No .. .I didn't watch the press conference. No ... I haven't read about it. There's a purpose behind this madness. Royal, you see, has selected some of the questions the press threw at PrezBO last night and separated them into audio files. I will play the role of the president on the show today and will respond to those questions as (a) I would if I were president, or (b) as Obama would if he were honest. Be tuned in .. this ought to be fun. If you missed it, we'll send it out in today's Boortz Blast newsletter. If you haven't subscribed yet, sign up here.

YouTube has the whole press conference up in case you missed it and actually want to watch. Here's the first part:

Also, our pal Jamie Dupree tuned in. Here is his analysis.

  • D.D. = Dumb and Dumber?
How about reading what you write before posting next time? I'm guessing somewhere in that mess you attempt to defend Bush's record on jobs and the economy so let me ask you a few questions, D&D. Are you aware of the fact that the national debt doubled under Bush? Did you know Clinton balanced the budget? Do you realize Bush is considered the most fiscally irresponsible President ever by his own head of the GAO? Did you know he is at the bottom in job creation comparisons? And since you know "people like me" so well, can you show me where I have defended Obama on anything? I'll help you with that one, Dumb&Dumber, the answer is no.
  • Re: my last post
On reflection of my last post, my sincerest apologies to Don Knotts and his family - God rest his soul.
  • twilight zone
I resorted to my usual tactic last night of watching something - anything - other than one of His Exaltedness' infomercials. TV Land was running the Andy Griffith show, and I watched some of it until a commercial break. Surfing through other channels during commercials is a little idiosyncrasy of mine, and what I saw was a little unnerving, because Barney Fife was on a bunch of these other channels, standing before a podium and stuttering his way through drivel. It was scary, and I returned to the TV Land channel and endured the rest of the commercials there until the show resumed.
  • Press conference
I nodded off.Did I miss anything?Or is he still stammering?

You claim you can admit Bush made plenty of mistakes but you absolve him from blame for the economy and unemployment.

Ya people like you! Once again I prove my point. The terrible economy with the stock market over 13,000, unemployment lower then it had been in a long time. Ya I see your point, OBOZO has really taken charge. He and the Libs are just fixing things right and left! How could I have missed that!

Again, no defense of Obama, tied shot at Bush.
  • to AWK 829
You know, I was going to agree with AWKL to the extent if I were choosing a basketball team, i'd take obozo over President Bush; but then I thought. Whou would be the better team player? Who would pass the ball rather than hog it? Who would run up and down the court and play a good defense - v being the first to release?

I guess I'll take President Bush on this over obozo just the same, even when fielding a Basketball TEAM.
  • RE: awk & Gavin
Can't argue the truth so you make stuff up? I never said Obama was smooth. Heck, I never even said he was smooth compared to The Decider. If not for her bias, Joyce would tell you to read before you speak.
  • 2 days to answer a question?
When asked by Ed Henry why the administration took so long to respond to the AIG flap at last night's presser.

OBAMA/TOTUS: “It took us a couple of days because I like to know what I’m talking about before I speak.”

And who is "us"? Yeah, AWK, your boy is really sharp.
  • Sacrifice
OBAMA: Let's show people the economy’s affecting me, too. But how?

AXELROD: At our Wednesday Happy Hours, serve Wagyu burgers instead of Wagyu steak, sir. Fire the sushi chef.

OBAMA: Smart. Rahm, notify SecNav to stop flying in fresh bluefin from Tokyo. Bob?

GIBBS: Cut back on restaurant and movie outings, sir. Eat in with a few dozen friends and watch films in your theater, like regular people on a budget. And no new Presidential yacht.

OBAMA: Ouch. That hurts. Um, tell reporters the Obamas will spend August vacation at Camp David clearing brush. Hillary, advise Brown those dvds were loaners, not gifts. Rahm?

EMANUEL: Word’s leaked you’re converting EOB offices to residences for Michelle’s relatives, sir.

OBAMA: Damn! As it is, I can’t turn around without tripping over a cousin. Say ''historic restoration'' if it comes up. Tim, how’s my blind trust doing?

GEITHNER: Buying gold on November 5th was prescient, sir. Who says you don’t understand the market?

MICHELLE: No yacht? Then refit a carrier. And I still want a tiara for state dinners. You hear me, Barack?
  • AWK 829
"And, by the way, please give me an example of what you consider to be a "softball question" from last night's press conference."

