You are going to get a big kick out of this column from the San Francisco Chronicle. The columnist is upset that "progressives" don't have a voice like that of the evil, hate-filled, right-wing talk radio!

How important are the first 100 days of a presidency .. and who in the Obama White House is making sure he makes his mark?

North Korea is holding two American journalists and is considering sentencing them to ten years in jail. You ask what they have done to end up in prison? That's not really an issue for countries like North Korea.

Henry Waxman is being stubborn and insisting on a 20% reduction in greenhouse gases over the next decade. Need we remind you that this has absolutely nothing to do with global warming?

According to our federal government's clean air laws, carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases officially "endanger public health and welfare." The far-reaching implications of this is huge, folks. A naturally occurring and essential gas in our atmosphere is endangering our health. This is about money. Watch.

In the wake of the DHS memo on all of us right-wing extremists ... we now come to find that veterans, white supremacists and "militia/sovereign-citizen extremist groups" have been under FBI investigation for months.

Speaking of that DHS report, Janet Napolitano just keeps digging herself into a deeper hole by trying to justify and explain the report. Here's the latest on what she has to say about veterans.

Barack Obama is going to join the push "to stop the marketing of credit in ways that addicts people to it." Yeah, because it is all the credit card companies fault and not the fault of the people who spend beyond their means. Besides .. now the government is in charge of all bank marketing practices.

Congress is reconvening, and at the top of their list of issues to tackle is government healthcare. Here's where we currently stand on this debate.

This is how Obama's Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel describes the Republican Party: "When you're the party of no, when you're the party of never, when you're the party of no new ideas, that's not constructive."

Obama administration officials just can't seem to understand why tea party protesters are so upset .. after all, "Obama just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people." Are you buying this, folks? Axelrod says the tea parties are "unhealthy."

Does Barack Obama have anything to do with the sudden decline in the amount of Americans who believe in this manmade global warming hoax?

For any of you who are familiar with the asinine amount of pork Jack Murtha is capable of bringing back to his district .. this story about the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport shouldn't surprise you one bit.

And now for a look at the best US cities for jobs in this economy.

What others are saying

  • Tea Party - Vote out ALL Incumbents
Are you suggesting the 50 Republicans that co-sponsored the Fair Tax be voted out as well?

I have no problem voting out incumbents given the fact I mainly vote libertarian.

We should let our election officials know that we want ballots that with one check of the box, simply states that we vote for any candidate regardless of party that is not an incumbent.

Most likely we won't get it but it will send a message.
  • Waxman's windmills
Waxman might as well legislate 20% less solar radiation in 10 years. What insanity! Oh, that we could treat these clowns like Emperor Norton I who lived in San Francisco in the 1800's. "Sure thing, Senator Waxman, we have cut our carbon output in half, and that salad you're eating is made form recycled car parts."
  • Hey Axlerod!
Perhaps it is not about the "95 percent" of people who they are trying to buy votes from.

Perhaps, ( and this is a stretch ) PEOPLE SEE THE GOVERNMENT ADDING TRILLIONS IN DEBT!

Jesus, how do I get a Gubment job?
  • CO2 and the EPA
I wonder if I have standing with the EPA to sue them and force cities like Chicago, LA, NYC to restrict the population per square mile.

After all, which emits more "dangerous" CO2, a Hummer, or a Million people stuffed into a square mile?

    Anyone?
  • JubTC
Exactly! How bout we just work on getting business growing so they can create more jobs (real jobs, not gubmint jobs) so that more Americans (taxpayers) can afford their own insurance?
  • SF Cronnies
Good Gosh - if you are looking to get angry over such stupid journalism, then look no further than this column. It radiates a huge amount of ignorance to his own field. If I didn't know better... it was people like him - who have slammed our current present down our throats. Oh, how we should heil the new prince of Socialism. Hmmm...I don't need Rush or Savage to get the truth. After all, I can read! And it does not take long to come up with... hmmm the President does not have a clue. And not getting enough coverage... everytime I watch tv, I have to shut it off.. because it is clearly for the ignoranuses out. If there was not cartoons for my kid or the history channel, I would not turn it on at all.
  • Steve D
Um, those reporters work for Current TV. Founded by Al Gore.

So what does that have to do with Republicans being out of power?
  • Best Cities for Jobs
Is anyone surprised that most of the cities that are tops in job growth are in low-tax, red states?
  • Healthcare - how about "you get what you pay for"?
Medical care is a right? In other words, doctors and nurses are our slaves, at our beck and call with no right to compensation for their labor. Oooops, no, that won't work.

Government is going to insure those without health insurance? Where will they get the money? THE TAXPAYER!

How about healthcare going back to the way it used to be: "you get what you pay for". If you can't pay, you don't get. Simple. Cheap. Also controls costs. Charge too much = no customers.

Might help control the silliness in medical expenses/billing today. You pay for xray technician to take the xray, then the radiologist to read the xray, then the physician to interpret the radiologist's report. Three bills, one service. Hmmm.
  • WSJ article
I find it ironic that the DHS and FBI used powers granted to them by the PATRIOT ACT to spy on the same people who supported the PATRIOT ACT.

