I hope that by now, the name Susan Roesgen is a household name. I hope it is a name that is equated with idiocy. I'm sorry, folks. There is no other way to put it. Her little tirade at the tea parties the other day was an embarrassment for CNN.

A blogger has now released footage of what happened after Susan Roesgen decided that her tea party coverage was "no longer suitable for family viewing" .... It seems as though the tea party protestors had their way with her. Gotta love it. Warning: bad words.

Also ... if you're wondering why Roesgen targeted Fox News in her rant, this might clear that up for you. About once a week Drudge profiles the ratings for the cable news networks. Here, through the magic of cut-and-paste, is the latest:

Total viewers Wednesday from 8:00 to 11:00 PM:

FOXNEWS 3,390,000
MSNBC 1,210,000
CNN 1,070,000
CNN HEADLINE 909,000

See that? Fox News has three times plus the viewers that CNN draws in. And you wonder why CNN takes shots at Fox?

Viewership for specific shows:

FOXNEWS O'REILLY 3,980,000
FOXNEWS HANNITY 3,239,000
FOXNEWS GRETA 2,947,000
FOXNEWS BECK 2,740,000
FOXNEWS BAIER 2,401,000
FOXNEWS SHEP 2,185,000
COMEDY DAILY SHOW 1,777,000
MSNBC OLBERMANN 1,499,000
COMEDY COLBERT 1,446,000
CNNHN GRACE 1,336,000
CNN KING 1,292,000
MSNBC MADDOW 1,149,000
CNN COOPER 1,021,000

So now you know why Anderson Cooper was grumbling about the tea parties. Looks like he's feeding on the bottom of the fish tank here.

I love how the stooge called the protesters "right wing extremists" and completely ignored the sign right next to her that said "Republicans suck too." Read More

What others are saying

  • Cnn's Biggest Looooooser
What is stupid is that Susan thinks all Democrats think one way and all Republicans think the other and she spreads her opinionated views across the nation as gospel. She does'nt report the news, she reports her views.Kinda catchy huh?
  • After watching the woman roast Roesgen, I have to say that there is one thing that I hear that invalidates most of the arguements that I hear - FAIR. In my household, the fair comes to town once a year. Wouldn't the arguement be stronger if the words fair and unfair were replaced with the words right and wrong? Let's face it, life isn't fair. I'll roll with the wording of the FairTax. Even though it's a good idea, it isn't perfect. Using the word fair in nearly every other context makes people sound like a kid on the playground who just had his marbles taken away.

Can we lose our oppositions that are based on "fair", and concentrate on right and wrong? Please?
  • CNN
If you try to play the video of Roesgen getting chewed out, it won't work. Try it if you haven't already. Interesting that CNN has claimed copyright to it. To what? Roesgen's idiocy?
  • re: @Gayvin
Please tell me there aren't two of you. What are the odds that the two stupidest people on Earth are both in Neal's audience?
  • re: But Gavin....
Joyce -- Anon says it's a classic liberal argument to say if you don't believe in A, you must believe in B. Problem is, it's also a classic conservative argument. It's been used on me and others -- here and beyond -- who dare challenge idiotic statements from the right. I didn't pat Anon on the back for his rubbish, therefore I must hold all of the classic extreme liberal views.

Anon is right, is it lazy. He's just wrong to pin it on liberals when it goes both ways.

I know Club-Liberal was agreeing with me -- I guess it shouldn't matter that he has the wit of a 12 year old boy and the intellect to match.....but it does. Tell me you weren't a little nervous when he declared his love for you. You paused for a moment and thought, ok is there any possibility my posting here could somehow reveal my address to that mental patient?
  • Missing video
    While it lasts.

  • Video is gone
    But I found another...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zNbWtl4wgM
  • CNN is a wimp
The video of the housewife schooling Resgen has been removed from YouTube by CNN due to a copyright claim.

They have not removed the other videos, even the one of Roesgen being an idiot.