It does not matter what questions were asked; Obama did not answer any of the questions. He was asked about Israel and the next thing you know BO is talking his "health care" plan. Huh??
All questions led to his budget, and government run "health care".
  • awk & Gavin
Your commecnts about PBO being smooth and Bush stumbling is a very poor comparison. If Bush had read every single comment from a screen, he might have been smooth too. Have you not caught PBO when he is uh..uh..uh..uh.. off the uh..uh..uh. prompter? The man has trouble forming a sentence.
  • AWK Ask and you shall recieve.
This is what I would consider a "softball" question. "Q: Yours is a rather historic presidency. And I'm just wondering whether, in any of the policy debates that you've had within the White House, the issue of race has come up or whether it has in the way you feel you've been perceived by other leaders or by the American people? Or has the last 64 days been a relatively colorblind time?".

Also, I'm not a foe of Obama. We aren't going to meet on the battlefield or have a duel Aaron Burr style. I do however believe that the president should not be telling foreign dignitaries that he is too tired to meet them, but not too tired to go on TV three separate times in the last month.

He himself said about the country and government that, "we are going to stay with it as long as I'm in this office, and I think that -- you look back four years from now, I think, hopefully, people will judge that body of work and say, this is a big ocean liner. It's not a speedboat. It doesn't turn around immediately." He's right it is an ocean liner, so there is no need to give me a status every week about the 1 degree of turn that has been made. Make the conferences quarterly, that's four times a year for those that don't have an understanding of quarters, or semi-annual, or perhaps annual, (oh wait that is the State of the Union Address.). I think he has a lot of potential, but only his sheeple need to see him every day on TV. I mean what would they do without their father Obama?
  • chore boy
What's a chore boy? That some sort of gay code you use in airport restrooms?

You claim you can admit Bush made plenty of mistakes but you absolve him from blame for the economy and unemployment.

People like me? You know not of what you speak.

Heck of a job, Chore Boy!
  • AWK
"his foes"? Excuse me, but he is not in a position to have foes or sympathizers, he is President of the USA, which means HE WORKS FOR US!!! We are his employer and we can judge his work anytime we like!

    Foes? That's asinine.
  • None of what AWK writes makes any sense
because Obama fails to prove that he has the mental facilities to do anything on his own WITHOUT THE TELEPROMPTER. EVERY, SINGLE time he goes off-cue, he hesitates, stutters, stammers...thinks looooooooong and haaaaaaaard about formulating even the simplest of responses to softball questions....

Your president is a fraud and we know it. The laughter grows louder at each press conference....
  • no more teleprompter??? yeah right!!!!
Check this out...no more 'teleprompter' just a HUGE A$$ tv for him to stare at. I knew something was up when his head never turned to the side!

  • re: Memo
Do you have a learning disorder? The point is precisely whether or not Bush was a great speaker. Lemme recap the thread for you, dummy. One guy said at least Obama is articulate. Some touchy little whiner made the moronic claim that Bush, while a member of the alleged party of personal responsibility, isn't responsible for making himself unavailable to the media because they were mean to him. See what happened is Bush was in a room somewhere, babbling away about that awesome mission he accomplished but the stupid mean media was too dumb to find him.

So I said I didn't agree. You get a grip.

Hey Joyce, this is my first chance to say this: I agree with you! And yeah, Obama does seem to get a look like "How dare you?"
  • What the heck to folks expect ??
Hey, what the heck to folks expect??? We elected a guy that is the definition of an empty suit. He can’t speak unless he has his teleprompter and if he does he sticks his foot in his mouth. He has no executive experience, yes he’s an intelligent individual, but he’s an idealistic flaming liberal and from his actions has no real interest in fixing the economy. He speaks compassion, but his agenda comes first and you/we just have to suck it up. Remember 2010 and vote ...
  • Your answering the presser questions
on behalf of the other radio stations, thank you for saving your response (and therefore maintain your ignorance of) the presser last night until the last few minutes of the show.

It made for a more boring than usual discussion of the event, and that helps our ratings.

In the past, you might have started the show with your answers, so the audience could discuss it for the whole show.

    Thanks,

The other radio stations in towns around America
  • Speech end?
He refuses to end his speech ( or even say) God bless America!
  • TOTUS press conference
When the Teleprompter Of The United States gave its press conference last night, I had the eery impression that David Axelrod was on the podium...
  • press conference
I was jealous last night. I was replaced by a giant screen.

