Atlanta's Tea Party had a great turn out! The FairTax was well represented. Check out the photo gallery including pics of The Baby Jesus!

Janet Napolitano is standing by the DHS report on rightwing extremism. Meanwhile, House Republican leader John Boehner says he wants the Homeland Security Department to apologize to veterans for the report.

Did you hear? Al Sharpton calls the Islamic goons hijacking ships off the coast of Africa "so-called pirates." Otherwise known as Somalia's "voluntary Coast Guard." The Muslim pirates are black. So's Sharpton. He will, therefore, give them a break.

We have yet another czar to add to our list in the Obama administration. This time we are getting a "border czar" to oversee efforts to end drug-cartel violence along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Did you know that our Defense Secretary Robert Gates denied permission use the Pentagon's most powerful sea-based radar to monitor North Korea's recent missile launch? On orders from Obama?

North Korea has asked four U.S. inspectors working at a North Korean nuclear plant to leave.

Jonah Goldberg explains how to solve the pirate problem.

How is Obama being received on the world stage? Here's what French President Nicolas Sarkozy has to say ....

The EPA has chosen the lucky 50 polluted sites that will be receiving $528 million of your tax dollars to be used as "economic stimulus."

Barack Obama is still trying to noodle through some sort of compromise on government healthcare.

Get this ... Iran is complaining to the UN Security Council about Israel's threats to launch an attack.

Pennsylvania had a new $5 million tax-credit program to encourage companies to hire ex-convicts. Take a wag at how many companies took advantage of the tax credit.

Here's an example of college students who are at that age where they think they know everything. Take a look at what happened when Tom Tancredo tried to give a speech at UNC Chapel Hill. If these students could be identified they should be expelled. Never happen.

United Airlines is going to start charging more for widebody passengers.

Just what we need ... Barack Obama's dog is going to be the subject of a new children's book.

What others are saying

  • Pessimistic about the state of our country
I think it's fairly safe to say that in general, I hate people. They're stupid and they all mob towards the easiest route. That is, living off of money that rightfully belongs to someone else who earned it, and was forced to give it away.
  • UNC
How is it that I served in the military fighting against terrorism, believe in limited government, support the right to bear arms, and border control and I am cosidered a right-wing extremist that is likely to result into a terrorist? Yet these students at UNC cause criminal damage to property, shout obscenities at a guest speaker, interupt an educational environment to the point pepper spray was used and they don't even get expelled from school. This is a backwards way of running a civilized society.
  • Hard to tell the news from the funnies these days.
Al Sharpton probably thinks the crips and bloods are neighborhood watch groups.

It's nice to know "terrorist" and "terrorism" still have a place in dp and government language. Unlike islamic or marxist terrorists, thankfully 'rightwing' terrorists only get one chance to kill Americans. I'm for executing all of them, but the dp can tolerate the vilest, as long as they hate America and the free market.

Hussein didn't want to make lil kim uncomfortable during his test, and he's kicking out the inspectors because he know hussein will do nothing to hinder his nuke or ICBM programs.

'Border czar' a nice $60K+ a year position doing nothing for another useless bureaucrat to duplicate the head of the border patrol.

Why a swastika flag athe UNC protest t-shirt doc? Nobody would bat an eye at a red star or hammer and sickle flag? The left can't argue against conservative ideas so they must shout them down and drown them out with mindless lefty slogans.
  • UNC Chapel Hill
If you go to the UNC Chapel Hill website there is a student directory. Search for Tyler Oakley. His e-mail address is listed. Hey, a public record. Send him a note on what a fine outstanding citizen he is. Right!!
  • Pirates
Why can't we use our Predator drones to watch the coast line for boats going after our ships. They can read the time on a watch from 10,000 feet. When they see a boat with armed "So-called Pirates" they can neutralize them with a Hellfire missile before they get within a quarter mile of the ship.
  • You're right FoxyRob, it's chilling.
So where were you the past eight years when the exact same was happening, mm? When anyone who disagreed with Herr Bush was labelled a "traitor" by the right? When Mann Coulter and others said that liberalism (a dissenting political ideology) was a "mental disease" that needed to be wiped out? When all the sychophants in congress and the whitehouse were chanting Seig Heil while signing into law the greatest expansion of the government's ability to spy on Americans without warrants in the history of the nation? When the government was imprisoning people without trial, torturing them, ignoring evidence to the contrary, and then claiming that they were immune to judicial oversight because of some Nazi-esque "state secrets priviledge"?

Remember kids, it's only fascism when you are the target. When you're the one doing it, it's patriotism.

Man, this DHS report and the right's reaction to it is full of weapons-grade lulz. Fascists complaining that fascism is upon them.
  • Obama's Dog
I think that we should all be calling the Obama-mutt Trey....as in the third....after all, his name is the President's initials...what kind of a egomaniac name's his dog after himself?
  • Right wing extremist = taxpayer
I never realized that by being one of the few (fools) that actually PAYS taxes, I'm considered a right wing extremist terrorist threat. I guess they're worried I might stop paying taxes in full and be like political appointees and 40% of the general public. They ought to be.
  • Coming Soon: Rightwing Extremism
Just maybe Mrs. Napolitano is concerned about the next Timmothy McVeigh. You know a vet, fascinated with guns and the Second Amendment, anti taxes, anti government, anti etc. Which is all ok until you mix it in with a psychopath. Just maybe she is trying to protect us?
  • Pennsylvania
There were no takers because the government is hiring the convicts as fast as possible.
  • So-called Pirates
I think I just saw a giant white rabbit run by. Al Sharpton is not in touch with reality. I mean that literally. The pirates are armed. They seize ships. They then demand ransom. The presumption is that the hostages are in danger. How are these goons not pirates? "Voluntary Coast Guard"? Where and when did they accuse the crews of any crimes? Did they make arrests or take hostages? WHY!? does anyone still listen to this racist loon?
  • UNC/Tancredo
UNC - from zenith to nadir in eight days. From one Tyler who is a hero to another Tyler who is an idiot. If the room hadn't been full I would have been there. Glad I didn't have to see this.
  • CNN "reporting"
Neal, that guy being "interviewed" was more articulate than most self-identified obama voters who can't even identify the name of the VP they voted for.
  • DHS Report
Silence dissent through intimidation. Portray those who disagree as dangerous extremists. Persecute "enemies of the state". Isn't this EXACTLY what fascists do? I am truly frightened. This is chilling. God help us all.
  • Boarder Czar
Who will be the Uber Czar?
  • Amazing..
The turnouts these tea parties are getting. Thousands upon thousands across numerous locations...yet barely a peep by the MSM.