This is a tactic used by the Obama Administration, so why shouldn't CNN do it?
  • Nazi
You'd think they would finally get it after awhile, but that IS what happens when you only hear what you WANT to hear. Pesky Facts Be Damned

    Hitler was a LEFTIST

For those of you confused about the "National Socialist" thing, go check out:

    http://constitutionalistnc.tripod.com/hitler-leftist/

"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." --Adolf Hitler

    (Speech of May 1, 1927. Quoted by Toland, 1976, p. 306)
  • CNN Reporter Video
You can run but you can't hide it CNN. See Video here...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6xWGvdRQ9Q
  • How come CNN is claiming copyright on video they didn't shoot?
That just doesn't seem right. Big Brother squelching the little guy?
  • Clip is no longer available
Clip is no longer available due to a copyright claim by CNN. Wimps.
  • Roesen Video Pulled
"no longer available due to a copyright claim by Cable News Network, Inc."

Great. Just great. Anybody got a transcript? Or a new link?
  • Ratings Numbers Don't Add Up
I agree with you for the most part Neal, but looking at the ratings you posted raises a question about their accuracy.

How is it possible that O'Reilly got 3.9 million viewers when the numbers for the whole 8-11 time frame for FOXNEWS was 3.4 million...a half million less than O'Reilly's one hour time slot?
  • Proof of Republican bias
Why is it that there were none of these "tea parties" while the Republicans were more than DOUBLING the debt between 2001 and 2007? No that a Democrat is in office, all of a sudden these hypocrites are concerned about government debt!
  • Susan Roesgen's video
The video has been pulled by CNN.
  • What CNN didn't show
The second clip was removed from YouTube before I could watch it. Are there any other hosts for the video?
  • CNN Pulled the vid
Go figure CNN pulled the video due to "copy right" BUT the nice fluffy ones she did remained. Go figure.
  • RE: Media Analyst
I find it very telling that you bring up television as a source for Science. Discovery channel and Nat’l Geographic are entertainment, nothing more. I enjoy both channels (though I no longer own a television), but I and others who are actually interested in real science (and history while we are at it) get our information from books and other published information. Television is for the sloth.
  • CNN Removed the Video
Just finished watching the video and now it has been removed. Bummer. Hopefully it will get uploaded back.
  • Tea Party Tirade on CNN
Nice of CNN to yank the video. I guess they were too embarrassed to show their own documentation
  • @ "Media Analyst"
QUOTE: "The simple reason for Fox News' strong ratings is that the rightmost 10% of the country has virtually nothing else they like to watch."

Except that there was a scientific survey last year that showed that more MODERATES and DEMOCRATS (non-closet Marxist Democrats, I assume) watch FOX than do Republicans.

Even were this not so, Fox is number one, and the only reason there are more Leftist media news programs on TV is the leftist emphasis on controlling the media backed in part by ultra-wealthy "socialists" like your bud, George Soros. How many non-leftist journalism schools are there BTW? [No, not *your* definition of leftist, I'm talking neo-marxist here].

Can't admit it? Didn't think so... Leftist media entities, and leftist ideas, like all things leftist, cannot compete when there is a level playing field and open competition.

Maybe that is why you all abhor competition so much & why you all just can't stand to see a real grass roots Conservative / Libertarian protest.
  • To Greg RE: Mercantilism
This was a topic during our TEA rally!

Anybody else have that come up during their rally?
  • Who's the antagonist?
When Roesgen was talking to the woman in the latter half, the woman asked her if she was terminally stupid. Roesgen responds with, "You know, you really don't have to be so antagonist."

What was Roesgen doing when she interviewed the man with his child? I guess that wasn't antagonism by journalistic standards.

James, the man was blown off and his views ignored by this person, clearly showing she had no interest in actually "reporting" the event. Can you honestly say you would remain calm after having the person yell at you while you attempt to answer her question? Sir, I doubt it.

