ENSURING THE POOR VOTE

Attorney General Eric Holder has his latest marching orders from the Senate: sue any states that aren't helping the needy register to vote. You see, Democrats have made it so that federal law requires agencies to register people to vote when they are distributing government welfare like food stamps or unemployment benefits. The poorer you are, the more uneducated you probably are. The more uneducated you are the more likely you will vote for Democrats. Not all that hard to figure out, is it? Please note that Democrats aren't all that eager to get the achieving class registered to vote. Problem is, neither are the Republicans.

What others are saying

  • Voter registration?
There's no need to register the achieving class, they've already registered because that's the sort of people they are. They pay attention to these little details and make time for them while they're doing other business at the courthouse or the DMV or wherever.

Are the achieving class not voting? If that's the problem we may need to make absentee voting easier, maybe a phone call to get the ballot, self-addressed stamped envelope, they can fill it out well after hours and pop it in the mail the following morning. The only reason I can think for them not voting is they're too busy working to take the time to do it.

More likely, they're just out-numbered by people who've nothing better to do than wait for a Democrat bus to get them to the polls.

  • Hello Friend
I wasn't offered the opportunity to register to vote when I applied for my passport. Of course, they don't want to make it seem like you need identification to register.

I don't think ANY part of the government should be required to "offer" to be registered to vote other than the town, village, city clerk etc.

I'm supposed to make sure I'm registered, not some government worker.
  • Shenanigans
I have to call shenanigans on this one. Everyone is registered to vote (or offered it) when they get their drivers license. Like drivers licenses, welfare is a state-administered program. Registering people when they apply for one government service (permission to drive) is no different than registering those applying for another government service (welfare).

Whether or not you agree that a welfare recipient should be allowed to vote in the first place is another thing. Holder's just being tasked with consistency in reaching as many potential voters as possible.

Many welfare recipients no doubt already have drivers licenses and have already had the offer to be registered to vote. I dare say you need a government issued picture ID to apply for welfare benefits in the first place and even not, the numbers who don't are probably not that large anyway.

It's a tempest in a teapot. A non-issue. You're reading way too much into it.
  • Simple solution to this pompAss
easy.....if the starts were smart they would stop taking federal money.

Then since the state's budget would be tighter cut all welfare programs. That would free up so gosh darn money it would be rediculous. Then give the big middle finger to the federal government.

Plus I really think the Fed Government has no authority to sue the states over voting. But what has stopped them from stomping over the Constitution in the past.....

    People need to wake up.
  • Great. Just great
Let's encourage those riding in the wagon instead of pulling it to have a say in its direction. The fact that feckless republicans rolled over for this back in the 90's just proves they are useless eunuchs. I think Neal is right when he says this county doesn't believe in freedom anymore and so it's demise is coming.
  • We can just call it the "Holder" theorum...
..the stupider the voter, the more likely they will vote Democrat.

Wake up folks, we are seeing the beginnings of the modern national-socialist movement in America. It's all predicated on capturing the minds of stupid people....
  • Holder
It's not the few million "poor" voters that worry me.

It's the 40 MILLION STUPID ONES that are out there f---ing like rabbits.
  • One in the same
Eric Holder and Al Sharpton are one in the same...Like Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.
  • With the only possible exception being members of the military, anyone receiving any government entitlements should not be allowed to vote.
  • more Dumocrats....sigh
This is why I will never forgive W for purposely leaving our southern border wide open. What an idiot!
