WEAKNESS OR STRENGTH

The United States tells them not to do it. The useless United Nations tells them not to do it. They do it. It has been five days since North Korea launched a missile capable of reaching Hawaii. What is America's response? What is the international response? The silence is deafening. What are we showing here? Weakness or strength?

The mad man that runs Iran is bragging that they now have 7000 centrifuges up and running making enriched nuclear weapons-grade fuel. He also brags that they have developed a technology that enhances the enrichment progress. At the same time the Iranian president continues to say that Israel's days are limited. In the meantime Vice President Joe Biden warns Israel that they had better not even think about attacking Iran. No strong warning to Iran. What are we projecting here, strength or weakness?

The Islamic pirates continue to hold an American hostage off the coast of Somalia. We're talking, not acting. So far I have not heard about any search for the pirate mother ship and there's no talk of blockading Somalian ports. The pirates may well end up with millions of dollars and safe passage to Somalia where they will release their American hostage. Strength or weakness?

The American the ragtag Islamic pirates are holding tried to escape. He dove out of the boat and into the water and tried to get away. Our Navy was standing off and not close enough to help him. The Islamic pirates overtook him and took him into custody again. This man tried to escape in full view of American forces. They were either unable or unwilling to help him. Perhaps the American Captain thought that when he was out of the pirate's boat the Navy would blow them away. Didn't happen. Strength or Weakness?

America - once strong, now cowering.

Change you can believe in?

Hillary gave a short little speech the other day about the pirate situation off the coast of Somalia. Just take a quick look at the video and tell me what you think is going through this woman's mind.

THE GOVERNMENT IS BUYING CARS

Barack Obama has decided to help out the auto industry by having the government purchase 17,600 new US-made fuel-efficient cars. These are cars that the government more than likely doesn't need. But they will be purchased in order to boost the auto industry. Is this a long term boost? A true economic stimulus? Absolutely not. It is nothing but a government gimmick. The government is not really buying these cars. The government doesn't have the money. The government is borrowing the money and sticking you, the taxpayers, for the payments. All this to make some sort of a political point about green cars.

Imagine what the American taxpayers could do with $285 million. You could spend it on cars that you will actually want! Not cars that the government wants you to want. Buying what you want is a free market exercise. Buying what the government wants you to buy - or the government buying it in your name --- well, that's certainly not free enterprise.

The government decides what you want. More change you can believe in.

Trying to figure out some unique ways to use my Twitter account. With 2000 followers now, I want to make it worth your while. So ... if you're listening to the show and I come up with an interesting story, picture .. whatever .. I'll post a tweet with the URL for that story so you can follow up on your own. Sound like a plan? Look for "Talkmaster." And guess what? Jamie Dupree is joining in on the Twitter fun. To get his tweets from Washington D.C., follow him here.

And speaking of stimulus. Joe Biden announced that $2.3 billion in federal stimulus money is going to be spent on child care programs and to help the "less fortunate" get vaccinated.

Again, my question remains: how in the hell is the economic stimulus?

The money will go to the Child Care and Development Fund that can help states pay for child care for parents who are working, looking for work or going to school. The concept of these people actually funding their own means of child care is not an option .. because it doesn't make them dependent on government. And Joe Biden says that these parents "shouldn't have to worry about finding affordable, quality day care." Why shouldn't they have to worry about it? It is their child! This child does not belong to the government. The parents chose to bring this child into the world and therefore should be responsible for taking care of it, and that includes finding a dang babysitter. It is not the government's job to provide you with a babysitting service.

Oh and the other part of this announcement included $300 million to help the "less fortunate" get vaccinated. Don't ya just love that phrase .. the less fortunate? It implies that somehow, you are able to pay for your own vaccinations because you are lucky. And that person over there, they can't afford it because they have been unlucky. Therefore the government should pay to help them in their misfortune.

And part of this money will also be used to educate people about the importance of getting their shots. Again, my question: how is educating people on the importance of getting shots going to stimulate our economy? Seems like a simple question, considering this was included in an "economic stimulus" bill.

End result? A few more people are added to the list of those who believe that their health care is the responsibility of the government. That's the goal here ... government dependency. Nothing less.

JUST WHAT WE NEED. MORE GOVERNMENT

Our education secretary Arne Duncan had a message for your government educated children out there: Americans need to be in class more. Yep. He wants a six day school week and wants classes to run at least 11 months a year.