To Gavin, GWB spoke from his heart. Obama cannot do that as I have no heart.
  • Winston Freaking Churchill
Gavin Volaire writes: "It's not Bush's fault!!! Wah! Wah! Wah! It's the media! They did it! He never did anything wrong! Wah! Wah! Wah! I want my mommy!"

Compared to this clown, Bush was a chore boy. Yes! We can admit that Bush made mistakes, plenty of them, but he didn't trash the economy and put people out of work Obozo. Not only can we we have. Folks like you were just too busy whining and covering for Dems to hear it.

The question is, can folks like you admit that President Obama is two faced and has lied his a** off and is trying to make a fool out of this entire country?

No, you probably can't say it. As long as there is a Democrate and not a Reublican in the White House everything else doesn't matter. No harder to figure out. If the Republicans were in charge right now, you'd be screaming for investigations, hearings and arrests.

This whole thing is that simple!
  • Yes, Mac, you're right . . .
Yes, Mac, you're right. It is *not* a good idea for the president to hold a press conference once a month. He should sequester himself, and never subject himself to questions about his policies and proposals in any forum, be it a traditional press conference, a public forum, or a non-traditional venue like The Tonight Show. I'm sure all his foes, like you, would readily embrace such a tactic.

In other words, he should behave like North Korean's Dear Leader Kim Jong Il does.

And, by the way, please give me an example of what you consider to be a "softball question" from last night's press conference. Here's a link to a complete transcript of it to help you out: http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2009/03/president_obamas_press_confere.html
  • Bush vs Obama
Oh please people, neither one of these guys are great speakers. Although I didn't have the urge to count the um's during Bush.

Did anyone else notice, when Obama is pushed on the rare question, he actually seems to get mad? A little temper there buddy?
  • Memo to Gavin
Get a grip. The point is not whether GWB was a great speaker, it's what he said. Yes, there were mistakes made by his administration and yes, the congress spent $$$ like drunken sailors but he accomplished some good things too. Being a good public speaker is not enough to qualify you for President, nor should a lack of it disqualify you.
  • It just ain't right
I have to admit that I didnt watch the press conference and in fact every time I see BHO on the television I quickly change the channel. The war is over and the US has lost. I feel like the country I grew up in no longer exists and my children and their children will be nothing more than slaves to the poor and lazy.
  • To AWK
There is another president that has televised press conferences on a regular basis... That's right Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, who is also a communist. I can't wait until Obama has his own show like Chavez, where he can only answer the softball questions. I hope he calls it "Word from the Messiah". It's good that the highest office of the land is taking leadership suggestions from a communist president. GWB may not have been a great president. He did allow his congress to spend like crazy too, but at least he didn't spend his time parading in front of the cameras. I'd rather see Obama take the time to meet with foreign dignitaries and congressional leaders than Jay "Big Chin" Leno.
  • @By emers @ 03/25/09 10:14:52 AM
It's not Bush's fault!!! Wah! Wah! Wah! It's the media! They did it! He never did anything wrong! Wah! Wah! Wah! I want my mommy!

Are you so blind that you can't even admit Bush wasn't exactly smooth in front of a mike? If only the press had covered him more, he would have been Winston Freaking Churchill? Pathetic.
  • THE PRESS CONFERENCE
You could almost NOT detect the puppet strings on the Obama puppet. His socialist puppeteers are losing their talent.
  • deficit
I liked the part where he said he was going to cut the deficit in half. That was a complete riot. From everything I've heard and read, he will not only not cut it at all - he will double - or even triple it with the spending he's started and has planned.
  • Neal, Please post your answers!
Please! The company I work for has blocked access to your streaming broadcasts. (Boo.) And I can't pick up a decent radio signal to listen in.
  • To AWK
If you remember correctly, the main stream media would not televise all of Bush's conferences/speeches, so maybe that's why you didn't see them?
  • PROFITS
I work in the healthcare field. The company I work for made a donation to help Grady hosp. here in Atlanta, Georgia. This donation was given because of the profit that was made by this company. It was reported in the local news(KAISER PERMANENTE)

So how is this going to work when the government(who approved this) will tax the AIG staff who received a large bonus; tax them at 90%; could it be far behind that other companies will be taxed at this higher 90% rate. If Grady Hospital had not received this very large donatation from my company and some others; would Grady Hospital be closed??

