Well .. it all ended too late for me to include in my notes, so I guess you'll just have to tune in the show today to hear my pithy comments.

How to grade Obama on his First 100?

Easy.

  • If you love government and are afraid of freedom, you give him an "A"
  • If you love freedom and fear government, you give him an "F"

Simple as that.

What others are saying

  • prezbo
I now have the proper name for prezbo.
I call him the PP, it stnds for the parasites president. Fitting!
  • and then there's...
And then there's the actual thinking people who love freedom, and see government as a tool that can be used to protect our rights and freedom and improve our nation and standard of living, but not one that should control our personal lives. Some might even think that our rights and prosperity are more important than those of large corporations, that the government doesn't always do everything wrong. Maybe even that a possible 3% tax increase on the extremely wealthy in light of huge debt and a pressing need for stimulus as well as paying for Bush's war won't destroy the world. Or that it isn't their business when people want to do something that doesn't harm others, even if it violates personal or religious rules. These people tend to base their choices off of information and reason rather than kneejerk ideology.

As one of them, I'd give Obama a B, so far. He needs to focus on more immediate infrastructure based stimulus, as well as prosecute the torturers, and give us more of the transparency he promised, among other things. He's not had a bad start, but we need to see much more to even just reverse what Bush did to our nation.
  • Ivan
You really gotta get a blog man!!!
  • Bush = Obama
This is coming from an Independent Conservative. There is a reason they are so similar. The same people that puppet-mastered Bush are now at the strings of Obama and it ain't Congress. It should be BLINDINGLY apparent that out politicians are not in control of our government. Dirty corporations, defence contractors, and corrupt special interests have nearly complete control now. They have been building toward this for decades. If you deny this you are now the nutjob not the conspiracy theorists you beat down on for so many years. Our country no longer belongs to us. It now belongs to a small group of elitist oligarchs who are literally disgusted by the hordes of the unwashed. This is the truth. STOP WITH YOUR LEFT VS. RIGHT BULL****. That is exactly what they want us to do. As long as we are at each other's throats we won't go after the ones really in charge. How much longer can this go on? Why can't we come together and get to the root of this evil? We can break ourselves free of the shackles they have put us in, but it requires us to open our eyes and our minds. We need to identify those in Congress and in Washington that are sympathetic or even complicit with these elitists and use their now corrupt system against them. If we do not I fear that in short order our entire way of life will change for the worse. That said though if you disagree with me I'd love to hear your comments. Just as a disclaimer I'd like to say that I don't think that all corporations are dirty, but I do believe that there are a bunch with political connections that hurt the American people rather than help.
  • Stan Gayble -
    >>>I personally would vote liberal just cause I know the klan and neo nazis vote republican. Pissing them off means more to me than paying an extra cent of tax on a snickers bar. >>>If the republican party was to split and get rid of the people who focus on abortions, no beer on sundays, and stem cells, and create a party focused on lowering taxes and smaller government, they would definitely get some switchovers from the democratic party.>>Once conservatives get their priorities straight, then I will take them seriously.<<<<

Typical lib. In other words, once we agree with the liberal braindead drivel, then, and only then, we will be taken seriously.

BTW, what are the priorities of you moron libs?
  • Stan
When you set yourself up with absolutes, you come off looking like an idiot. I'm sure no klan member or "neo-nazi" has ever pulled the lever for a Democrat (sarcasm)... just like no pedophile, hippie, or union member has ever voted for a Republican. The media has been largely responsible for creating an environment in which people adopt a herd or clique mentality. It's a shame more people don't understand that the closest we can get to contentment in electing officials to represent us is to choose based upon who most closely supports and reflects the majority of our core values. I don't see candidates as Democrats or Republicans when I go into the voting booth. I do see them as Conservative or Liberal, but there's still a lot of gray in the decision making. I get so sick of hearing people justify why they chose candidate A or candidate B based on the same kind of reason you gave. THAT kind of thinking is why we are in such a mess right now, and why we are so divisive. It's time to dust off the Constitution, take out the trash in Washington by voting out EVERYONE, and starting over. But now that people are so indoctrinated into believing the kind of BS you post here daily, I'm afraid we'll just put more morons and criminals in their places.
  • Re: Arch Stanton
    >>>Good comments, but my I suggest that you use the moniker Club-a-Statist instead?<<<

Good point, and will consider a name change. If Prez OBumble can have numerous name changes from Barry Dunham to Soetoro to Hussein to Obama, then why can't I.
  • Not buying it Stan
First off, take note. Boortz and most of his listeners (myself included) are Libertarians, not Republicans. You most recent post, however misguided, gives me hope that you may eventually get on the path to enlightenment (if my conspiracy theory is wrong and you're not just a troll). If you pay attention to this site, you'll find that most of us agree that the Republicans are not much better than Democrats when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Those of us who are "socially liberal" (pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, etc.) need to wake up and realize that national defense and the economy are the most important issues. Without economic freedom and the freedom from outside threats, the rest is meaningless.

