What others are saying

  • Who cares about the TeleP, who is this Friend...
... and did we pay for his ticket to the UK?
  • Spoken like a true Republican...

  • @tbmbuzz
HA! you bring up that one P/E booger of a statement, which isn't all that big a deal. For each one of those little things, one can drum up 100 things Bush screwed up.

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

"Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?"

"We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease."

"I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things."

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

If Obama had said anything like what Bush had said, you'd crucify him. He's learned that lesson and is trying to avoid those errors. Even if he is doing it for his own political benefit, it still has a positive blowback for the USA because the world will see an articulate and confident leader instead of a stammering goofball.
Yeah, so thank God for Obama's teleprompters, otherwise the world would think we only elect complete idiots(which we usually do). At least Obama learned that what the president says is seen world-wide, and it is important to have a certain element of polish and showmanship on the world stage. Bush made me cringe each time he spoke, and I voted for the man. Bush spoke brilliantly while Governor, and spoke quite well on his first campaign, but after he won the election, his poor-quality dialogue was a tremendous blow to the prestige of the Presidency.
  • Affirmative Action
Affirmative action president. Given a six month evaluation he'd probably be let go in private sector. To bad we can't do this to politcians as well.
  • classless & clueless
osamabama causes anal leakage. who is the puppet master? he can not speak on a subject without a telepromter.
he is a muslim marxist intent on destroying the USA.
Cheney controlled Bush? who has their hand up osamabamas backside? rhambo, wright, aires.
  • Hey Cool Neil
Why don't you tell us how (for instance) PE Ratio stands for Profit to Earnings Ratio. GWB may not be the most articulate person who ever lived but he is 1) more articulate than Bozo Obama and 2) FAR more intelligent and common sense than Bozo. Bozo, frankly, is an embarrassment every time he speaks, even WITH his crutch-prompter.

Learn to live with - and admit - facts for a change, Mr. Neiliberal.
  • Sounds like a bad rapp video
Obama's entourage sounds like something out of bad rap vidoe. Did he take someone to toe his umbrella for him too??
  • Give it a rest
You may as well quit trying to defend BO and his crutch cause we think it's funny!!! You've had your punching bag in the past, now we have ours.
  • Um, What?
Obama better than Bush without a teleprompter? Cool Neil is a shining example of a Obama-maniac. They treat Obama like they would one of their kids at a recital. No matter how bad they are, they were better than the other kids. When Obama has to think on his feet, he sounds like Ralph Kramden when he's in a pickle(hamna-hamna). If Bush went on a trip with 12 teleprompters, it would have made the cover of Time, been front page news in the NY Times, and would have been the lead story on NBC Nightly News. You leftists railed on everything Bush did good or bad. I can't even imagine what would have happened had Bush made a joke about the Special Olympics or asked who painted the portrait of Mary at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Oh, wait, the left did...when Bush made jokes at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner. To say Liberals talk out of both sides of their mouths is an understatement.
  • teleprompter madness
Let's face it, BO is a drone. Guys behind a nearby curtain operate a remote control spurring him to "read" and "shut up"
  • Ripping the sock puppet
The only transparency is how easy it is to see through BO and his agenda of destroying this Country.
Watching him and his "deer in the headlights" stare at his teleprompter, removes all doubt of his inability to lead this Country.
  • RE: Teleprompter
    @ The Cool Neil:

Wrong-o bong-o, my friend. Bush might not have been articulate, but he could get words out without a teleprompter. The few times Obama's had to go solo without his lines being fed to him, he's looked like an ass.
  • errr ummmm I I I ah ah ah
er er er er um um um wait wait wait I I I I ah ah ah ah ah um um um um change er er er hold on, hold on, hold on, hope um um um
  • Teleprompter
you people kill me how you rip on President Obama for using a teleprompter. He is 100 times more coherent without the teleprompter than Bush was with it.

Me, I'm glad we have a President that sounds like he has more than 4 functioning brain cells rattling around in his skull.

