Fox News .. being the evil right-wing network that it is ... has actually turned down yet another PrezBO does Prime Time press conference. The administration requested that networks air his 100 day address to the nation during primetime on Wednesday, and Fox News turned it down.

Man does this have the liberal thongs in a wad! That means, of course, that I love it.

We don't need another tradition here. The media is already compelled to carry a state of the union address every year .. and valuable broadcast time is surrendered to the governing authorities several times a year to make room for their propaganda. That, mis amigos, is zactly what this Obama speech will be - propaganda. In years past it has been the province of the media to grade the president on the first 100 days. Obama has already tried to turn this around by having his spokesperson grade the press. Ha ha. Laughed my codpiece off. Now Obama wants to grab the news cycle by doing his own 100-day critique, and Fox News is the only outlet (thus far) to say no. Good show.

  • re:Joke....
I guess next time I'll spell it out just for you, Captain Obvious. Yes, numbnuts, I meant the same joke like 3 other people made after my comment.

As for your weak attempt to explain what it seems like I thought, spare us, Nostradamus. Don't quit your day job.
  • Any giveaways?
Yeah, but maybe the O is gonna give away some more autographed magazines. I'd hate to miss that. I already have a frame for it...it's round, puckered, slightly hairy, and waiting to accept a signed copy of the Onarcissist gift.
  • Lie to Me vs. Presidential Press Conference
So Fox is going to air the show "Lie to Me". Isn't that the same as a PBHO press conference? At least they'll be paid for the airtime.
  • Open Forum?
But then you don't set the rules.

Objecting to the jump in subject is ok, but the Dumb*ss was tacky.
  • To: SF
It hadn't been posted at the time I made my comment, silly man. The Nuze page is a bit slower than reality.

Probably due to so many on the radical right being stuck in the 1950s, perhaps...? (chuckle)
  • jmb
It's all about staying on topic sweetheart. This is not an open forum. Webwench is smart enough to know this..thats why she posted it.
  • S.F.
I'm real surprised webwench posted your stupid remark.
  • Hey Dumb*ss
This story has nothing to do with Spector jumping ship. Try to slow down a little and you will find the story under Neals Nuze. Calm down and try to stay focused. Your like a crack addict waiting for his next hit. (Snicker)
  • Joke....
Seems Gavin thinks it is Fox News that airs "Lie To Me", that's the joke he's looking for....

Others have it correct; everyone watching the old-school networks will choose to watch Lie To Me in one form or another.

Either programming meant to entertain the dumb masses or a serious drama that attempts to solve a crime in 43 minutes (+ commercials).....
  • Specter
That will only give the RINO's an excuse to vote against EVERYTHING from here on out just to look good cause they know it will all get passed anyway.

    Get rid of them all.
  • Money, Money, Money....
I read that Rush Limbaugh said that [summarizing]; if you can get half the people to hate you and the other half to love you, there is a lot of money to be made.

I think the politicians, the pundits and "news outlets" have proven this to be true. Now, if only I can find my niche within this con, I can be wealthy too.
  • Fox News
I love it that they aren't going to show the speech - I hope they don't cave in!!!
  • Gavin
I don't think they'll know till they tune in and don't find it.
  • Thanks Fox!
Hussein's too good to debate on Fox, it stands to reason he must be too good to use them for a propaganda speech. Watch the Justice dept. go after Fox now.
  • Other News
By the way... Has everyone heard that Arlen Specter is switching to the Democrats? When Franken takes his seat, that'll give the American Party (sorry, the "Democratic" Party) a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate!

I can't wait to see tomorrow's spin from the right-wing media. Will Neal try to claim this is somehow GOOD for the Republicans? Will there be lengthy condemnations of Specter as a 'coward and traitor' and "never a REAL Republican anyway" (as though that's a bad thing)?

Will there be cheers for the notion of more "purges" of the party, getting rid of those sane, centrist moderates once and for all? Oh, I just can't wait to see the spectacle!