Yet a gathering of fools outside of the
AIG executive homes get monstrous coverage. So much in fact the media outnumbered the protetesters by 3:1.

    Wake up America.
  • UNC
"UNC graduate student Tyler Oakley, who had organized the protest, said he regretted the broken window but not silencing Tancredo. "He was not able to practice his hate speech," said Oakley. "You have to respect the right of people to assemble and collectively speak.""

Sure. And the best way to respect that right is by protesting against it. I hope this Oakley kid realizes how uneducated that statement made him seem.
  • Ex-Con Program
So the guy that initiated the tax credit program to hire ex-cons' name is Mayor Nutter...

    Coincidence?
  • Ashamed to be a Tar Heel
It is such a shame that so soon after winning the men’s basketball championship and having something that you can be proud of as a university, we now have something to be equally ashamed of. I’m embarrassed to be a Carolina graduate today and I hate it. The sad thing is, anyone who has been to UNC-CH as a visitor or as a student knows that this is not the first time something like this has happened.

But how do the “champions” of free speech and change react to formal discussions and events on campus? We’ve seen events featuring conservatives like John Ashcroft disrupted by hecklers protesting what they call the “racist war.” The lobbing of pies at a member of the Log Cabin Republicans, a gay Republican organization, and the subsequent pulling of a fire alarm during the speech was particularly mature as well. Neal would particularly love an event I attended on campus featuring John Stossel where he was practically laughed and booed offstage after he discussed how much more efficient the private sector is in handling things than government.

Try this as a conservative protesting a liberal event, however, and you’ll be run off campus while being called a racist, sexist, or promoter of “hate speech.”

I went to Carolina thinking I was fairly liberal in my thinking, and actually was a registered Democrat at the time. I’ve never changed my mind so fast. My experiences of those four years made my conservative beliefs so much stronger as they were challenged so often by UNC’s large liberal base.

To Mr. Tancredo or any other conservative speaker approached by UNC to speak at an event, please do. There are many liberals and conservatives on campus more than willing to hear your message and engage in a discussion with you. Carolina has much more class that what has been seen this week, and I hope that speakers whose events have been disrupted by some of the members of our university are able to come back and speak in peace.

But bring your flak jacket just incase.
  • Baby Jesus
Never heard the story here. When & Why did Neal start referring to Sean Hannity as "The Baby Jesus"?
  • Boehner
Notice that this clown doesn't demand an apology for calling the rest of us right-wing extremists. Apparently, the GOP agrees that if you believe in the 2nd or 10th Amendment, lower taxes, smaller government, less spending, etc., you are a right-wing extremist & should be watched by the government.
  • junkemale22@gmail.com
Contact UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp at chancellor@unc.edu
or Professor Alpha Cravey at cravey@unc.edu
  • Janet Napolitano
In an interview on Fox News this morning, I couldn't help but notice that Napolitano used the word "terrorism" when referring to the heinous acts of Timothy McVeigh. Is it only a "man-made disaster" if it's committed by a jihadist? The DHS report was clearly a political document, not a homeland security briefing. She makes me absolutely sick.
  • UNC Chapel Hill
you know what i'd do? i'd join the protesters. me and my Swastika flag. i would hold it up, proud, and screamed whatever they were saying.

    can you imagine their horror?
  • Great turnout in Atlanta!
According to Scott Slade, the "crowd estimates were as high as 20,000". So you *almost* managed to pull 0.5% of the metro Atlanta area population!

Good work, silent majority! Maybe one day you'll break 1% of the population of a heavily conservative state! But to do that, I guess you'll have to have Hannity, Coulter, Pillbaugh, and Boortz all at the same time to draw a bigger crowd of loyal fanatics.
  • double standard?
On my local news this morning I saw the 2010 Focus' will have a "key" that will allow parents to program the car for music volume and speed. They had teenagers test the car and they all said they wouldn't like it because they wouldn't want their car telling them what to do. I wonder if they are as concerned about their government telling them what to do?
  • Sec. of DHS Janet Napolitano
I have a very serious suggestion for Sec. Napolitano. If you want to find extremist religious groups in the USA that are trying to overthrow the government, try zeroing in on the known al-Qaeda cells that have been operating here since the Clinton Administration! Eight years of GWB's War On Terror didn't seen to dislodge them! Get to work!
  • Karl Barx
    is getting his own book?

I wonder; who will do his taxes? Timmy G?
  • Sharpton
I don't know which is worse, these black bullies or the white cowards who care what other white cowards would think if they objected to letting 12% of the population continue to dictate to the other 88%?
  • Coming Soon: Rightwing Extremism
Janet Napolitano ought to realize that by saying non-Obamamaniacs are rightwing extremists, DHS may very well create the very thing they fear.