CNN is so far from balanced, they would laugh at Alan Colmes if he pursued them for employment.
  • Overuse of Fascism?
Well, Hugo. You may actually have a point. However, if you want to talk about overuse of the term "fascist" look at your namesake, Presidente Hugo "airborne" "merd de burro" Chavez. He uses it on anyone who disagrees with him, yet he resembles the definition more closely than most other in today's world.

Fascism *is* a type of socalist economic system, so your detractors are right on that side of it. However, it is also a social / political system, and I think that the most critical defining trait is that the powers in a fascist system will do anything & destroy or even kill any one to maintain power. This is combined with the state control of private business.

While your Demo-buddies are on the path as potential proto-fascists. This in their experimental take overs of private businesses. In how they have dipped into the realm of authoritarianism with their threats to silence free speech, their continued stuffing of the ballot box and their willingness to trample portions of the Constitution at an unprecedented level. Added this to their staple flouting of the second amendment an their passing of the oh so special AIG Ex post facto--Bill of Attainder (wow-two birds with one stone!) and their political and character assassinations (see McCarthy, Nixon and even "Joe the Plumber."

So maybe they are just following the Lucács / Gramsci Marxist playbook, but it is funny how one flawed ideology resembles another -- and how they all end up going down a similar path.
  • That CNN woman and those like her ARE the problem
They don't get it, I don't know why because it doesn't take a genius to figure out that a 1.2 trillion dollar stimulus package is right out of your paycheck. As Thomas Jefferson said "the democracy will cease to exist when money is taken from those willing to work and given to those who will not". And can I claim the bail out bill, GM, the banks as dependents on my tax return?
  • @Gayvin
I am NOT the much esteemed LiberalHater. Why on earth would I use both names, you dolt? You think I am like you libtards who need to hide behind their beliefs.

The fact of the matter is that Stan Gayble gets his news ONLY from two unfunny comedians!!! That is game, set, match!

That is the equivalent of us here analyzing the Masters and other golf tournaments and some bonehead comes on here posting how smart he is about golf and lecturing us on golf and then tells us that he never watched a golf tournament because he only watched Caddyshack and Dorf on Golf! Would you take that braindead drone serious? Everything he says after that HAS to be discounted.

BTW, maybe you and Gayble are the same people!
  • Grrrr... missed it!!
I sent this link to you yesterday as soon as I saw it (I probably wasn't the only one)...mainly because I really wanted to hear you go off on this idiot lady again. (Same reason I WAS looking forward to the CNN interview yesterday ;-) Apparently I was buying groceries when this discussion took place. Drat!
  • This chick applied for a job at Fox!
    http://gawker.com/5216313/fox+bashing-cnn-reporter-applied-for-a-job-at-fox
  • Roesgen apparently applied at Fox twice
Roesgen applied at Fox News twice and was turned down both times:

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/seton-motley/2009/04/17/anti-cnn-tea-party-reporter-rejected-gig-fox-news-twice#comment-908354

LOL-It just might explain here bitterness to a degree.

I just hope the Atlanta Tea Party folks will schedule the next party out in front of CNN Center. :-)

    -Dave
  • But Gavin
Anon had a good point! Bush was not a true conservative and Obama sucks. But more importantly ALL of Congress sucks.

And I believe Club was agreeing with you.
  • ROESGEN
Some journalists should admit to themselves that they are incapable of reporting on any issue that has an element of controversy or complexity
and only accept reporting jobs such as covering the arrival of the new White House puppy
  • Where does that $50 billion come from?
Adakin Valorem - You're close, but in order for the federal gov't to "give" Illinois $50 billion, the fed's have to take nearly twice that much FROM Illinois to pay for all the bureaucracy and pork-barrel projects.
  • Communist News Network Reporter
Sue actually thinks that I should be grateful that Obama is gonna "give" me $400.00 for each of my kids???WTF???