I guess yall still sore "My Friend" McCain didn't win
  • unashamed
Obama promised transparency, and that's what we're getting. He's too stupid to memorize anything or to think for himself, and he doesn't hide it. Bravo, I say!
  • TOTUS
Just in time for Easter...The Messiah and the 12 desciples-er-teleprompters! Will one of them sell him out? We can only hope!
  • Privaledged Excess
On the very same day that George Soros' adopted Marxist 'son' effectively declares NASCAR dead, we get the announcement that TOTUS is taking his b'ball buddy across the pond at govt. expense. Who is this mystery companion? Doesn't anyone in the UK know how to play b'ball or are they afraid of a Brit beating the punk. Also, Dr. Zira-er-Michelle-My-Bell takes 8 'personal assistants'. These two commies will invite the fate of Louis XIV and Marie Antionnette with their "let them eat cake" and "do as I say, not as I do".
By the way, all you NASSCAR fans that were gullible enough to vote for this pathetic excuse of a 'leader' because you all thought he would "give" you something for nothing: shut up! you have no room to complain when NASSCAR becomes a hybrid battery endurance competition.
  • $mooth
    No, they aren't decoys.
TOTUS is a collective consciousness. He stations replications of Himself at all possible locations so that The Boss will be comforted by His presence.
  • Friend taken along ...
    ... name isn't Monica is it ... ?
  • The proper use of teleprompters
The problem isn't that he's using teleprompters, it's his total reliance on them. They are telePROMPTers. You're supposed to learn your speech and then use them to remind you. That's how every other president has done it.

And you can tell because they didn't do the pingpong ball head thing. As a public speaker you're supposed to address the audience, not the teleprompter.

He needs to start being able to remember a few lines so he can look somewhere else
  • Good for the Left, not so much for the Right
Its funny how the left can make fun of Bush not being able to put 4 words together but is perfectly ok with Obama using a teleprompter. On his own Obama can't put two words together (as long as you don't count all of the um's and ah's then it goes up to Bush's 4).

They should get with Sony to add a telepromter to the robot they have and then teach it to play basketball. We could save money by combining these "jobs" and reduce Obama's carbon footprint by sending 499 people with him instead of 500.
  • Obama good at speaches with telepromter - Not so with out it.
"During the campaign and since taking office, Obama has plenty of forums (e.g., press conferences, interviews, town halls, debates) where he speaks extemporaneously."
    By AWK

    And has Failed MISERABLE!

    Some to think about:

The 44th president - Obama for those not to bright - is proposing to add more to the national debt than the first 43 presidents combined, doubling it in the next six years, and tripling it within the decade. This man needs to be stopped!
  • And his extemporaneous comments result in some form of damage control
Did you ever think that the teleprompter thing is just a reason to make fun of the man?
Liberals found every opportunity to mock Bush, but cry like babies when their king is insulted.

It is not desperation you are seeing, I think that is what your side is feeling. Obama has not been looking so hot lately, just ask the Europeans.
  • This ridiculous and desperate teleprompter obsession from the right
Politicians from both parties have been using teleprompters for 40 years, even the great communicator himself, Ronald Reagan. And before teleprompters existed, they used paper. And in all cases, important speeches were written primarily by speechwriters.

This right-wing "President Obama & the teleprompter" talking point is laughable and pathetic, and it smacks of desperation from right wing ideologues looking for some, any, opportunity to embarrass Obama's intellect. This tactic may fire up the rabid AM talk radio crowd, but it is being laughed at and mocked everywhere else (Google "right wing obsession with teleprompter" and see what comes up).

During the campaign and since taking office, Obama has plenty of forums (e.g., press conferences, interviews, town halls, debates) where he speaks extemporaneously.
  • I want to know...
Who is footing the bill for the "friend" to entertain the President? Dang, and here I thought they were going to London for something important. These people in this administration have the gall to complain about the evil CEO's, when this administration wastes more taxpayer money than any CEO. I guess that will be the next excuse to raise taxes, "I have to pay for my friend to play basketball with me".
  • so?
Dude, the teleprompter thing is really getting old. Again, I'd rather have a President reading prepared statements with his eyes toward the audience, than staggering through it while looking at a podium, uttering 4 words at a time like Bush did. Obama learned a lesson from Bush, and that is that we are in the age of instant information, and the whole world can see when he makes mistakes. Bush just waded through his prepared speeches and left a bloody and mangled English language in his wake. Obama has learned to overcome that issue by using technology. I'm completely fine with it. It doesn't affect his policies or negatively impact his efficacy as President, so I don't see what the problem is. There are plenty of valid complaints you can make about the man, but this one is just childish.
  • 12 teleprompters
I have this image in my mind of the teleprompters self-replicating and taking over the world "Omabinator: The rise of the machines"
  • April Fool's?
This sounds suspiciously like one of those things Boortz says that can't be verified independently...April Fool's?
  • Entourage of 500
I would like to know what lavish accommodations have been booked for this entourage of 500. What is being spent on meals - and in what pricey restaurants? Are there any extras, like spa treatments? What's good for the private sector should be "good enough" for the government sector.
  • They're decoys........
one of them is the REAL TOTUS (Teleprompter Of The United States). That way, terrorists won't be able to decapitate the government.
  • Telepromter Hillarity!
Holy Cow 12 teleprompters?!?! Neal can you please reveal the source of this one? I want to print it up and display it here at work ....
