STIMULUS MONEY TO MEXICO!

Try this: Google "money to Mexico." I got over 100,000 hits. Why? That would be because we have millions of illegal Mexican aliens in this country who send most of the money they earn back to their families in Mexico. Now there is something to be admired here. Consider the number of American deadbeat dads who spend money week after week on their cigarettes and beer but nothing for the children they've fathered along the way .. but I digress:

This money-to-Mexico thing is a big deal because of a little stunt our wonderful Democrat majority in congress pulled on us. We are fixin' to spend billions of dollars on various government contracts ... everything from building bridges to sniffing pig armpits. There will be billions spent on construction projects - and where you find construction projects you find illegals. Now there is a system out there whereby contractors can determine with some degree of certainty whether or not a job applicant is in this country legally. It's called "E-verify." This is an online system where you can compare information given you by the employee with various government databases. It's free. Its' also voluntary. Republicans wanted the government to require E-verify checks on people applying for jobs created with stimulus money. Democrats said "no way." Why? Because Democrats don't want to get in the way of Illegals scarfing down these jobs. After all .. these are potential voters, right? Remember - Democrats are behind movements in many states that would grant the privilege of casting a vote in local elections to non-citizens. How long before illegals are included? Democrats are also doing a bit of Hispandering to legal Hispanic citizens who like to see their voting power increased.

Now .. do you have any idea how much money illegals sent back to Mexico last year? Let's just put the number at somewhere over $20 billion. When, thanks to the Democrats, we put tens of thousands of illegals at work on taxpayer-funded stimulus construction projects you will see much of that money heading South to bolster the Mexican economy. Wonderful plan, don't you think?

Now ... having said all of this .. there are some advantages to putting illegal immigrants on the payroll for these construction jobs:

  1. First and foremost.. They're not union.
  2. Hispanics generally have a stronger work ethic
  3. Projects will be completed faster and more efficiently
  4. Increased sales for Rosetta Stone

That's just me ... always looking for the silver lining.

  • Re: Brandon
    Re: Brandon

"defending the actions of the scum of humanity rather than their victims" is empty nonsense. Liberals do not defend the actions of terrorists and cop killers, whereas Republicans do defend torturers and murderer-cops, as well as the terrorists they happen to like at any given time.

But as for my comment, which was as you initially guessed not a lack of reading comprehension (which happens to be much higher in more liberal "blue" states):

Republican elite like those at Halliburton and Blackwater have recieved hundreds of millions in government contracts they didn't earn, and Republican elite in general get tons of government benefits they don't want to pay for in taxes, so I think "welfare recipients" is applicable.

Criminals is true at well, with crimes including treason (Reagan's terrorist supporting cronies, especially North) as well as corruption and war profiteering (Cheney, Gonzales, etc.). That's not to mention flagrant violation of the Constitution.

Deadbeats, like a loser who has never done anything well or a crappy actor (and crappy union leader), who just happened to be elected president. And the corrupt are included here too, since they live off government bale without any real need.

Lowlifes, which includes the deadbeats, criminals, and corrupt mentioned above. There's also people like Gingrich who try to impeach a president based on pure politics on the basis of infidelity, while he himself is cheating on his wife. And, of course, Foley, Haggard, and Craig types.

Michael Savage, who you brought up, is a perfect example for "losers". Savage, actually "Weiner", is a bitter ex-beatnik and leftist intellectual who turned to ultraconservative radio because he wasn't good enough to be a professor. And the various totally unaccomplished fools who get prominent government positions under the Republicans, including at least two of their presidents.

    ------

To say that the unions created the failures in the auto industry is nonsense. They simply failed to make competitive vehicles, especially in the way they pushed huge SUVs and pickups as people became more and more concerned about fuel economy as fuel got beyond $4/gallon. Japanese and European car companies are unionized as well.

More generally, the many failures in industries today were caused by a widespread system of bad loans and resulting decreasing consumer and investor confidence. Not unions.
  • Lent Visor
I'm afraid there may be no hope for you.