Oh how I wish Obama's tax policies only resulted in "an extra cent on a Snicker's bar".

I still think you're a conservative posing as a liberal.
  • Gee Stan
Conservatives are so concerned about whether a liberal like you takes them serious NOT.

Yes the KKK and NeoNazis are despicable but such a small fraction they are really not worth bothering with. And there are issues so much bigger than abortion.

You will be paying much more than an extra nickel by the time Obama and his buds in Washington are through. And you will lose more of your freedoms than anything you imagine conservatives can take away.

Can I get one point through here? The Republican Politicians are a bunch of losers and no longer represent conservatives. We need to get rid of them. But I'm sure the liberals would love to see us split in two, that would mean they would have control for decades. So. What we gonna do?
  • let's just do what Stan wants
"Once conservatives get their priorities straight"

Oh, I see. Once conservatives get Stan Gable's priorities straight ...

    Thanks, but no thanks.
  • Government through slogans from TED NUGENT!
Jay quoted Janice Joplin with "Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose."

And he probably believes Janice Joplin was a wise political guru.

I prefer this quote from the brilliant Alice Cooper:

“If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are.”

On the other hand, Alice Cooper also said this (about Britney Spears):

"My audience loves to see Britney get her head cut off."

... which may indeed be wise and true, though politically irrelevant ...

…and, ironically, also seems to support his own criticism of rock star intellectual credibility in the first quote … Whatever.

The point is, if you’re going to base your political philosophy on rock star sound bites, you should follow the moral wisdom of the magnificent Ted Nugent. A few Ted Nugent quotes:

“Do you want to feel good, or do you want to do good?” - Good advice for BOzo, no?

“War is good when good survives and evil is crushed. If you don't crush evil then evil will get you.” - More good advice for BOzo.

“If you want to save a species, simply decide to eat it. Then it will be managed - like chickens, like turkeys, like deer, like Canadian geese.” - Advice for BOzo’s EPA.

“There are hundreds of millions of gun owners in this country, and not one of them will have an accident today. The only misuse of guns comes in environments where there are drugs, alcohol, bad parents, and undisciplined children. Period.” - Advice for the anti-gun crowd.

“I have busted more hippies' noses than all the narcs in the free world.” - Good advice for BOzo’s Justice Department.
  • No Fail Policy
    Mr. Boortz,

Perhaps you are not aware, but we no longer give failing grades. If you give Prezbo a zero, he may lose interest in subsequent Presidential work. Thus, you are encouraging more bad behavior. Who knows, he may drop out entirely and then what would he do? We can't risk bruising his sensitive ego at this precious stage in his development.

Mr. Boortz, consider falling in line with the rest of Public Education in this country. Don't hurt his feelings, pat him on the back and encourage him. Otherwise, who knows what he'll do?
  • Jay stepped in it this time
Well, maybe you learned something from the responses. If you didn't learn anything, pay attention. Anarchy is freedom in the purest form. It is also the most demanding on self-sufficiency and survival. Any government - ANY form of government whatsoever - is the antithesis of freedom, directly proportional to the level of oppressiveness of that government.
On another note - Lie To Me was good last night. So was AI - glad to see Matt hit the bricks finally - he's good but ordinary. Big shout out to Fox. My wife wonders when the law will be passed - you know - the one where all networks will be required to preempt regular programming for BO's infomercials? I told her very soon...
  • No, I am liberal
I am liberal, but I do think that people are just close-minded and dont want to face the truth. Such as, people keep saying vote for the republicans for lowering taxes and this and that. But republicans never do that. Then they call them RINOS, and then republicans continue to elect them. I personally would vote liberal just cause I know the klan and neo nazis vote republican. Pissing them off means more to me than paying an extra cent of tax on a snickers bar. If the republican party was to split and get rid of the people who focus on abortions, no beer on sundays, and stem cells, and create a party focused on lowering taxes and smaller government, they would definitely get some switchovers from the democratic party. But as of right now, republicans would rather spend money on preventing abortions rather than working on the economy. Once conservatives get their priorities straight, then I will take them seriously.
  • Neal's grading scale
Sooooo Bush also got an "F" then?
  • Re: Club-a-Liberal
Good comments, but my I suggest that you use the moniker Club-a-Statist instead?

Personally I think that we should have Clubs for Statists – I would prefer to use a nice Louisville Slugger on them myself.

