Achievements anyone?

Now why did I ask you good folks to list his achievements right off the bat here? Well, that would be because I can't really think of any. Perhaps that's because I tend to think of achievements in a positive, not a negative sense.

The Fox News crowd had a panel on this morning to discuss Obama's achievements. What's the best they could come up with?

  • He's perfected his brand and he's likable.
  • He has a high popularity rating.
  • He passed the most expensive spending package in history ... one written by the congress, not by him.

These are achievements? This is the best this esteemed Fox panel could come up with?

I guess we won't be able to avoid addressing this "First 100 Days" stuff this week, so hang around. For right now let's just say that the people who will really remember these first 100 days will be your children and grandchildren. They are the ones who will be paying the bills while living in a country where achievement is no longer rewarded.

What others are saying

  • Smaller government
I think that the greatest accomplishment that Obama has done is help us get started on the road to a smaller government.
How has the Bamster done this? By wrecking our economy and creating so many government jobs and wasteful spending that within a very few short years we will NOT be able to borrow any money from anyone, let alone at a reasonable interest rate.

That means, since we will not be able to borrow money, that the entire economy will be in the toilet, and we will have no choice but to reduce the size of government.

Of course, people will be starving, their retirement wiped out by hyperinflation, and our entire way of life destroyed, but we will eventually get a smaller government.
We shouldn't have children in charge. This isn't play time.
  • Copy finally responds with his pack of lies
Thank for handling my light work Joyce.

And Copy, thanks "for doing my homework for me". I feel truly blessed.

If I didn't know what is going on I might actually believe your lies...
  • Can think of only one
American men are getting laid in Europe again. That's gotta count for something.
  • first 100 days
He has done more to destroy this country in < 100 days than any other politian this century. Although they are numerous, a few which I feel are of the most important are as follows:
1)By his lack of experience which revealed itself in his various choices or lack of choices for cabinet positions and with the creation of new positions, and by appointing more czars than Russia.
2)He has exposed our current military to potential increased violence by pacifing the communist ACLU.
3)By refusing to close the borders he has exposed not only the continental states but also Canada to unknown health risks due to the ongoing onslaught of illegal immigrants across our southern borders.
4)He has divided the American people by perpetrating racial and class warfare.
5)He has destroyed the "American Dream" and lowered expectations- as the goverment will provide for everyone equally(except for the elite in power).
  • Obama's first 100 days
He stimulated the gun and ammo sales.
  • President Obamuppets first 100
I think he's the best media appointed community organizer turned President we're ever had!
  • Stem cell clarification
We have been researching embryonic stem cells. The Bush Administration refused Federal funding and increasing the number of stem cell lines, but private industry has been researching them for years.
  • Copy?
I try never to malign any of the people who post here, Neal, but I have to wonder...Does Copyleft just post this stuff to instigate, or does he really believe what he posts? I have been reading your stuff for about the past year, and some of his far-out commentary leaves me wondering sometimes.

I sincerely hope that he's just trying to stir up commentary...cause if he's not, he's got to be one of the biggest pinheads I have ever had the irritation to read. And why, then, does he even read your Nuze? He doesn't agree with any of it. Maybe he should toddle his bad self over to "Crooks and Liars" or some other liberal rag where he can commiserate with others of his ilk.
  • to: Joyce
Well, of COURSE you hate all Pres. Obama's accomplishments, Joyce! I never expected otherwise.

That's just further proof that they're good ideas. Since the far-right loons turn out to have been wrong on... well, pretty much EVERYthing this past decade, a list of initiative that makes them angry and disgusted is a good sign that Obama has made quite a few good moves so far.

So, regarding Neal's original point: I'm sure Obama will never have any accomplishments to point to--in Neal's fantasy world where right-wing lunacy actually matters.
  • So, Copy.....
where do you get your 'news'?

