Its a sad day when people leave KEY words out of someones speech in order to suggest someone said something they did not ..there is a huge difference in knowing socialism has never succeeded and saying he hopes that IF Obama tries to impliment it here , he fails at THAT, and what is being claimed he said ..that the president fails .When did we become such a nation of liars ? and defending liars in order to smear the other side?

I didn't hear Limbaugh make this comment about Obama failing. Why? Because I stopped listening to his show a couple of years ago. Why? There was a report about alcohol possibly causing breast cancer that was really being talked-up by the media and Limbaugh said "...well so do abortions but they aren't trying to scare us with that." So basically what he was saying is abortions cause cancer which is a load of crap. Neal, you know as well as I do it's a load of crap. But unfortunately there are a lot of sheep out there that listen to his show that do believe that sort of crap. I think a lot of people on the left are making too big a deal out of this whole thing, after all he's just a fat guy with an opinion. If you don't agree with him or don't like him then stop listening. Like me. However, I believe he is a defacto leader or voice for the conservative Republicans so maybe they should try to reign him in or maybe he should be a little more careful about what he says and how he says it. You conservatives often say things like "...those professional athletes, pop singers, and movie celebrities are role models whether they like it or not..." It cuts both ways, nuts like Limbaugh and Coulter are your public leaders, your public voice, they speak for you whether you like it or not. If you don't like the idea of that then stop gushing over them, stop listening to them, stop reading their books and learn to think for yourself. duuuuhhhh

I was volunteering at the American Red Cross on Sept 11 2001 - as the first tower was burning - remember, no one had any idea how many people were in that building - at the time, it could have been 10,000. Even though I did'nt vote for him, at the time of his election I stated that I hope Obama would succeed in restoring America's economy. Since Obama was sworn in he has made every effort to make our economic condition worse. Obama is a failure, not only as a president, but also as a man. He is a liar and hates the country he was elected to serve. I only hope that enough decent Americans will see through his facade and force him to fail in his perverted quest to destroy the country I love.

What Rush said was wrong and you wing nuts know it. You can misquote him and say "what he basically said was..." or you can fill for his retraction and re comment that what he "really meant" was.... Carville did come out and retract his statement after the attacks of 9/11. This brings up the question to me, why did he retract his statement? Did he no longer oppose the President's policies? Did the policies, in Carville's world, become more appropriate after the US was attacked?

I doubt it. It would would appear that the primary reason for retracting such statements would be to show solidarity with the Commander-In-Chief. That's nice, but does it translate into an approval of policy ideals? It is clear that Carville did not change his opinion regarding policies. Therefore, the reason for retracting the statement was not for the benefit of the President, but rather, it was a decision based on the emotion of the moment designed to protect Carville's reputation. The epitome of political hypocrisy. And for this Carville is to be applauded?!?

Limbaugh by contrast is standing firm with his belief. Without succumbing to the political demagoguery thrust his way.