News Flash lady...Obama isn't "giving" me anything. I already EARNED that $400.00.
Although to be fair to her argument I'm sure that there are plenty of parasites who will be "given" money , I'm not one of them.
  • Olberman
I thought that Keith Olberman was on the Comedy Channel. He is slotted in the ratings right between Colbert and Stewart, but I can't come to understand how he rated so high; eviently people must have been channel surfing during commercials and when they clicked on his show (must have been the random button that people hit) it counted as a viewer for him.
  • Ratings
The reason the ratings numbers were so slanted towards FOX is becuase the people who would be more likely to normally get getting their news from CNN and the others were too busy watching American Idol, Entertainment Tonight, Extra and TMZ to be bothered with all of this 'unimportant' stuff...not when Hulk Hogan and Mel Gibson are getting divorced!!
  • F word and babies
I totally lost any respect for the moron she interviewed when he had to drop the F bomb with his toddler in his arms... great example moron.
But still, CNN sucks and they either have an agenda or really are butt-stupid.
  • @By anonymous @ 04/17/09 11:52:55
You try again. It's not a classic liberal tactic.

Joyce -- you already like me, you know you do. LOL. Your post made me smile.

LiberalHaterClubberGuy? Not so much. Stop with the disguise name, moron. You're the only one here who thinks it's clever to add a "y" to names that start with "Ga" and you're too dayum stupid to realize you do it with both of your unoriginal, uninspired, hater names. You are a complete idiot and the fact that you agree with me about anything makes me cringe.

Your entire rant against Stan "Gayble" (hahaha! how funny!) is based on conjecture and presumption. Go look those up. We'll wait.....

Back so soon? Listen here, if anyone in here should be ignored and not responded to, it's you!
  • Facist - defined
Hugo Supporter - learn what "facist" means before you claim it's not accurate. From Merriam-Webster:
facism: often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of oppositionoften capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
Just what part of the above is NOT going on in the Obama administration?
  • teabagging
    JKMB, good post on teabagging

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i-OWDjOQfI

Plenty of puns there. For the rest of you that don't know what Neal's in trouble for today he unknowingly repeated something about teabagging.

Teabag can be a reference to the scrotum. Now watch the link...
  • the sharpest nife inna drawer???
the airhead CNN babe said she saw only one negro at the tea party. i'm sure there are several reasons for that.

    1. most folks (all colors) were bizzy workin'.
2.Unemployment in the negro community is high so the way to keep a job is to be at the job.
    3. no food,no sports, no free stuff...no way.
  • Civics Teacher
"How we select our elected officials.
I'll remind you that elected officials are chosen by voters casting ballots, not by Nielsen ratings.

Despite Fox News' apparent dominance and powerhouse ratings, Obama still won the presidency and the democrats captured large majorities of both houses of Congress."
    By Civics Teacher

And they can lose that majority too.
  • Doctor
Gosh, helpful doctor, I would enjoy the spring day, except now I will have to work even harder to pay for slackers who CAN go for a bike ride, probably at my expense.
  • CNN
Think this is bad? Watch CNN's David Schuster rendition of fratboy "teabagging".

  • Heard of mercantilism?
"if the government bails them out what do you call it? its not fascism, maybe coroprate welfare? i think they're revelant."

Look up "Mercantilism". It is a 16th-18th century philosophy based on the idea that the world's capital supply was fixed. This led to nation-wide protectionist policies, including government intervention and subsidies.

This leads to a key basic: what you think should be done is largely driven by whether you think the world is a fixed-size pie or a variable-sized pie.

    * Fixed-size pie, and you have to focus on preventing some faction cornering any market by spreading the wealth around.
    * Variable-sized pie, and you need to let those factions do their thing, because it will spill over and cause a rising tide.

P.S. It does you good to read up on what John Adams and Alexander Hamilton thought about economics and how to what degree government should be involved.
  • Fox News vs. MSNBC viewers on physical and emotional health
I'd like to know the obesity and hypertension rates of Fox News viewers vs. MSNBC viewers. I envision Fox News viewers as the types who sit at home with the blinds drawn all day, absorbing the Fox News propoganda hour after hour - except when they switch over to the radio for Boortz :)

Consequently they go mad with hatred . . . the Fox personalities are like the evil emperor in Star Wars stirring hatred in Luke in an attempt to turn Luke to the dark side.