Is anyone else out there sick of the childish liberal sarcasm besides me?
  • Copy
    • Lifting the global gag rule on funding family-planning services and charities (what? global?)
    • Expanded freedom-of-information openness in government documents (except for what we have insisted on from Dodd, and only on half the story such as the interrogation memos but not the results)
    • Ordered the shutdown of Guantanamo (yeah till they move next door to you)
    • Authorized funding for embryonic stem-cell research (there has always been stemcell research, just not funded by the government and other forms of stem cells are giving better results now)
    • Lobbied for, and enacted, an economic stimulus bill to repair the Bush Depression… which Wall Street and Republicans absolutely HATE, so you know it’s a good idea (which was totally unnecessary according to the CBO, etc.)(beginning to feel like I'm repeating myself here)
    • Made a gesture of bipartisanship to Republicans (that was, predictably, rejected by the losers who can’t understand why they keep losing)- (nonsense, they were left out of the planning for the stimulus, etc. just told to sign it)(quit lying about that one)
    • Issued stricter guidelines and limitations on lobbyists’ legal bribery efforts (except for his buddies)
    • Ordered the military to comply with their own laws in interrogating prisoners (and hamstrung them in the process, just like Carter)
    • DIDN'T immediately order the entire Bush administration arrested and flown to a black-ops torture facility for war crimes (you first)(careful what you wish for, not much telling what would come out of those type of investigations, all of Washington could be emptied -- then again maybe we should)
    • Ordered the increase of fuel-efficiency standards (and added Cap & Trade which if it goes through will double many electric bills)
    • Expanded children’s healthcare insurance (CHIP program) (yeah for illegals and 25 year olds, this will bankrupt us)
    • Set a program for repairing and upgrading our energy infrastructure
(using illegal labor to install and foreign parts)
    And best of all…
    • He infuriated the far right by simply existing, which is always a good thing for America. (and this one is just stupid)

Now, I haven't agreed with _everything_ he's done... (WHAT???_) but then, Bush set the bar so very, very low, didn't he?
  • Re; David Hughes
Due to cutting edge research, adult stem cells have offered breakthroughs in cures and treatments. At one point, there were no breakthroughs in adult stem cell research. This is all the more of a reason to explore embryonic stem cell research. The potential is enormous.
  • NoBama for me!
Obama is proving to be a much worse president than Jimmy Carter. I believe that Joe McCarthy was correct when he declared in the fifties that the federal government was riddled with Communists and Communist sympathizers. He was just a few decades early. This government is full of them. Some of their names are: Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, etc. etc.
  • Stan Gable
Name one instance in which embryonic stem cells have yielded viable results. You can't. ADULT stem cells, on the other hand, have. I am a marrow donor. The process I went through to donate stem cells to leukemia patients opened my eyes to a lot about the work going on in labs today. Embryonic stem cells are ineffective at anything more than having something to do with the bodies of murder infants, besides simply throwing them out with the trash.
  • To: Ben (belated)
Sorry, Ben, I forgot that people who get their news from talk radio don’t typically know what’s going on.

But I'm feeling generous, so I'll do your homework for you. I’ll give you a brief recap of President Obama’s greatest achievements so far:

    • Lifting the global gag rule on funding family-planning services and charities
    • Expanded freedom-of-information openness in government documents
    • Ordered the shutdown of Guantanamo
    • Authorized funding for embryonic stem-cell research
    • Lobbied for, and enacted, an economic stimulus bill to repair the Bush Depression… which Wall Street and Republicans absolutely HATE, so you know it’s a good idea
    • Made a gesture of bipartisanship to Republicans (that was, predictably, rejected by the losers who can’t understand why they keep losing)
    • Issued stricter guidelines and limitations on lobbyists’ legal bribery efforts
    • Ordered the military to comply with their own laws in interrogating prisoners
    • DIDN'T immediately order the entire Bush administration arrested and flown to a black-ops torture facility for war crimes
    • Ordered the increase of fuel-efficiency standards
    • Expanded children’s healthcare insurance (CHIP program)
    • Set a program for repairing and upgrading our energy infrastructure

    And best of all…
    • He infuriated the far right by simply existing, which is always a good thing for America.

Now, I haven't agreed with _everything_ he's done... but then, Bush set the bar so very, very low, didn't he?
  • First 100 Days
A definate improvement over his prior achievement of getting elected as President.
  • 1st 100 Days
    Despicable!
  • Re: Ben Dover @ 04/27/09 10:34:39 AM, Still waiting on Copyleft's list
We ALL know that Copyleft doesn't have the Conjones to answer a Direct Question.

When you shilling for the Statist agenda, you can't engage people in direct conversations because it would quickly expose it's Lies and deceptions.