Initially, I assumed you possessed enough intelligence to hold a rational discussion without resorting to insults, but it seems that I had far too much faith in you. The Truth was not referencing Republicans at all. Perhaps you have a reading comprehension issue - typical of a liberal. Maybe, instead, you knew he wasn't talking about Republicans at all and thought you were being clever. You were not. The plain and simple truth is that you and the rest of your liberal ilk defend the actions of the scum of humanity rather than the victims of their actions. Rather than acknowledge this, you choose to attempt to villify business owners as evil, uncaring rich people. Perhaps one day you will experience that wonderful feeling when your head leaves your rectum and you can finally see the light with the rest of us. Until then, The Truth is correct in quoting Michael Savage - "Liberalism is a mental disorder."

Oh, and unions created the failures in many industries today, most notably the auto industry. That you fail to recognize this fact is hilarious. You must be joking... otherwise, you're a fool.
  • Why not tax 20% of Monet Orders to Mexico
If they have a legitimate SSN (or tax ID number) then the Mexicans here working and sending their money back to family in Mexico would get the refund at the end of the year when they file taxes. If they file ... Har, Har.

If they don't file at the end of the year? No refund of the difference.

If ten thousand (or two million) illegal aliens use the same SSN, then the IRS can sort out who gets the correct 1500.00 back. And the remaining 20,000,000.00 goes to pay back the illegal's charges on the rest of us who DO pay.
  • illegals
The bigger problem has not even been mentioned. Okay, money goes back to Mexico! The problem is we house them, pay for their stays in jail, feed them through gov. aid, and take care of their colds, etc. They don't have to pay when they go to the emergency room. I am sick of it and resent every Mexican I see at Quick Trip. It has gotten to the point that I assume every one of them I see are illegal!
  • The Truth?
"welfare recipients, criminals, deadbeats, lowlifes, illegals, losers, etc"

That's not an especially nice way to describe the Republican elite, even if it's true (except maybe "illegals").
  • Taking money out of the economy...
Everytime they talk about building a new stadium, they talk about all the new revenue that will be available to the community.

The rent paid to the city and the money paid to the ball players, executives and vendors will be the first benenficiaries.
The hotels and restaurants will be the second beneficiaries. The work thier math and soon that 50 million dollar stadium is generating 350 million dollars to the community.

They pass the bill and the government gives the team the stadium.

The opposite is true when the money leaves the city. In other words, 50 million pulled out of the economy to go to Mexico means that there will be 350 million dollars lost to the city.

Also consider that much of that money is paid in cash. The receivers do not pay taxes. I am talking about the guys you pick up around home depot or other work spots.

Their families are receiving free treatments at emergency rooms. There are clinics that waive fees for illegals.

Unemployment is approaching 9%. It is so smart to fill those newly created jobs with illegals!
  • Require Union Labor
What the Democrats should push for is to require everyone employed by the stimulus be unionized. Illegal immigrants don't provide a cheaper and more efficient labor force because they are just better workers, but because they have no legal protection from abuse (like below minimum wage page). To a smaller extent, all non unionized workers do, especially in places like the Southeast where labor protections are minimual. I certainly don't want my tax dollars going to pay for sweatshop labor that provides only poor jobs.

Of course, if we enforced labor standards universally, including for illegal immigrants and poor people in general, we wouldn't have nearly as much illegal immigration, and there would be no legitimacy to claims that illegal immigrants are taking our jobs. Not that there is much legitimacy at this point, though.
  • LiberalHater: re Hugo
Like all libtards, Hugo does love certain people of this country: welfare recipients, criminals, deadbeats, lowlifes, illegals, losers, etc. He is the type of lib who has a weak heart and a fondness for terrorists and cop killers, holding candlelight vigils and protesting their incarceration and "cruel treatment" while never as much as even acknowledging the suffering of the victims and families that have have fallen prey to their "martyrs". It truly is a mental disorder.
  • THAT'S ENOUGH ABOUT HUGO
Hugo is a wonderful, loving member of society. You can tell from his postings that he loves all people of this country. I mean, you have to have his tolerance to elect someone like Obama. So lay off!!!
  • Money to Mexico
The money that is sent to Mexico, or any other country, is not a problem. Believe it or not, it all has to come back to the U. S. There are only two things that a recipient of a US dollar in another country can do: invest in US investments or buy US goods. There are obviously intermediaries such as banks but eventually that dollar must come home. Ask any real economist, they'll tell you.
  • illegals on jobsites
I was a superintendent on commercial projects for 22 years. The general contractors do not hire the illegals anymore. They hire labor subcontractors who are owned by illegals and hire all illegal workers. This way they only record a federal business id number on the monthly draw check. If the illegals are caught they close the business and reopen the next day under a different name and probably fake federal id number.
  • Where Boortz is still a sheep
Okay, I'll consider it. What is labeled as child support is just yet another government vote buying scheme--one that Neal cannot help keep proping up. Missreprenting the government mandated gender funds transfer from poor politically unpreferred men to wealthy politically preferred women is just bleeting.
  • Deat Beat Dads Only?
Your digression about dead beat dads using their money to buy cigarettes and beer was very one sided.