Hey, Arne. Here's an idea. Maybe the solution isn't more government indoctrination. Maybe the solution would be to take our children out of the hands of government and let them be educated in schools their parents choose. You might also give some thought to getting rid of the politically correct aspects of our education system and actually try to get back to teaching the basics. You may find this hard to believe, Secretary Duncan, but John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington are actually more important figures in our history than Harriet Tubman. If you really want to compete with schools in India and China, our government education system isn't the way to do it. You could board the children and make them sing "God Bless America" in their sleep ... but they are still coming out with a government education.

And perhaps my favorite part of the whole story is this .... Arne was giving this speech to 400 middle and high school students at a government school in northeast Denver. And when he made the suggestion of adding more class time, he told the children that they could boo him all they want. But instead, Arne was met with nothing more than bored stares.

Yep, that sounds about right. Half of the students were probably text messaging on their cell phones. The other half were probably concerned about who was getting kicked off American Idol that night. The fact is, none of them even cared.

How sad. Almost sad as the thought that this clown actually believes that we'll ever send our children to school six days a week 11 months a year. Ain't going to happen.

THE AMERICAN SPIRIT

Alright. I know things lately have been doom-and-gloom. Look, the Obama administration just hasn't really given me much to feel all warm and fuzzy about. But in efforts to leave you with a good taste in your mouth for this Easter weekend, I'll tell you a quick story.

You can find the whole thing on CNN, but there is a state park on Hawaii's Kauai island. And this Polihale State Park has been closed since December after suffering severe flooding. In fact, the flooding was so bad that it destroyed an access road to the park. So even if you wanted to get to the Polihale State Park, you couldn't.

Local residents and business owners started to get nervous. Months went by and our wonderful, all-knowing, all-powerful government did not come to the rescue. The state Department of Land and Natural Resources estimated that it would cost $4 million to fix the damages, including the access road to the park. They also said it would take two years before it would be fixed. And that was if .. in these economic times .. there was money in the budget to do so.

So rather than sit around and wait for the government to do something, the people of Kauai came together and did the repairs themselves. It only took them eight days to finish all the repairs. Eight days .. compared to two years. And it didn't cost the taxpayers a dime.

One volunteer said, "We can wait around for the state or federal government to make this move, or we can go out and do our part ... Just like everyone's sitting around waiting for a stimulus check, we were waiting for this but decided we couldn't wait anymore."

Good for them!

The truly amazing of this story is that the government didn't step in and prevent these people from handling the situation themselves.

Here's a fun read: Barak Obama: President Pantywaist - new surrender monkey on the block.

Striking more fear into the hearts of our enemies .. the CIA is decommissioning "black sites" where terrorism suspects were interrogated.

When pirates attack United States sailors, John Kerry wants to hold hearings. You do know that even Democrats consider Kerry to be a pompous jerk, don't you? Kerry is nervous about Al Franken. He likes his status as the Senates number one puffed-up windbag.

John McCain says that we need to get tough on North Korea. Duhhhhhh.

Meanwhile, yesterday North Korea re-elected the gargoyle Kim Jong il as its supreme military leader. "Elected." Yeah ... that's the story. He looks sick. I mean physically sick. Maybe he got some STD from one of the pleasure girls he likes to have around.

Well isn't this convenient ... our Treasury won't say whether or not it has refused to allow banks to give back bailout money. Keeping us in the dark ... the Obama way.

Here's an interesting question: Is Obama too talented to be a 'crisis president'? "Talented?" Who came up with that description?

A town in South Wales has banned hanging flower baskets because the government is afraid that workers might hurt themselves trying to water them.

There is an iPhone application that will track every single dollar that our government is spending to bail us out of this financial crisis. Someone is getting rich from this app. He will soon be the target of Democrat hatred.

A cardboard box that uses solar power to cook food and sterilize water has won a $75,000 prize for ideas to fight the man-made hoax of global warming.

Police in Cleveland are so concerned about people skinny dipping that they are going to use city police helicopters to fly around at night and spot naked swimmers. Now there's an efficient use of resources.

Finally, someone has created a "dog-friendly" car. Unfortunately it wasn't one of our struggling US auto makers.

Time Magazine has a top 10 list of secret service code names. I don't have one. Don't want one.