But it's a helluva lot of fun watching someone tauting the little moron.
  • @Voltaire
No, I guess there were never threats againg GWBush. Just actors and novelists calling for his assassination like in the book "Checkpoint" by Nicholson Baker.
  • First 100 days-Achievements
The only thing the "alleged" president has achieved is to significantly make our country less safe and return us all back to a pre 9/11 mentality. Way to go Obama. Hope we don't have another terrorist attack. If we do under your watch, you will have no one to blame but yourself. Keep up the great work. Dummy!
  • One Accomplishment
Obama changed our Cuba policy so Americans with Cuban family ties can pay slaves while enriching their pernicious owners with the 20% cut.
My policy would be to give the Cuban people the second amendment without formality. Drop about 75 million assault rifles and another 75 million combat pistols with ammo to them and let the citizenry practice a little self determination.
  • Failed
Especially on two main points he campaigned on.

    1. Reaching across the aisle - directed Nancy to come up with a stimulus bill, who immediately locked the Republicans out, they had no say so on the contents (course they aren't so great on bills themselves). So no, he has not included both sides. He should have insisted Nancy have them in their little private meeting.

    2. Transparency - 100 days and we have still no reports on exactly how and how much has been spent from any bill. Little spits here and there that don't even add up to 1B.

Carlos, your brother was right. We haven't had a decent politician in decades, but yet the lefties here and on all the other little forums where they can drool over Obama won't admit that Washington has NOT changed.
  • Gov't Jobs
I was interviewing candidates for a position with my company this morning and one gentleman made the most accurate statement I had heard in a while. He previously worked for the government and when asked how work ethic (or lack there of) was rewarded (or diciplined), he said "Its relatively hard to get fired from a government position even if you have no idea what you are doing. Incompetance is abundant." I nearly fell out of my chair!
So I know its not completely relevant to the topic, but I had to share. If Obama achieves what he claims he wants, we'll have more and more government jobs. Since most government agencies are so incredibly efficient, this should really boost our economy! Don't believe me, go into 90% of the DMVs out there. Things should improve any day now..........
Good news for Obama though - he doesn't have to be competant to keep his job either it seems. He just has to continue to be "present".
  • osamabama approval???
so far the house slave has done a great job.

    1. bowed to a desert dwelling pork chop eating terrorist supporting stinking muslim.

    2. let the world know he is a marxist coward.

    3. doesn't give a crap what people think.

some would say he has prevented terrorist attacks here in the U.S., I say bullsh!t! he is attacking from the inside.

    DRIP don't return incumbent politicians
  • Since Obama is the epitome of the anti-achievement
black subculture, it is small wonder that he's achieved exactly NOTHING in his first 100 days. And Neal, to be fair those polls indicate that while his approval rating is fair, his perceived negatives are the highest of any president in modern history.

    What a fraud.
  • Achievements are consistent...
Are we surprised that Obama hasn't achieved greatness in 100 days? What did he achieved that we know of before being elected? "Present." At least he is consistent...
  • Re: "Atlas Shrugged" sales going up and up. Coincidence???
Just remember this except from “Francisco's money speech from Atlas Shrugged:

"Then you will see the rise of the men of the double standard--the men who live by force, yet count on those who live by trade to create the value of their looted money--the men who are the hitchhikers of virtue. In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statutes are written to protect you against them.
But when a society establishes criminals-by-right and looters-by-law--men who use force to seize the wealth of disarmed victims--then money becomes its creators' avenger.
Such looters believe it safe to rob defenseless men, once they've passed a law to disarm them.
  • Bi-Partisanship at work
The most bi-partisan president ever invited republicans to meet with him so he could basically tell them to kiss his butt, he doesn’t need them to nationalize health care.

In a meeting with House Republicans at the White House Thursday, President Obama reminded the minority that the last time he reached out to them, they reacted with zero votes — twice — for his stimulus package. And then he reminded them again. And again. And again.

A GOP source familiar with the meeting said that the president was extremely sensitive — even “thin-skinned” — to the fact that the stimulus bill received no GOP votes in the House. He continually brought it up throughout the meeting.

Obama also offered payback for that goose egg. A major overhaul of the health care system, he told the Republican leadership, would be done using a legislative process known as reconciliation, meaning that the GOP won’t be able to filibuster it.

Congress has until October 15 to pass health care or student lending reform under the normal process. If it doesn’t, reconciliation can be used to eliminate the 60-vote requirement.

