"Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."

Well ... That is about what we expected from the G20 summit. World leaders pledged over a trillion dollars to poor countries. More seizure and redistribution of wealth. Other countries didn't bite at Obama's grand plan to stimulate the global economy by spending more money. Angela and Nicolas got somewhat of a compromise on their global financial regulators. The communiqué established the creation of a supervisory body to "flag" problems in the global financial system. Supervisory today .. regulatory tomorrow?

For all you wealth-envy types, you will be happy to know that the honchos managed to "bridge the gap" in terms of how far governments should go to regulate the market and curb what the political class deems to be "excesses." Obama says that world leaders have agreed on principles that would bring accountability and transparency to executive compensation at corporations. Note, please, that this communiqué wasn't limited to corporations receiving taxpayer bailout money. We are talking about Corporations ---Period. Obama says that company shareholders should be able to vote on executive compensation, implementing some sort of "shame function" into the establishment of corporate salaries.

"Shame." That is the word that our president would like to associate with evil CEOs and executive. If you receive compensation that is not in keeping with some politically set global standard, then you should be feeling shame.

Please tell me you don't actually think that this effort to control executive compensation is going to end with companies that receive bailout funds. Democrats - and some Republicans - know that wealth envy and hatred is at a historical high right now. They've been working for decades to bring us to this point - and now it's time to exploit. If these politicians can excuse limits on compensation based on the fact that the involved companies are receiving bailout funds, why not extend those controls to all companies with government contracts? How easy would it be to make the argument that any defense contractor should not be allowed to "unfairly" enrich top executives "at the expense of our men and women serving their country overseas." Once we have established the government contractor controls, we can extend the controls to any companies who supply goods or services to these contractors.

Smack down the executives with their high salaries and become a hero to the jealous class. There are far more people envious of highly compensated executives than there are people making a million a year. Count the votes and you'll see where this is going. The result will be executive and financial talent fleeing this country to work where the compensation matches the contribution.

We just went through the best four weeks for the Dow since 1933 .. can we call off all of these spending plans now?

Newt Gingrich is waving the warning sign for the Republican Party. He believes that more and more conservatives will be leaving the GOP in the 2012 elections for a third party.

Newt said at a speech at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri, "If the Republicans can't break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012 ... If you're going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama's first two, three months."

So where are they going to go? The likely choice would be the Libertarian Party .. if conservatives truly want to return to a political party based on freedom, liberty and limited government. Trouble is, the Libertarian party can't seem to recognize international threats against America, and our need to realistic address those threats. Bob Barr, the last Libertarian presidential candidate, called our troops in Iraq "occupiers." He adamantly refused to use the word "liberators." I couldn't vote for him on that basis alone.

Back to Newt: He also points out, "During the period I was speaker, the U.S. government - for four years - total growth was 2 percent a year. Under Bush, it was 6.1 percent. ... This year, I think it will be 36 percent in one year." Can you even wrap your brain around that, folks? Our government is growing at a rate that is absolutely unsustainable. And who is going to rein it in? Certainly not Barack Obama and the Democrats. And clearly, the Republicans haven't proven themselves to be able to do so either. So who is going to stand up a lead us back to a nation governed by freedom rather than government dependence?

Just a thought.

By the way .. if the Republican Party is going to split ... let's leave those who are completely obsessed over the issue of abortion standing on the side of the road. (Oh man, wait until you see the comments on THIS one?)

You are going to love this. We've known for a while now that Barack Obama has had a vision for the auto companies long before he'd be able to use this economic crisis as an excuse to execute his plan. And that vision is to require the auto industry to build cars that would please the environmentalists, if not the consumers.

The White House has released a report of General Motors that says the company's restructuring plan will not lead to a stronger company. And why is this? Because GM's proposal relies heavily on advanced, fuel-efficient cars, which are not commercially viable. Cars like the Chevy Volt, which is too expensive to be commercially successful.

So Obama's Auto Task Force comes out and says that GM's restructuring plan isn't viable because they are doing what President Obama wants them to do: build a "green" auto industry. According to this task force, the plan is based on economic assumptions are leave little room for error.

And even if GM succeeds in making and selling "green" cars ... the task force says that "it will not lead to a viable company because it will not be able to make enough money to weather future economic slowdowns ... Even if the projected plan is achieved, the cash flow forecast is quite modest, leaving the company little margin for error in what will be a very difficult turnaround."

Suspiciously missing from the task force's report is the crushing costs of GM's labor force. Keep in mind that GM was required, under the original terms of the bailout, to modify labor contracts. And the task force acknowledges that GM has failed to successfully renegotiate these contracts, but does not cite it as a reason as to why GM's plan is not viable.

Either way, there is one simple way to renegotiate these union contracts. Bankruptcy. Obama is using the term "structured bankruptcy." What would you like to wager that any Obama-approved "structured bankruptcy" contains some pretty strong protections for the unions. Democrats aren't quite ready to eat their own.

Our home state of Georgia is having a little brouhaha right now over proposed legislation that would require that new drivers take a written license test in English. Why should there be an argument over this? Aren't the traffic signs in English?

Speaking of Georgia, Michael Vick .... yeah, the guy is going to work construction when he gets out of prison. I'm calling BS on this one. You let me know when he drives his first nail.

Looks like PrezBO's scheme for a global warming tax has hit some rough waters. Maybe some of the folks in congress are ready to admit that this whole thing is a money-grabbing scam.

A federal judge says that US civilian courts will be able to handle the cases of Gitmo detainees. That's just great. Give these terrorists access to the U.S. judicial system and our Constitution.

Guess who is still going to have his hand in government healthcare reform? Tom Daschle. And here's how.

Meanwhile, Democrats in Washington are trying to come up with a compromise on government healthcare reform. Democrats? Compromise?

The Heritage Foundation explains how the 2009 energy bill is anti-market and anti-consumer.

How are the auto companies going to survive under a European-style government at American tax rates? The answer is that some aren't going to make it.

The Washington Times says that Obama's trip to Europe is causing a lot of strain on the Air Force, which has had to compensate by hiring foreign contractors to help resupply troops in Afghanistan. Question: Did these foreign contractors get the work without a bidding process? Under Bush that would have caused quite a stir.

Republicans in Alaska want to redo the election for the Senate seat that was barely won by Democrat Mark Begich over Republican Ted Stevens. Know what? I agree with them. Stevens was screwed over by the Justice Department and a Democrat U.S. Attorney.

Right now Hillary and others are up in arms over the number of US guns being used in Mexico. But are 90% of guns used in Mexico actually coming from the United States? This is a bit tricky ... all is not what it seems. But that is certainly what the media would like you to believe.

A college student in Utah thought it would be real cute to run up auction prices on oil and gas parcels. He'll learn his lesson as he is now facing 10 years in prison and a $750,000 fine.

Obama has officially chosen his census director ....... If you want an honest count this isn't the guy.

Afghanistan has legalized rape. That's the peaceful religion of Islam for you.

A federal judge has barred the district attorney of Wyoming County, Pa. from prosecuting three teen girls on felony child pornography charges for "sexting" nude photos of themselves.