Really, the right-wing is drowning in so many sour grapes lately that they ought to open a WHINery. (snicker)
  • Press coverage
Well since I don't have cable at least now there will be something on TV to watch.I am already tired of obama's tired rhetoric. Why don't they just let his teleprompter scroll across the bottom? That way we won't have to hear his duhs, ahhs, uhhs and studdering. We haven't been this saturated with presidential press since JFK/
  • Ignore the dude
Ever deal with the neighbor dog who barks just to hear himself bark? Remind you of anybody?
  • O's press conference
Let's stop calling it a press conference and start calling it what it is: a speech sprinkled with handpicked questions and prepared answers. Good for Fox for ignoring it.
  • Legislation forcing air time
Just watch, we will have some congressman introduce legislation requiring all channels to broadcast presidential speeches.
  • Fox not Fox News
Fox will not air the speech ...
    Fox News will ...

Its sweeps-week and rating matter - and Fox feels their regularly sch'd programming will gather more viewers than the POTUS .... its their call and they have the right to do it

But FOX NEWS will air the speech.... Had FOX NEWS turned down the President, then I could understand the hoopla -
  • Where's the Real Neal?
I stop by from time to time hoping the Boortz I used to listnen to 10 years ago will be back. The current version has slipped into right wingnut land and can't get back. The best voice for Libertarians seems to be more concerned with staying in concert with Limbaugh and Hannity.
  • What Speech
I don't know what the big deal is,
he is going to stand up there and tell to believe him not our lying eyes. Then all of the commentary about how wonderful he is.

The two faced libs on this board would have gone ape if Bush had appointed some of these people. We get to hear how hard it has been because he inherited this. He'll claim that our standing in the world has improved when the fact is that the world is POed because everytime he opens his mouth, the economy gets worse. He is going to tell us about all of the jobs he and congress are going to save, but everytime he does something more people are unemployed. BUT IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!

OBAMA Battle Cry - "The beatings will stop when moral improves"
    &
    "No good deed goes unpunished"

    AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER!
  • Poppagander
Yes, Obama's speech would be propaganda, but so was Bush's, Clinton's, the original Bush, need I go further, they are all filling the airwaves with their rhetoric, but truth be told, Obama may not be the best choice but he came out a helluva lot stronger than McCain, so I'll give him a chance.
  • Fox vs White House PR
Anyone else realize that we have been subjected to a 100 day public relations campaign and not a presidency?
  • Laughed your codpiece off?
Couldn't you find something less minuscule to laugh off?

I mean, your pinky ring would be larger than that.
  • Liberal reaction
Anyone care to help Boortz out of what looks like yet another lie and post a link proving his claim that liberal bedwetters are upset by Fox? Anyone? Can't do it, can you, boot lickers?
  • Obama is taking lessons....
...from Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and others leftist dictators! Either there will be an EO or a bill in Congress that will require the networks to air all of the President's news conferences.
  • On the hundred days speech
Does this mean they are going to bring back those Greek columns?
  • Obama praise-conference
don't really give a rats ass to sit thru another praise-a-thon where the only thing interesting is if Obama's teleprompter screws up.I'd rather get a summery from cnn, foxnews,& online news. I'm sure one day all 300 cable channels will ordered to broadcast the "Great One" for our worshiping pleasure but until then I think even a rerun of Gilligan's Island would be more enlightening.
  • Heh
The request was for NEWS networks to air the speech. Obviously Fox Noise doesn't qualify... why would they think this was directed at them?
  • What Was Omitted in the Article
As several others have pointed out, Fox News is covering the press conf. It's only Fox Network that chose to continue regular programming. I'm not sure if this falls into the category of liberal bias, but it is interesting that the article didn't mention Fox News. Nothing like getting all the libs mad at Fox News, even if it's not warranted.
  • RE: All the News that Fits
Actually, in November 2001, not only did FOX (not sure, if network or cable) not take Bush's speech, but also CBS and NBC.
  • Proof that Fox News is Biased
It is there loss. More people will watch the President than Glenn Beck crying cause he is a millionaire that pays taxes.
  • Fox or Fox News
Both owned by same company so it's cool either way.