Isn’t this new bipartisanship lovely? Those who didn’t go along with the Porkulus bill are told to go to hell, he doesn’t need them to ram nationalized health care down our throats. Oh yeah, this sure is change we can believe in.
  • @By Keith @ 04/27/09 11:04:06 AM
And speaking of myrmidon, Keith. Takes one to know one. What death threat did George Bush ever face? Your comment is completely worthless and pointless, unless your goal is to demonstrate how good you righties are at whining about things that have only happened in your head. Go wipe your tears, baby. Boo hoo, the evil media is biased cause i say so.....wah wah wah.
  • Obama is doing OK
Overall he's done pretty well. I think he was a bit flat on that last song though. Simon seemed to like it but Randy said he was a bit "pitchy". Of course Paula just loves him which probably gives him a good chance of being in the top three. I seriously doubt he's going to be able to beat Adam though. But who knows? Let's see how he does tomorrow night. If he picks the right song, he's stands a good chance of sticking around. I'm sure the votes will be there from all the idol fans.
  • "Atlas Shrugged" sales going up and up. Coincidence???
Perhaps we can thank President Obama for what he's done for the publishing industry:

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/books/04/27/ayn.rand.atlas.shrugged/index.html

"Rand book sales are "going through the roof," said Yaron Brook, the president of the Ayn Rand Institute. According to Brook, "Atlas Shrugged," her most famous novel, has sold more copies in the first four months of 2009 than it did for all of 2008 -- and in 2008, it sold 200,000 copies. It's been in Amazon.com's top 50 for more than a month."

"So many people see the parallels with actually what's going on, with the government taking over the banks, with the government kind of taking over the automobile industry, a president who fires the CEO of a major American corporation. These are the kind of things that come out of 'Atlas Shrugged,' " Brook said."
  • What's with the scrollbars?
Why is my 10:34:34 comment posted with vertical and horizontal scrollbars?

I guess it must be special.
  • Question for damifino
What are all these death threats that Obama's recieived? I remember one story during the campaign about a bunch of idiot bigots who were planning on killing him. I have a hard time believing that the media wouldn't be wall-to-wall coverage of any credible death threat sent to our Glorious Leader.

Frankly, I'd rate the collective psychosis of the left far beyond that of the right. After protecting George W. Bush from the myrmidons who've been fired up by Code Pink, Daily Kos, and the rest, the Secret Service probably feels like they've been given a light duty chit trying to protect Obama.
  • obama worship
anyone seen this yet? i didn't listen to the show today so i don't know if boortz has seen it. painting to be unveiled on obama's 100th day:

  • Obama hits the big 100
It's o.k......he spent the night at a Holiday Inn Express!
  • Stan Gable
You're going to get your girlfriend aborted?

Are you saying your girlfriend hasn't been born yet?
  • NOPE
Nope is insane. hahahahaha. She is acting like Obama is performing abortions. I would love to see insane people like her not use the great achievements that will come from stem cell research. I have to go get my girlfriend aborted now. LATER. hahahaha
  • Hey Copyleft
I'm still waiting on your list.

What's the matter? Even you can't come up with just ONE good thing BO has done?

Here, let me help you out. He honored one campaign promise. He got a dog for his kids. They even named it after him; BO. Should have named the mutt after daddy's idol Karl Barx.

Here's another. He gave the Navy vague enough orders that they finally took it upon themselves to make a real decision and took out a few pirates and rescued an American citizen so he could take full credit.

I know you're here today. I've seen your posts on some of the other topics. Come on, at least you can put your lies up here like a tax cut to 95% of Americans.
  • Jack Welch gave Obama an "A" on leadership
Writing in BusinessWeek recently (not exactly a leftist rag), Jack Welch (a titan of American capitalism who is not exactly a flaming leftist) gave President Obama an "A" on leadership . . . and were still "on the fence" on matters of policy.

    Link at http://www.businessweek.com/mediacenter/podcasts/welchway/welchway_04_10_09.htm
  • He saved money on his car insurance by switching to GEICO.
  • The Left on Obama
The talking points on the left seem to be:

    1) He has never mentioned 100 days. It's an unfair and arbitrary milepost.

    2) He inherited a LOT of problems.
  • Achievements
Well he did get his kids a dog, which is more than Belinda's done for her kids. (sorry, had to say it, love you Belinda!)

