IMAGINE IF THIS WERE A REPUBLICAN

Hillary Clinton says that last week's deadly bombings in Iraq are a sign that extremists are afraid that the Iraqi government is succeeding.

Know what? Hillary may be right. But this is something only a Democrat can say. Imagine if a Republican had tried to explain that bombings in Iraq were a sign of progress. Wouldn't fly.

What others are saying

  • Fallacies of the left
I regularly hear people on the left try and make the argument that the United States attacking terrorists (i.e. War in Iraq and Afghanistan) does nothing more than breed more terrorists. Anyone making this argument is clearly guilty of the questionable cause fallacy thus invalidating their argument.

The idea that pulling the US military out of engagements with terrorists and treating the issue as a law enforcement problem rather than a national security problem is foolish, short sighted and promulgated by naive politicians (Barak Obama) much to the detriment of all American citizens regardless of political persuasion. Treating terrorism like a law enforcement problem does nothing to deter future terrorist attacks. I would rather live in a world where we perpetually have to take the fight to terrorists to minimize the damage they do than live in a world where we must all worry about the next attack and all the government will do is "investigate" each attack as they happen in an attempt to "bring those responsible to justice".
  • What you say?
"Imagine if a Republican had tried to explain that bombings in Iraq were a sign of progress. Wouldn't fly."

Um, Neal? They *did* say that. Right now, they're running around claiming the bloodshed in Mexico's Drug War is also a sign of progress.
  • Lots to learn here
It irritates some so bad to mention the blatant switch in dp/msm standards between GOP and dp administrations, that it must be “political racism”. No mention of anything the GOP got away with that the dp didn’t.
Apparently, unlike killing Nazis and bushido, killing terrorists only breeds more terrorists. Thomas Jefferson was apparently a neocon anti-American mystic, because he invaded Tripoli, toppled the old regime, installed a new one, and told the N. Africans how to live. Apparently we’ve also invaded iran, are building bases there, and are telling them how to live, unless red confused Iraq and iran.
Stan’s out of the loop, behind the curve, and apparently swallowed his crew’s bravo sierra. Halliburton is in again, like it was when wild bill was president, there’s no more political hay to make with them, for now. They are still the only company capable of doing what they do, and it’s the dp needs them now. It’s sad when a conservative is more up to speed with his party’s line than he is.
Gavin’s so lost for a rebuttal he’s left babbling about burping a baby.
Nobody’s surprised about dp/msm double standards, I’m just glad the dp isn’t pulling their standard cut and run maneuver. I’ll support them finishing the job.
  • Only a question of weeks before Obozo tries
to take credit for "winning" Iraq, even though he said it couldn't be "won".

Yep, Obozo and his cabinet clowns at work again. At least somebody tell those stupid libs to get their story straight. It couldn't be won, remember? The war was lost, remember?

Iraq's actually safer than Nuevo Laredo right now. But don't tell nitwit Napolitano that....she wants to keep the borders wide open.
  • @What
Yes, you are so right, Neal words things a certain to stir me up. What time did you start smoking pot this morning, hippie?
  • Taking Credit
Yea, on a different subject, how many times have you heard the drive-by media repeat the words of Osama bin Laden when he says the reason he took down the twin towers was because of Bill Clinton's failed attempts at killing him? No, all the Dims could do is blame George Bush since it happened on his watch. So could we say that the latest string of bombings are Barack Obama's fault since they happened on his watch? After all, these bad guys are supposed to be happy and content there's a Democrat in office, aren't they? Or wait...does that NOT MATTER??
  • Hillary's hypocrisy
New York's Sen. Hillary Clinton (then first lady) hugged suicide-bombing fan Suha Arafat after she accused Israelis of gassing Palestinian children. But over the weekend Clinton chided President Bush for allowing Secretary of State Colin Powell to meet with Mrs. Arafat's husband, in a letter she co-signed with several other U.S. senators. • Gavin
That's the best you can come up with? Personally, I think Neal words things a certain to stir you up (and Copyleft, Stan, Hugo and the rest). He is an entertainer first after all (on his own admittance).
  • Confused..
I'm confused. I thought the war in Iraq was lost, according to the bore from Nevada?

Gayble - you are getting on my last nerves with your bumper sticker slogans. Now, you are on the "Halliburton" kick again.

You want a true case of a company profiting from govt contracts? Look to your current administration and GE. Immelt, the CEO of GE, is a flaming lib. GE stands to get huge contracts for this whole cap-trade scam. To make matters worse, GE owns NBC. If GE gets huge contracts from OBozo, do you think you can rely on any truth telling (from NBC ever again (not that you could before)?
  • somebody burp the baby
has anyone seen Neal's bottle? The baby needs his baba to help him stop crying. Poor little baby....wah wah wah.....

what other stuff that hasn't happened would you like to cry about?
  • Hillary
I don't hsve a problem arming Hillary and placing her on the streets of Baghdad to fend for herself.
  • I republican DID say it
What do you mean if? Rumsfeld and Bush both said it several years ago and were soundly criticized in the press for it.
  • A republican would just talk about how Halliburton stock may have gone down a point or so.
  • Copy Left
CopyLeft will begin another rant in 3... 2... 1...
  • Copyleft, Hugo's Ghost, and the RPG clan
    Well??? Any thoughts dummies?
  • wrong outlook...
Hillary and the right would both be wrong. All America is doing over there is helping to breed more terrorists. Unless of course you are willing to say that if Iranians were over in America building military bases and telling Americans how to live that it would not provoke Americans. These people have been at it for quite sometime and will continue to be at it. So America is establishing a puppet govt over there that the Iraqis will eventually not trust, simply sounds like a recipe for blowback honestly. Now I guess its time for the idiot Rome era Republicans on here to regurgitate this weeks neo-con mysticism anti-American, anti-logic sound bytes instead of actually looking into a TRADITIONAL anti-leftwing, anti-paternalism non-bankruptcy conservative foreign policy.
  • Imagine if a republican [did/said/thought]....
Who cares what side said it? One irritating similarity between you and Rush is that you both constantly take the actions of a Democrat and say "imagine if a Republican did that! oh noes"

And likewise, if a Republican does something and gets heat over it, "Imagine if a Democrat said/did that!"

It's basically political racism, but instead of blacks vs whites its right vs left, and there's always going to be hostility, and each party is always going to get away with something the other couldn't and the opposite party will always comment on how horrible they are.
  • Taking Credit
Of course; since the Big O is now in charge of our military he is getting Iraq straightened out in short order.

Count on it; Very soon now Obama and Hillary will be taking/given credit for "winning" Iraq. Never mind the definable and verifiable progress made before they took office, while they were vilifying President Bush, our military and their successful efforts in Iraq. They and the entire Democrat party are far too small to give credit where it is due...
