds.

Their next biggest story of the day is to see if you can spot 5 changes between 2 pictures.

It gets worse (more useless) after that.

ajc.com is no longer one of my favorites.
  • She just plays one on tv
Apparently Janie is still doing her comedy routine. Unfortunately, she wasn't funny before and she still isn't.
  • Men bearing the brunt of layoffs
In addition to the reasons cited in the article, could it also be because women often earn less than a man in the same job - so get rid of the more expensive employee.

    Karma's a b, ain't it?
  • Boycott "24"
Looks like it is time to boycott "24". How anybody could put her on prime time, & expect us to take there show seriously. I could hardly watch 24 anymore do to the liberal skank "Gafho" & the Global Warming BS lines that they throw in! Conservatives for 24 Boycott!!
  • 24
I was a few hours behind on 24 on the Tivo...then I watched this interview the other day. I promptly sent Fox an e-mail that I would no longer be watching the show. I think she is partially right in that I am a kind of a racist...I can't stand greasy liberal skanks like herself and choose not to watch them on TV. Put that in your tea bag and steep it.
