WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE MEDIA

Tomorrow there will be dozens of protests around the country. Thousands of people. These are people who have had it with our current level of spending, wasteful uses of our tax dollars and big government policies that have strayed from the basic foundations of this country. These are people who are supporting real change, like the FairTax. I'll be in Columbia, SC tomorrow night with thousands of people who are supporting an idea of how we can go about getting our country back into the hands of the people.

It is going to be a historic day. But I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that you won't see much coverage in the lamestream media. Well ... maybe on Fox News, talk radio and perhaps some local rags ... there won't be much in the way of network coverage. The liberal media considers these protestors to be nothing less than selfish conservatives who simply don't want to pay their "fair share" of taxes. That's it. There's nothing more to the story for the mainstream media ... so to them there's nothing new worth covering.

And in keeping with the theme of taxes .......

A new report being released today finds that millions of citizens and illegal aliens will apply for tax refunds that they don't deserve. I know you are shocked, right? The report's official title is The Earned Income Tax Credit and Illegal Immigration: A Study in Fraud, Abuse, and Liberal Activism, and it was conducted by financial analyst and economist Edwin Rubenstein.

Rubenstein found that the Earned Income Tax Credit is "the largest anti-poverty program in the United States -- and the most illegal-immigrant friendly." He found that about 30% of all Earned Income Tax Credit claims were improperly paid. That equates to about 6 to 7 million households and $12 to $14 billion in fraudulent payments. The Earned Income Tax Credit is "the most accessible of the major entitlement programs and used by more people than food stamps and welfare combined."

Those are your tax dollars.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GREEN JOBS

Barack Obama's plan to create green jobs in this country is purely in efforts to expand the number of workers on the government dole. This man is in love with government, and the more people who are getting their paychecks from the government, the better off this country will be.

So when it comes to these "green jobs" .. you do realize that this is an industry that is being created by government for government. This isn't about global warming or saving the planet. It is about government control. And Barack Obama has modeled his plan to create green jobs after Spain's recent efforts create green jobs.

But here are the ugly facts ... every "green job" that was funded by the Spanish government caused the loss of 2.2 regular jobs, or about 9 jobs lost for every 4 created. And - and this is a big one - only one out of the 10 newly created green jobs became a permanent job. In other words, folks. This isn't long term stimulus. This is a government-created industry that will create a temporary surge in jobs that aren't permanent and will squeeze out private sector growth.

Oh and there is more. Now Spain has been at it for about eight to ten years. And when this economic crisis hit, the study shows that Spain's "green jobs" policy hindered its ability to cope with the crisis. Which is ironic, considering that Barack Obama feels that created "green jobs" will be America's way of getting out of this crisis.

Speaking of green jobs, I've been reading reports recently of community colleges that are seeing a surge in unemployed workers enrolling in courses that offer training in "green-collar" jobs. These are the people that will be installing solar panels and repairing wind turbines and producing biofuels.

But guess what ... all of these people are getting trained, but where are the jobs? The current financial crisis has caused the green industry to take a major hit. Businesses are drying up. So what we will have are a lot of trained workers and too few jobs.

THE FIGHT OVER STUDENT LOANS

There's another idea floating around in Washington DC right now. Barack Obama wants to end a government-subsidized student loan program and redirect billions of dollars in bank profits to scholarships for "needy" students. A lot of private student lenders as well as Congressmen are upset by the plan.

They are upset because it would make spending on Pell grants mandatory. And it would limit Congressional control ... see, it's all about maintaining power, folks. Republicans say it is just another effort to vastly expand the imperial federal government.

The Congressional Budget Office did a report on how much money would be saved by replacing subsidized loans made by private banks with direct government lending. The figure: $94 billion over the next decade. And that money would be used to expand Pell grants for poor students.

Finally, over a week later, the United Nations condemned North Korea's missile launch. The Security Council also said that it will expand sanctions and demanded the end of missile tests.

Obama eased restrictions allowing Americans to make unlimited trips to Cuba and transfer money to family on the island.

Are you really buying this line that work from the economic stimulus bill is coming in "ahead of schedule and under budget?" Yeah, I didn't think so.

A lot of people are upset that Barack Obama is considering boycotting the UN's international conference on racism.

Where are Gitmo detainees going to end up? Some think it may be Virginia.

A bloc of Islamic countries want to set up their own "independent human rights commission."

Will tax refunds help boost the economy in the coming months? Not as likely, given this economy.

Howard Dean is back in action, and he is using the limelight to promote government healthcare.

How do Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats plan on going after legal gun owners in America? Princess Nancy just wants them all registered.

Get out the pitchforks. The CEO of Exxon got a 10% raise in 2008.

Sad news for you warmers ... Al Gore's TV company, Current Media, has had to cancel plans for a 100-million-dollar IPO.

Someone is finally getting it .. two Florida lawmakers are pushing to end the practice of wasting taxpayer dollars on public art.

When you see a headline like, "White House Reaches Out to DC's Troubled Schools," the first thing that pops into my mind is allowing the DC voucher program to continue. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

How much money are illegal aliens costing the taxpayers of Florida every year? If you guessed a billion dollars ... keep guessing.

California is considering a bill that would limit the amount of time children in day cares that receive state funds could play video games, watch TV or be on the computer.

Vermont is considering a bill that would make it legal for teenagers to engage in "sexting" with each other.