Free advice: Spring is here. Lighten up, relax, go out in the sun, listen to the birds, dust the spider webs off your bike and go for a ride, and breathe some fresh air.
  • How we select our elected officials
I'll remind you that elected officials are chosen by voters casting ballots, not by Nielsen ratings.

Despite Fox News' apparent dominance and powerhouse ratings, Obama still won the presidency and the democrats captured large majorities of both houses of Congress.
  • tshirt-doctor.com..?
Apparently you seem to think that just because I agree that Obama is a fascist that I have some kind of love for Bush and his bailout that started this whole nonsensical trend.

    I don't.

Why do you people keep going back to Bush when someone challenges Obama about something?

You actually think that just because someone hates what Obama is doing that they MUST be an evil right wing extremist conservative pro-Bush myrmidon? Are you really that ignorant?

    No, not ignorant. Lazy.

Challenging the argument would actually require you to think and use logic and reason to make a defense, so instead, you make assumptions about the arguer and frantically divert attention away from Obama and back to Bush.

Classic liberal tactic, and one which I happily use against you to point it out. Hypocrisy can be fun sometimes.

But that still doesn't change the fact that Obama is a fascist, Bush (and most of the Republicans in Congress) have never been truly conservative, and both of them have done a wonderful job of messing this country up for years to come.

    Try again.
  • The Stupid Broad
I disagree with Neal. I think instead of firing that Stupid Cow, they should send her to Beruit or maybe Somalia to do her reporting.........heh heh heh
  • Stan Gayble
Stan Gayble says: "Sad thing is the only one of those shows that show the BS the other shows put on is the Daily Show and Colbert Report. I dont even watch CNN anymore, only those 2 shows."

    ---------

There you have it folks. Stan Gayble, who comes here and thinks he is blessing us with his intelligence, gets all his news from a comedy show. What more can you say? Basically, with that statement, anything that comes from his mouth from now on should not even be read, or responded to. Seriously, the man's entire "political knowledge" base comes from a comedy channel. Sadly, he isn't the only one. God help us all when you have voters like this out there.
  • Hell Froze, Pigs r Flying
Gavin - I agree with your last post 100%. That was my thought exactly when Roesgen played the antagonistic card!
  • Gavin Volaire
she didn't get hired for her brains, more for her looks.

of course, all media does that
  • What a hypocrite
Roesgen has the nerve to tell the woman she is talking to that the woman doesn't need to be so antagonistic, and she says this just moments after Roesgen herself was antagonistic towards the man with the baby.

Do as I say, not as I do?

Neal, you should have gone on the Rick Sanchez show and called Roesgen out for her actions.

I don't think Roesgen needs to be fired since she isn't a true reporter, but having Roesgen and CNN called out for their biased coverage must be done.

    Good job Founding Bloggers!
  • To stepcousin
You are so right. If this had been a liberal rally and a Fox News reporter had been there they would have been extremely rude and would more than likely go overboard and hurt someone or something. This CNN thing is so unbelievably exposing. I am so glad liberals are this dumb.
  • While we're at it, let's have more fun with numbers!
Votes for the Nazi Party in Germany, July 1932: 13,745,800

Votes for Ron Paul in America, November 2008: 41,905

Man, I guess popularity numbers are a great sign of something's value!
  • Gavin
I may come to like you yet!
  • Susan Roesgen's 'gift' of $50 Billion...
"But $50 Billion is going to the land of Lincoln..."

Yeah, but in order for the government to GIVE our state $50 Billion, it first has to TAKE $50 Billion FROM someone.
  • QUOTE:
The right wing decries popular culture. so the shun the entertainment networks. They hate Hollywood, so they stay away from movie channels like HBO (unles it's a Chuck Norris flick). They don't like science, so they avoid Discovery Channel and Nat'l Geographic Channel and the like. With all their hatred and resentment, they have no joy in their lives, so they avoid comedy networks. And it goes without saying that they loathe PBS.END QUOTE

I am a conservative. I do not get HBO (just not worth it), but I am an avid Discovery and Science channel watcher. I watch several PBS shows (NOVA, Frontline, etc) when there is something I find of interest.

