This is a day-after-Easter edition of Nealz Nuze. In other words .. not much work done yesterday, and I didn't exactly get up early this morning. If you're a paid subscriber I'll listen to your complaints.

Paid subscribers .. now there's an idea. I'm sure this would go over well in this economy.

There's talk about bringing one of these Muslim pirates back to the US for trial! What? And afford him all of the privileges of our Constitutions? How about a summary execution? Live in a US prison would be paradise compared to his life in Somalia.

Is it any wonder Somalia is ungovernable? Any Somali capable of anything resembling leadership is already living in the United States. They were living in the Atlanta area, then a radio station in Atlanta told them that there was a town in New England where they could get monthly checks just for being there. The migration was on!

Do you know why Obama's half-brother didn't make it here to the inauguration? Seems he has a history of being a sex predator in Great Britain. And Jimmy thought Billy was embarrassing.

Last week the reports were that the Muslim pirates were "annoying" Barack Obama. Perhaps its not a good idea to annoy the president.

Israeli President Shimon Peres says that if Ahmadinejad doesn't start to come around Israel is going to attack. I guess Peres wasn't listening last week when Biden warned him not to do that.

DC's Mayor is considering taxing residents for street light usage. Across the nation local officials are looking for more ways to get into your pockets. There's a "crash response fee" in Winter Haven, Florida. Like I've said before, there is absolutely no limit whatsoever to the hunger politicians have for your money.

The unionization-through-intimidation bill is still a hot item in Washington. If the government-educated dumb masses in this country actually knew what was going on here the bill would be dead. Democrats and union goons know this. That's why they gave it this asinine "Employee Free Choice Act" title.

Do you want to join a union at your workplace? If not, you have better begin paying attention to what's happening in Washington. Soon you may be put into a position of either signing that union petition or having your car vandalized ... or worse.

What others are saying

  • DC Street Lights
"DC's Mayor is considering taxing residents for street light usage."

Perhaps the residents will shoot them out!
  • Paid Subscribers
Oh, please, please, please! I'd pay for podcasts!!
  • Biden on Israel and Iran
The US should neither display strength nor weakness with regards to the possibility of Israel attacking Iran. I believe that a similar logic can be applied here as well as to the Chinese-Taiwan dispute.

US presidents (except for the slip up by that idiot George W. Bush) have traditionally not taken an official position on whether or not the US would defend Taiwan if China ever invaded them. We know that China is willing to go to war over Taiwan to prevent formal independence. If we say the US will defend Taiwan, then Taiwan will use that assurance to declare their independence and provoke further conflict. If we say that we won't defend them, then China will have no deterrent against aggression. The best policy is for US presidents and Senators to say that all options will be taken into consideration, and then just shut their mouths.

This Israel-Iran situation is similar. The US shouldn't take an official policy stance on a hypothetical scenario, like an Israeli attack on Iran. We should leave both Israel and Iran guessing as to what we would do, and hope that this uncertainty acts as a deterrent against stupid moves by both sides. As a private citizen with no position in the US government, I can state my own personal opinion. I don't think the US should back up an Israeli attack. Israel is more than capable of handling that situation on their own, and we don't need to deal with that mess.
  • G'ment fees run amok
The fee that they charge for 'storm water run-off' is for the storm sewer system to keep that water from pooling and going into your basement.

It's kinda like insurance. Or a collection fee.

You're not paying for the rain water. You're paying to keep the rain water OUT THERE instead of IN HERE.
  • Tomas
How in the world do they calculate something like that? I'm guessing it's a flat fee? Crazy time for sure.
  • Government "Fees" Run Amok
In our town of Fishers, Indiana, the town government has added a fee to our water and sewage bill for "storm water run-off." This means we are paying for the rain water that runs off our lawn, down our driveway, and into the storm sewer.

I'd like to see a class-action suit against the town to force them to quantify every pint of water that runs off every piece of private property in their jurisdiction.

  • Israeli President Shimon Peres
    FINALLY.

Quit telling the world you're going to attack Iran and do it. And please don't ask us for help when you do so..
  • Mr. "Make Up Your Mind" and The Constitution
I just read "Make Up Your Mind" below, and it brings up a question I've had, and perhaps Neal has addressed it - I understood the US Constitution is meant to protect the USA's CITIZENS from the Government, but it appears some people, such as Mr., believe it protects ALL PEOPLE from the US Government. Is that really so?

Ben "stirrin' the pot" from Norcross
  • Alaska Volunteers
to set up a detention center in Barrow, Alaska... [Winter temps average... oh... minus 20 or so]
  • Make Up Your Mind
Come on Boortz, make up your mind. Does the Bill of Rights outline our inalienable rights as humans that the government can neither give nor take away, or is it a bunch of privileges that the government gives us?