    Hope this helps
  • Don't Forget Gavin!!!
Don't forget to put Gavin Volaire on that list Mr. Galt.
  • Presser? Rather a pack of lies
I preferred to watch "Lie To Me" which aired on the same time slot. At least the title of the show was appropriate. I found PrezBo staggeringly at ease lying to the nation. Telling the nation that opposition to any further reckless and irresponsible spending would somehow be...."against the people's will". Never mind 50% of the population totally opposes him and what he stands for...
  • Re: Jay, Another option – let me guess, you were educated – indoctrinated in the Government schools?
    Yup?, Thought so.
  • How to grade Obama on his First 100?
He has failed the "first grade." Between shooting hoops and playing with his ipod, he can "READ THE WRITING ON THE WALL."
  • jay
Where does our freedom come from if not from our government?

i don't believe somebody will say that. it's outrageous. the government takes your freedom away every day.

you need to get your money back from that doctor who lobotomized you.
  • In response to "Another Option"
Jay, I believe you have a misconception here. Freedom does not come from the government. Rather, our government was formed to guarantee our rights and our freedoms.
Also, Neal does not advocate no government (see Somalia for example of anarchy... great place, huh?). Rather, he advocates for limited government. That is, government more towards what it was initially intended to do (here in the US, that is).
Absolute government control (communism, dictatorship, fascism) means no one has freedom. Anarchy means everyone has freedom but no safety/security. The federal government was formed to find a balance between the two so that a society can exist that maximizes personal freedom while, at the same time, maintains public safety by ensuring that one person's freedom does not infringe upon another person's.
I hope I explained that correctly.
  • Jay
Our freedom comes from the Constitution. The people (that's us) are the ones that are supposed to give the power to the government, not the other way around.
  • Another option
With all due respect, you left out this option: What if you love government and also love freedom? Where does our freedom come from if not from our government? Not from your anarchy; that's for sure. In your world, "Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose."
  • Sorry Gable, didn't mean to leave you out!
    Yesterday I commented...

I have a theory about Copyleft, Tristan and Hugo's Ghost. I don't believe they're socialists at all. They are conservative plants posting here, attempting to make the Left look mal-informed and cult-like in devotion to Leftist dogma.

To those trolls, guys, cut it out. The Left doesn't need any help to look stupid.

Stan, I wholeheartedly apologize for leaving you off the list of conservatives posing as idiotic liberals. Please accept my apology.
  • Grade on Success
If you're grading him on success of his agenda, he'd get an "A" because everything he's accomplished is aligned with his agenda and goals.

If you're grading him on success of the people, all you have to do is read a little bit of history and you'll see pretty quickly, his agenda has been tried under the same/similar circumstances and was then/is now a complete failure.

We the people give him an "F" because he's supposed to work for US, not HIMSELF.
  • Speech
I couldn't watch the whole thing as this guy makes my skin crawl as soon as he opens his mouth. A couple of things I heard that stuck out:

    (1) OBozo said that his plan has already created or saved 150,000 jobs!!!How do you figure that? They are starting the count toward his "I will create or save 4 million jobs." What complete nonsense.

    (2) He did his sociopathic lying again where he says one thing, which is the exact opposite of reality. He said something like, "I know many will say that I am in favor of big government, but that is not true." WTF? Not true? Good god!

    (3) The typical condescending arrogance of libs at full display. He spends his Euopean tour apologizing for America's arrogance. Then, in his speech yesterday, he chastised Pakistan (aka Pockey-stan) and then tells them how he will fix them. Talk about arrogance.

Reminds me of exactly how libs treat the minorities. The Conservatives are deemed racists because they say, "Look, minorities shouldn't get handouts or special programs, why should they get special treatment over others. We are all equal, right." That is supposedly racist. The libs promote Aff Action programs, special privileges, handouts, etc. because they think the minorities are not capable of succeeding on their own. Yet, they are treated as the compassionate ones!
  • well, to recycle a comment heard by Bushies for the last 7 years...
He has kept us safe from a terror attack his entire presidency, so he must be doing something right. A+++++++++++++++!!! We haven't had another 9/11 under his watch, A++++++++ We're taking the fight to the terrorists in Afghanistan, A+++++++!!

It was good enough for Bush, lets see if it works for this president.
  • Steve, Richard Nixon's wiretaps weren't legal and nobody approved of them. George Bush's WERE legal and the only time an American was involved was when he/she received a phone call from a known terrorist from out of country. I doubt anybody listened to your phone calls and, frankly, I doubt anyone would care about them either.
  • Bipolar
Wow, Neal doesnt even have any other grades in there. Neal definitely has the support of the timothy mcveighs of the world who fear the government. I wouldve hate to have seen Neal when the Patriot Act was passed
  • Fear your government?
Really? If you really fear your government I wonder why you feel so free to express your views publically. This veteran thinks you take for granted the many freedoms you have that don't have to do with money, like freedom of speech. Freedom is many things to many people. I think the government is in serious need of the overhauling of the administrative systems and manuals and equipment. It is outdated and incompetent, but not the enemy. I was in the military, a civil servant too. The money and efficiency modern technology would bring to administering the day to day functioning of government would soon pay off the big deficits. The waste in the system boggles the mind.
  • freedom?
    what the hell is that?

i would give any politician an F-

    expect ron paul
  • If you love freedom
In that Richard Nixon/George Bush wiretap kind of way...
If you love government in that "I just lost half of my 401K" kind of way...
  • Question for the MSM:
How do they think history will judge their complicity in this Statist disaster?
  • My take?
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Except for one screwup: Britain has NEVER been known for "kind" interrogations techniques.