Not all conservatives are fundamentalist Christians.
  • Numbers
The ratings listed are for TV. I bet the Arbitron ratings will make it look even worse.
Look, bottom line is that liberals hate competition in all areas of life, so all they have left is to slander those who succeed: A person who is well off financially, a winning football team, or a successful TV or radio show, whatever it may be.
Those ratings you see are like the ratings for prime time TV shows: people will tune in to what appeals to them. Idol over Heroes. Lost over ER.
Boortz over Air America. Hannity over Maddow. Jealousy and envy are wicked things, and until liberals address those, AND GET RID OF REPORTERS LIKE THAT ONE AT CNN, those ratings will stay the same.
  • Nazi Party
Everyone loves to throw the Nazi word around when refering to conservatives, but do any of you know the specific policies of the nazi party? I'm talking about prior to the concentration camps and the invasion of Poland? Which pollitical party do you think these pollicies most closely align with? I suggest that some of you do a little research, you may be supprised.

I'll give you a hint, they weren't pro capitolism.
  • Ghost get your money back
i don't agree with obama's plans from GM. but i certainly don't agree with bush's plans of giving them money.

if the government bails them out what do you call it? its not fascism, maybe coroprate welfare? i think they're revelant.

i remember now, if you don't do good in business. you fail. it's amazing how that's forgotten these days.

have i got you to thinking yet? it's about time.

and how you hurt my feelings :(
  • Talk about a schooling...
That lady schooled Roesgen. CNN definately aired the material it thought "appropriate" to portray it's point of view. If CNN ever wants(ed) to have a semblence of unbias, they would have aired that segment because that would have been real journalism. It would have been "humble" journalism, but alas, our media is not humble - they know whats better, so they will surpress anyone who makes them look stupid.

Serious - do you know how much cred CNN would have gotten if they played that segment? Do you know how much cred Sue would have gotten had she acknowledged the merit of this woman's statements?

Unfortunately these moments drift into the wind, and CNN remains, yours truly, a tool of the idealistic journalistic left. A little Humble Pie never hurt anyone.
  • Definition of Facisim
Liberals will not believe our words. So how about Merriam-Webster's?

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism

Seems to me like we are moving closer to that definition!
  • You Should Have Gone on CNN
As a Pansy Liberal, I wish you had gone on CNN to call out this example of media bias. Reporters, and Mouths like Roesgen's are an embarassment, and I hope she gets a good chewing out from some senior reporters.
  • conservatives are too composed
It's a shame that crowd didn't sh!t-stomp her. If the tables had been turned, a conservative reporter would have had her teeth kicked in by left-wing radicals.
  • Her name is Susan Roesgen
Susan Roesgen should play cornerback because she has the same lack of memory they say you need to be good at that job. Antagonize a man engaging in a peaceful protest then two minutes later play the “don’t be antagonistic” card. Then she tries fishing for a label to slap on the housewife….
Susan Roesgen: How did you hear about this? What GROUP are you with?
Housewife: It’s all over the news and the internet. Are you playing stupid?
LOL. It may be giving Susan Roesgen too much credit to say she was playing stupid. Susan Roesgen seemed truly perplexed by that woman.
  • Proof Of A Liberal Bias
All this woman did was prove that there is a liberal bias in the media. Instead of asking the question of the man with his child and letting him answer, she cut him off and argued with him and continued to cut him off. She was supposed to report. Report means tell the story without a bias. She clearly showed her and CNN's liberal bias(being created by Ted Turner so this isn't much of a stretch). Had this been another lame anti-War/Military protest, would she grab one of those loons and treat them the same way? Hell no. In fact, anti-war/military protests are front page news to CNN and the rest of the uber liberal MSM.