But as per Achievements. I you type just that word on YouTube you get a bunch of Xbox videos. Any aspiring movie makers out there want to make an Obama spoof?
  • One remarkable accomplishment
While the "right track - wrong track" and approval polls for Congress are both in the tanks, zerObama somehow magically maintains a positive approval. Apparently Cheney's secret control panel for the Rovian mind control machinery.
  • Obamee's first 100 days
A resounding success!!! That is, asssuming the goal is to destroy this great republic.
  • Obama and the CIA memos
I would say this is a definite voting "present" on the handling of this mess.
  • Obama's accomplishments...
If anyone's really paying attention, Obama is just Bush part 3 with a smile and better command of the English language. The faster neo-cons admit this to themselves the faster we can get back to REAL conservatism. Obama is pretty much continuing or building on the anti-Americanism road Bush was on....

    Knowing this unarguable fact here's what Obama has continued that Bush started;

Financially unaffordable conflicts around the world(notice I didn't say "wars")

Promoting a 'war on terror' while the border remains open.

    Amnesty/Rewards for criminals.

Involvement in countries around the planet where America has no constitutional authority

    Government schools

    Sociliazed medicine

    A Fascist Banking system

    Fascist medical system

No repeal of the anti-American Patriot Act

    An un-audited federal reserve

    the inflation tax

Policing the planet to the tune of bankruptcy.

Providing an efficient recruitment tool for islamic fascists with American military presence on their land.

...and Neal and other Roman empire Republicans who would like to think they are conservatives continue to allow himself to be fooled/bamboozled by leftist neo-con foreign, welfarist policy...what a shame.
  • Truth
Obama's greatest and only accomplishment will be the end of his administration 1360 more days.
  • Re: Gavin Volaire
"obama has accomplished the same thing the bush crowd loved to point out about bush: there hasn't been a terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11."

Your Obama accomplishment is Bush's accomplishment?

Obama had nothing to do with this. If you want to give him credit for no terrorist attacks on our soil since Jan 20 then go right ahead.
  • Gavin
Did you say "terrorist attack"? Careful now, your lefty buddies might get mad at you. Remember its "Man made violence" According to the socialist in office there is no such thing as a "terrorist".
  • He sure talks good.
    And getting better every day.
My younger brother is a government employee and ardent Obama supporter. The last Republican he voted for was Reagan because he was a great speaker. When I asked him what he thought about Bobby Jindal, my brother said that he wasn't a good speaker and that is the most important thing for a president. He also said that there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the republican and democrat parties, it's just what they say to get elected. My brother may be right and that's a scary thought.
    Support the Libertarian Party.
  • First 100 days, first 100 Mistakes - And hey we have 1364 more mistakes to look forward to
By the way, Obozo is a Statist
  • Child murderer
As long as he treats terrorists better than his relatives, and as long as he supports the slow, lingering death of near-aborted children who happen to survive birth, he's nothing but a child muderering traitor.

Sorry, this is the litmus test. It is outright evil to treat America's enemies better than Americans and at the same time support abortion beyond "late term" to the actual death of infants actually surviving birth.

Until he has a "Come to Jesus" moment and realizes what he supports is evil, NOTHING he does matters, nothing he does will have my support.

Satan on a good day is still Satan.
  • @Stan
Stan, if a country is supposed to have a president that people don't like, as you say, then you Bush was the greatest president ever!
  • Generous bell shaped curve
I saw where Obama got a 100; and the GOP got a D. Can anyone show their bias anymore than that?
  • FIRST 100 DAYS
The only accomplishment I can think of is debatable, but he didn't repeat Jimmy Carter's handling of the pirate hostage crisis.
  • Re: Ben Dover @ 04/27/09 08:56:27 AM
    Copyleft
    Where's you list?

If it actually answers a direct question, which we can all doubt, most assuredly it will be filled with Lies and Falsehoods – because that's all the left has these days.
  • same as bush
obama has accomplished the same thing the bush crowd loved to point out about bush: there hasn't been a terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11.
  • HAHA
Neal, you should know not to trust Fox News. That is the biased news you always talk about. I think having a President the people like is not that great of accomplishment. IT IS WHAT A COUNTRY IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE.
  • he survived
He has survived after all the death threats heard thru out and since the election by racist idiots. I guess even hateful racist idiots are smart enough to see if they do in Obama then Biden and Pelosy take over.
  • Obama's First 100
I know one thing he has done flawless. He has brought people like Copyleft, Hugo's Ghost, Stan GayBull, and Gayvin Cornhole out of the closet to demonstrate just how ignorant Americans can be when they rally around a retarded Socialist like Obama.