Would the government come to the save the county hospital?

I don't agree with what the AIG executives did but this same government approved the payouts!!!

Does being played for "FOOLS" ring a bell for anyone???? (BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT)

Change I didn't vote for and will "NEVER" believe in!!!!!

We need the help in our own local economy in Georgia from large and small companies and from individuals who are able to help our economy.

Washington D.C. is power hungry; we taxpayers or businesses should not be punished for achievement. We need to vote the crooks out of office in Washington!!!
  • I'll take BHO over GWB anytime
At least President Obama is HAVING press conferences! How often did W have a press conference? How nice to now have a president who is articulate and can give coherent responses to tough questions, as opposed to W's "frat boy in the headlights" manner on those rare occasions when he did subject himself to the press.
  • Observations
    (1) What the hell was the point of the press conference? The Obozo just recycles past stump speeches. Whenever he is asked a question, he just rambles on and on regurgitating empty campaign rhetoric and slogans and never answers the question. One question dealt with AIG and he rambles on about health care.

    (2) He said the answer to practically everything is to lower health care costs. Then, he talks about his socialized health care plan which will at minimum cost trillions. WTF kind of math is this?

    (3) The greatest MYTH about this man is that he is charasmatic and has a great personality. The man is a dolt, pure and simple. An absolute dull boring drone.

People are confusing the media and handler created campaigner/actor (i.e. the one reading written speeches off his teleprompter) with the actual man this guy is. This guy is a dolt. Reminds me of Hollywood actors. People think of their favorite actor as some superhero, assuming his character onscreen is the same type of person the actor is in real life! I think this is one of the reasons why H-wood marriages end up in divorce so quickly. The hot woman has a vision of this actor from the suave, superhero, stud character he portrays onscreen and thinks that is real life. Then, after a few months with the actor, she realizes that the guy is an average guy far from the stud superhero onscreen.

    (4) Is there anyone in the press that can ask some challenging questions. They are an embarrassment.

    (5) The whole press conference was called because of the economic crisis, yet OBozo doesn't feel the need to call on anyone from Wall Street Journal or any other business publication??

(6)There was a huge screen in the back he was reading. After his last speech on primetime, he was hammered by many people for reading the teleprompter which results in him looking side to side (ala watching a ping pong match) without looking the people in the eye. So, now they decide to put the screen straight in front so he makes eye contact with the people.
  • THEY BEND........WE BREAK!!!
In one part of his rehersal last night, the big "O" revealed a portion of his determination to GET HIS WAY no matter what the cost. With reference to his dealing with congress about his measures
and plans he said, "I'll bend but I won't break". You know.......he's correct. He'll do the bending and we'll
    do the breaking!!!
  • To Ryan...
Very good...has someone started a list of all the reversed statements this jerk has said since he's been in office?
  • Pres. Teleprompter
"At the same time, the rest of us can't afford to demonize every investor or entrepreneur who seeks to make a profit."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Obizzle who said "Now is not the time for profits" a couple weeks back???
  • Obummer...
"At the same time, the rest of us can't afford to demonize every investor or entrepreneur who seeks to make a profit. That drive is what has always fueled our prosperity, and it is what will ultimately get these banks lending and our economy moving once more," he said. Obummer demonizes them!!! The press just keeps the hatred of the achievers going! What a hypocritical idiot.
  • For those of us that can't listen in
Any chance you can post your answers on the nuze for those of us that can't listen in?
  • re: doin great!
    You're stupid.
  • puppet
That big screen TV for a press conference was....weird, to say the least. Who was answering his questions? Who is the real president? Biden? Is he the mastermind?
  • doin great!
hey neal, I love listening to your show, and i think these negative people that comment about you need to keep their negativity far far away. ty for what you do keep it up!
  • quote of the night...is there hope?
Is this just lip service from PrezBo? Or is he just trying to suck up to businesses now?

"At the same time, the rest of us can't afford to demonize every investor or entrepreneur who seeks to make a profit. That drive is what has always fueled our prosperity, and it is what will ultimately get these banks lending and our economy moving once more," he said
  • Baroque Obozo
It has to be the height (or depth)of sociopathic disconnect for this charlatan to say he is 'heartbroken' about the homeless and yet his own brother lives in a shack with a dirt floor in Kenya....that gives new meaning to the term 'coldblooded'.