Now, to the dope who said that the only reason FoxNews has the ratings it has is because right wingers have nothing else to watch, nice generalization there and way to make excuses. Did you know that there are multitudes of liberals who watch Fox? Also, I'm a conservative and I watch regular television and still find time to get the news in. Oh, and here's a little clue. It isn't like Fox is just eeking out the ratings game, they're burying the other networks. Glenn Beck's 5pm time slot during the Tea Parties beat all other cable news outlets combined with 700,000 thousand viewers to spare. Same with O'Reilly. But I guess it's just right wing extremists who are watching Fox. You keep telling yourself that.
  • Susan Roesgen
"It's anti-government, anti-CNN... this is not really family viewing..."

Correct, because as everyone knows, only pro-government viewpoints are appropriate for families. Anything else is obscene and hateful. Why, most of the folks at that protest probably even voted against Obama! Oh, the humanity! What a bunch of horrible right wing people. Thank you, CNN, for protecting innocent families from being exposed to this filth.
  • Take action against Roesgen and CNN
Anyone and everyone who has access to Facebook, there are several groups on there that have been formed to urge CNN to fire this witch. Please do a search and join the cause. They will probably not respond, but if they have any sense at all, they will take a look at their ratings as well as the numbers signing on and rethink their 'journalistic practices' .

Media Anaylyst guy- you make a whole lot of sweeping generalizations in your post, which immediately discredits anything you have to say. As to why Fox News totally dominates the cable news networks by a three to one margin, my theory would be that the liberals are too busy waiting to see who is getting the final rose on the Bachelor or which singer is being voted off American Idol to be bothered with something as innocuous as seeking information regarding the state of their nation.
  • So called reporters
Maybe those of us here in Atlanta who are fed up with the completely biased "reporting" from CNN, should march in front of their headquarters. This is what the left does is it not? They protest in front of peoples homes, scaring their families just to make a point. Let's take it to them, in a civil way of course. Desperate times calls for idiotic journalism. I would not be the least surprised to find out that this sort of thing is being taught in our colleges and universities. Journalism, as we knew it, is dead.
  • Hugo=Tool
So...watching Youtube at work eh Hugo??? Or are you still in your moms basement tthis morning?
It is a weekday you know. Try to add something to society today instead of leaching off of it. Tool
  • "Reporter"
So the reporter asked a question and the man starts talking about liberty. She asks, "What does this have to do with taxes." The man should have asked her why she didn't think taxes have anything to do with liberty and if she knew what the Boston Tea Party was about. Then he attempts to paraphrase Lincoln, to which she says, "The state of Lincoln will get 40 million." He should have replied, there is no state of Lincoln. There is a state of Illinois. Also the amount of money the state of Illinois receives has nothing to do with the ideas of Lincoln." At least that is how I would have handled it.
  • The ignorance of the Hugos
Hugo's ghost, there is no question the Fox News' report was more balanced. The CNN report tried to slant it as a Republican rally and anti-Democrat. The Fox News (which undoubtedly slants toward the Republican point of view) clearly identified that the Republicans and Democrats were being protested. You represent the biggest problem we have in this country. Too many people are Democrats or Republicans first and Americans second. We need to all be Americans first.

Hugo supporter, Facism is an economic system. It is not a social system. The gas chambers and concentration camps were implemented to advance Hitler's social policies, not his economic policies. Speaking as simply as you did in your post will guarantee that intelligent people will never take you seriously.
  • Media Analyst Guy
BOY are there a lot of assumptions in your statement! And they are all wrong. I for one, know what I believe and after all my years I don't need some lefty telling me what I know to be lies or slanted reporting so of course I listen to those that I agree with. I don't think lefties listen to Fox for the purpose of hearing both sides so we all have our favorites.