I love it, can't stand to watch his speeches anymore, get too aggravated by all the copylies (like my new term?). I do read a transcript of it, so I can tune out all the um's and ahs and skip over the spin.
  • All the News that Fits...
Now if Fox News had rejected the press conference, that would be news. How many times did ABC or CBS or NBC fail to air a Bush press conference?
    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
  • The News Conference...
The news conference is going to be broadcast on fox news...but not on the Fox Network. I'd rather it not be broadcast anywhere, but I guess that's why its called the "Bully Pulpit"...
  • @ Steve A.
If you have seen his latest gaffe, you might even say he is not fully qualified to read a teleprompter...
  • Fox
Prezbo has already proven he can read a teleprompter -and we are impressed- but the law of diminishing marginal returns is abounding. Good call Fox.
  • Yay
If you want to be informed, a BO press conference is definitely the place NOT to be
  • Obama speech
I'd rather watch something that has much more reality content in it than Obama's speech. I think perhaps I'll watch Star Wars. Or perhaps something a little more conservative than Obama, perhaps a North Korea state radio broadcast..
  • out'Foxed'
It's like MLB, I just wait for the highlights on ESPN so I don't have to endure bad pitching, weak hitting and grown men scratching themselves in public. I don't care who is showing what, I'll read a good book. It's not like the President really has anything meaningful to tell us about at this time. I do enjoy watching that jacka$$ Gibbs make Scott McClelland look like the President of Mensa! By the way, anybody see the video of Shep Smith and his little meltdown? See, Fox has bleeding hearts in the lineup!
  • Fox
I guess you could honestly say that "Lie to Me" is going to shown all all networks and cable news. One is fictional and one is ....

Now I probably on some "list."
  • Yes, Gavin, there is a joke in there
The other networks will be airing "Lie to Me" too.
  • No Air Time
The MSM shut Bush off with prime time televised events, so why not Obama?
  • Fox
It's FOX network (NOT Fox NEWS) that will not be airing the press conference....
  • Umm, Neal
Once again, Neal, you didn't do your homework.

It's not Fox News that turned him down -- it was the Fox Network (you know, the guys who do the show "24") that turned him down.

Kinda deflates your tire a bit, doesn't it? But for the rest of us, it's good news because the Fox network has a higher viewership aggregate than FNC does.
  • liberal thong wads?
Does anyone have a link to a story talking about this so-called liberal reaction or is Boortz just making things up again?

Fox decided to air "Lie To Me" instead -- I know there's a joke in there somewhere...
  • Read the article...
...and you clowns would not have to correct Neal on here.
  • you're right neal
i don't think the people need to worry about what the president's saying. let the people go back to watching sponge bob. if they don't hear about it, it won't effect them.

you have deviated from the libertarian viewpoint, that the best informed citizen is the only citizen worth having.

    good show, neal, you LINO.
  • Fox NEWS vs. Fox CHANNEL
Fox NEWS on cable will carry PrezBO, Fox CHANNEL, WAGA-TV in Atlanta, will not, choosing not the lose prime-time ad money over a worthless hour of PrezBO preening, and being fawned over, on national TV. "Lie to Me" will be the alternate to PrezBO, and I can't wait to see the ratings!
  • Fox Shrugs 100 Day Speech
    Kudos to Fox!

Let's see if Fox also gets the highest viewing for that time spot!
  • Isn't it just Fox Network
For some reason, I thought it was only the FOX network that's not running the speech. I thought FNC and FBC would carry the speech, but due to American Idol and sweeps week, the speech will not be shown on the affiliates.
  • Be Careful Fox...
Resistance is futile. If you do not comply, this administration will simply take over your company in the interests of "hope" and public "unity".
  • Fox News?
    Neal,

I think it's the Fox NETWORK that isn't showing the speech. You know, the one with "24" and your friend and mine Jeanean Garofalo or whatever her name is.
  • Obama news conference
The AP article makes reference to the Fox entertainment network and not the Fox News Channel.
  • Fox
It is not Fox News, just the Fox network.
  • Umm... Fox Broadcast
    Fox Broadcast, not Fox News
  • Fox not Fox News
You mean Fox broadcast network not Fox News