Sometimes due process really sucks, and we would like to just kill everyone who gets in our way. But if we are to take freedom and inalienable rights seriously, then we have to get over our emotions and offer due process even when we really don't want to.
  • Paid Subscibers
I would be willing to pay for your show downloads in this economy still, the office build blocks any AM signals and most FM. So I can only listen to you occasionally, and I wouldn't mind paying to get to listen to your whole show.
  • Employee Free Choice Act
Neal, perhaps it's through kindness, but again use too many ems in the term "masses".
  • Government Money Grab
Neal, perhaps you should look into what Collier county is doing down here in SW FL. I was reading in a local paper (not the NDN) that there is now a $75 permit that is required just to replace your hot water heater.

    Aren't they so wonderful!?!?!?!?!
  • "Employee Free Choice Act"
"Employee Free Choice Act" ... now that's funny ... socializing the work places of America.
  • Glued to the Masters
Love your show Neal, just one thing though. The next time you wish to hammer on those of us who really enjoy our sports in this country, remember your remark about being 'glued to the Masters' when the word came down about the pirates (Islamic terrorists). Sports are an easy thing to get caught up in. It doesn't make us any less patriotic or informed though. Just a thought.
  • Golf and CORIOLIS effect: You're pulling another one.
I was about to write to WSB management saying I'd rather hear you talk about plying airplanes than about golf, but then you said how those who learn golf in the Southern Hemisphere have to relearn those long drives because of the Coriolis Effect. This sounded like another "dryer than turns your shirts rightside out", so I check it out and found the extent of the effect for a (approximate) 250 yard drive (forwards to a book page in Google Books):
    http://tinyurl.com/ckv3v4
It's 5cm, or 1/5th of an inch. If that bothers any golfer, he is SCARY good, and can also compensate for the several inches that a light breeze would move it as well.

Tell us more about that passenger with only a single-engine pilot license landing that bigger plane when its pilot went Tango Uniform! That's a great story (it's also true, but that doesn't take away from its entertainment value).

Ben, "sensitive BS meter" from Norcross :-)
  • restoring order in Somalia
This is just another example of why anarchy is impossible to achieve in the modern world (much like communism). Since the UN-backed TFG has no power, its functions have been replaced by other governmental entities, such as the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab terrorists, the racist Xeer system, and local autonomous governments like Somaliland and Puntland.

I blame Ethiopia for escalating things in Somalia. I approved of their decision to invade in 2006, but I was furious when they defeated the ICU insurgency, but negotiated "peace" with the surviving Islamists instead of finishing them off. Now their splinter faction Al-Sabaab has come back as an even greater threat, and Ethiopia just leaves for someone else to clean up the mess. I know this was in the last days of the Bush administration, but he should have threatened to cut off humanitarian aid for Ethiopia if they withdrew.

It's a bad situation there, and the US may very well have to get involved to prevent Somalia from becoming an Al-Qaeda safe haven. Hopefully we will have learned a lesson from Iraq and Afghanistan, and not attempt a direct occupation, choosing instead to reinforce security in Somaliland and Puntland, and only going after selected targets.
  • Obama's brother
This is Barack's fault. His brother wouldn't have to sexually assault 13-year-old girls if Barack would just openly recognize him as his brother. Bro would have to assault pre-teens just to shake them loose. He'd be in teeny bopper heaven.
  • **IF**
And this is a big IF, if the UN would do this right and then execute the guy, I would LOVE to see that pirate put on public world trial. But they would not do it right.

Sure would like to get at the leaders who put these guys up to this. We will see more actions.

I just love me some Navy Seals!!!
  • Pirates
Just put him back in the lifeboat with his buddies and leave it tied to the back of the Navy ship for a week or so.
  • Please Neal
Don't start praising Obama. The rescue of that captain was NOT his doing. He was only agreeing to what was politically expedient.

So your comment about not annoying the president strikes me as if you believe by annoying him, the annoyer will be killed. This was a victory for the US Navy and the SEALS.
  • Pirates
Didn't they hang pirates or make them walk the plank? I don't remember any of them brought back to the U.S. for a "trial". Will "President" Hussein Obama have the kahonies to do what needs to be done?
  • paid subscribers
I'll pay if you'll offer good customer service. Might want to discuss this idea with Belinda first.
  • He's a PIRATE!
I'm sure the set of all pirates includes every religion known to man (and maybe a few more). They're just pirates. Are the old maritime laws still on the books? If so, all that's need is a yardarm and some rope.
  • "Perhaps its not a good idea to annoy the president."
Yes, it's obvious that freedom annoys the president too.
  • Chappaquidick Kennels
The irony of Ted Kennedy raising Portuguese WATER Dogs is only overshadowed by the tackiness of naming one of his dogs Splash.
  • Paid Subscriber
If it's good enough for Rush (The Godfather) it's good enough for the Talkmaster!!
  • Bringing the pirate back to the USA
This pirate is 16, according to Fox News, and I do not want my grand-kids paying to keep this guy in bologna sandwiches until he's 75! Keep him in Kenya where they'll hang him.