But at least you don't like AC!!!
  • Colbert/Daily Show
Sad thing is the only one of those shows that show the BS the other shows put on is the Daily Show and Colbert Report. I dont even watch CNN anymore, only those 2 shows. I certainly dont watch Fox News cause Neal taught me a long time ago not to watch biased news networks.
  • Missed opportunities
Too bad the guy holding the 2 year old did not have the presence of mind to equate the Reporters question about Tax cuts and Stimulus money to enslaving his beautiful 2 year old to servitude.

That would have been the best way to show the effects of this ( and prior ) Administrations spending practices.
  • CNN Twit
Susan can take my piddly "$400" in Obama bucks and stick it where the sun doth not shine. What does this twit think we should do? Grovel before the Messiah and kiss his royal backside for the pittance of crumbs falling from the palace table? By the way, the magic "tax cut calculator" that the Chosen one had on his campaign propaganda website, figured my "middle class" tax cut at $2500. Typical leftist lies! CNN is as pathetic as PMSNBC! They all suck!
  • "Fascist"
    To Hugo's supporter

    Just one word for you;

    YET!
  • "Not family viewing"
Damn right it's not family viewing. I would never, EVER let my kids watch CNN.
  • "Hugo supporter," get an education.
Fascism (a.k.a National Socialism, see "Nazi party" [National German Socialist Party]) = Government control of the means of production, even if the means of production are privately owned.

Obama's telling GM what kind of cars they should make, and telling CEOs how to run their own businesses. Whether government bailouts were involved or not are irrelevant.

    Try harder next time.
  • Hugo's ghost
there all in this together. just on opposite sides.
  • Reason for Fox News ratings
The simple reason for Fox News' strong ratings is that the rightmost 10% of the country has virtually nothing else they like to watch.

And it goes without saying that they loathe PBS.

Liberals and moderates, on the other hand, divide their TV viewing across a number of different networks and channels, so no one of them wins the ratings race.

Besides, you can't have it both ways -- if you think Fox News is now the country's media powerhouse, than stop blaming the "mainstream media" for all your ills, because by your analysis, Fox is the new "mainstream media".

Oh, by the way, the ratings of the network evening newscasts are still far and away greater than the ratings for Fox News.

And, finally, I'll agree with the dominant sentiments of this forum on one thing: I do not like Anderson Cooper at all.
  • good point
but Cody seemed a lot more of a journalist by capturing what people were protesting about (i admit saying fascist went too far). Susan however went into the "interview" and purposefully picked out someone on the spot who was not prepared as she was and with a obvious agenda to make the tea parties look as bad as possible. she argued with the guy - what kind of journalism is that?!
  • Overuse of the "Fascist" word
When the tea-types start tossing around the word "fascist", they lose all credibility with mainstream folks (the non-hyperpartisan middle 75% of America) and hurt their cause. And, frankly, they insult those who have had the misfortune to live through the terror history's truly fascist regimes.

There are no concentration camps, no gas chambers, no mass graves, no goose-stepping youth corps, no stars of David, no secret police, no swastikas, and no media outlet is required to submit its content to an "information commission" for pre-publication or pre-broadcast approval. And if any of you respond to this post by saying these things are right around the corner, you're revealing yourself to be a paranoid lunatic who needs psychiatric help or at least a tin foil hat.
  • Susan Roesgen
    Neal,
As a former newspaper reporter who was fortunate enough to escape the profession, I can tell you in no uncertain terms that journalism in America is DEAD. Objective reporting is virtually nonexistent on ANY network (Fox included), which are now little more than forums for political advocacy and debate. It's sad to what has happened to a once-proud profession.
  • Times
The motto for CNN and MSNBC is "Desperate times call for desperate measures". The ratings are tanking, so they resort to name calling and mockery. Cant even watch Olbermann and Maddow because of their pompous attitudes. As the numbers and tea party showed, I think they need a new motto change, staff and direction.
Wonder if Forrest or Copyleft can explain these ratings numbers.
  • That was a fantastic beat down. Made my morning
  • Fair and Balanced
So do you think this more professional, Neal?