Now, suddenly the expansion of gov't interference with private life is a bad thing....
  • Why Republicans are Out of Power
Today's reading list manages to combine three examples of why we're not being taken seriously any more:
    1. The poor imprisoned journalists. They crossed illegally into the most totalitarian country on the planet. Is anyone surprised? Facts? Who cares?
    2. FBI and extremists. Never mind the report was commissioned by the Bush administration. Never mind it says that veterans are only observed if they join hate groups. Who cares about facts if you can whip up paranoia?
    3. Health Care. If the private sector can do such a good job, what's stopping them? This has only been coming for 50+ years. It's been high profile for the past several years. It was obvious after Obama was nominated that this could lose the election for Republicans. Did someone forget to send me the memo that "conservative" means "hoping the problem will go away?" Why didn't Republicans sit down with the health care industry and come up with a plan that Obama couldn't match?
  • LH & Patriot
LibHater great news! Thanks. Woot woot!!!

Patriot, I think this is the beginning of a much bigger event. Every one I talked to is interested in voting out ALL incumbents! It's a forced term limit until we can make it official. Conservatives are no longer so tied to Republican, Libertarian or Independent. And the Dems that were there (that I spoke to) are also interested in kicking out incumbents.

All are also very interested in the FairTax. Steve King from Iowa was a speaker at Columbia, SC. He has a bill coming up in his state legislature for a state version of the FairTax. Many states are doing that. Once people see how well it works on a state level, it'll be much easier to get through at Federal.

It's exciting! 2010, here we come!
  • Tea Party Aftermath
Well, if you really want to know if it had an effect, I just found out that HR1207 "The Federal Reserve Transparency Act" has now gone to committee. If you want to make a difference, read up on it and contact your Congressman to make sure this goes to the floor for a vote. This bill wouldn't have gone to committee if our voices hadn't been heard.
  • Tea Party - What does it mean, really?
First, let me say that I agree with the Tea Party protesters 100%. Besides, sending a message to politicians that will give it some lip service, what will it accomplish?
Unless you can create a new political party or convince the Republican Party to support the Fair Tax AND pass an amendment for a balanced budget, nothing will change.

The Democrats that attended the protest will continue to vote Democrat and the Republicans will vote Republican while the politicians will ignore the message.

A real Tea Party protest is to tell the Republicans unless they publicly and unequivocally support the Fair Tax and a balanced budget amendment, you'll be staying home election day to protest their lack of leadership or vote Libertarian.
  • Health care
One part of the proposal would require insurance companies to not discriminate based on previous health issues. That alone will bankrupt insurance companies in a few years so we'll be bailing them out. Which means we will pay for it twice.
  • Jake
I had the same long and laborious discussion on Politico this weekend.

It's not just overseas, all of liberal land is doing their best to brand all of us racists. There were a few morons there with stupid signs and those are the only ones the media is focusing on which gives us a bad image.

And lefties are strongly trained to say the only reason we would be protesting is because we don't like the idea of a black president. They refuse to hear any of the REAL reasons.

However, I am comforted by knowing THEY are not our focus. I think we are getting through to other voters who will then educate themselves and be a big help in 2010. Cause we know that no one in Washington is going to take us seriously. And that's ok too! Cause it just gives us a list of who goes.

July 4th will be another round of Tea Parties, and Memorial we want to do something special to thank the service people. Especially since they keep getting dissed by Washington. And another round on Labor Day. Maybe more!
  • talk radio
Maybe the Libs can put that Janine Godawfulandaho on radio. That should drive more then a few radio stations out of business
  • Tea Party Questions
My concern is the Tax Tea Party movement is going to shrink into nothing but entertainment for Fox News. Is the passion still there to do more action or is this going to really turn out to be a one shot deal? Will this become a made-for-talk-radio-host-activity with us being dragged along for the merchandising bucks? Do working conservatives have the time or passion to continue this movement? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves.

FYI, read Glenn Reynolds WSJ article. It is nice to have someone actually researched something before publishing. My overseas friends in the UK have an impression that this was an "Angry American White Southern Man" reaction to President Obama's election. To which I replied, no it’s about spending and taxing, we don’t want to fall in the same mess you are in today!
  • No Jake
There are already plans for more Tea Parties.
  • Ask yourself
Are the Tea Party protests now dead, only to become an obscure footnote in the history of America, along with the term "Astroturf Movement”?
  • Greenhouse Gas
Cut emissions of carbon dioxide by 20%: Mr. Waxman (and the rest of the bureaucrats) are not allowed to exhale.
  • Guns and ammo
In case you think "oh they aren't going to mess with the 2nd amendment, you're just being paranoid". Check this out:

    http://www.theshootist.net/2009/03/plowshares-beaten-back-into-bullets.html

Cutting off the source will have the same effect.

"There's always more than one way to skin a cat."
  • Global Warming Scam.
The #1 cause of green house gas is DEFORESTATION. Of course the idiots in Washington are hoping that you don't know that.

STOP cutting down our trees!!!!!!! They not only absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen they provide shade and cooling.