More beer, cigarettes, lotto tickets, and other junk are purchased with child support by dead beat mothers who use their kids as their personal meal ticket. I have personally seen this. Are there deadbeat dads? sure but the deadbeat moms, who aren't required to account for how the money is spent are far worse for the children. She is spending their money after all.
  • Illegality
"What part of illegal immigrant don't you understand?"

I don't understand *why* it is illegal when it violates nobody's rights - and violation of rights is the only thing that a government is right to to use force to prevent.

"You say "It's not an "invasion" to barter your labor for money - it's admirable! It's not "plunder" if you work for it." HUH??? I'm sure there are a lot of robbers, molesters, rapists, and other criminals who do legit work also Maybe we shouldn't be upset with them. In other words, why is it that every other criminal doesn't get this luxury, while illegal aliens get a mulligan for their crimes?"

You are equating robbery, murder, and child molestation with crossing an invisible line to work at a job. In one sense, they are all crimes, yes. However, robbery, murder, and child molestation are immoral and unethical regardless of the law. These three despicable acts violate the rights of innocent people. Illegal immigration is only "wrong" because the law decided that it is wrong. Illegal immigration does not inherently violate anyone's rights, and therefore it's not in the same bag with robbery, murder, and child molestation.

Of course, you could bring up scenarios where some illegal immigrants have committed violations of the rights of others through robbery, DUI, etc. But those crimes should be considered and punished separately because they are inherently different crimes. There are still plenty of legal citizens committing robberies and murders, and the fact that someone has crossed a legal border illegally doesn't make their murders and robberies any more or less heinous.

As for saying I haven't considered the costs, I addressed that by saying it's OUR fault for being such socialists. End the social services (or all we have to do is deny them to illegal immigrants) and the problem is solved.
  • Look out for the IRS
Don't worry Neil, they are now all using your SSN for identification on the job.
  • caste genocide
What a brilliant scheme by the Mexican government (with cooperation from the Bush administration).....sending their peasants to America and returning the revenue to Mexico.

    @By Braxton @ 03/10/09 09:19:32 AM

Good call adding the word hispandering to your vocabulary -- I will too:

I'm glad Democrats are in power so I can finally start complaining about the hispandering that's been going on since Bush was in office.

After all the hispandering I've seen by the last Republican Administration and by the last Republican Presidential Candidate, should I smarten up and stop pretending illegal immigration is a Democrat created problem?

    Yep. Good word.
  • Gubmint construction jobs
E-verify for you morons is the ONLY successful government program outside of the military. Neal, I know you know better, but the construction the government is "stimulating" must be done by union shops, which excludes some 86% of construction companies and workers. Union shops are happy to hire illegals.
  • The money that the illegal immigrants send to Mexico is the second largest source of US dollars to the country. The firts one is Oil sales...
  • This is funny
Rob makes some good points, nice job Rob! Hugo is bring up the rear with comic relief (as usual). However I think that we are missing the point.

Its been the very first thing that throws a monkey wrench in everything.....

"THEIR HERE ILLEGALLY" and just because you don't like the law doesn't mean you can just disregard it. So until we solve that problem all else is mute. If you think that its fair for them to just come across the border at will, then it should be fair for us to do the same, but just try it!
  • work ethic gone
when i first started in this business, i too, used to think that hispanic workers had a better work ethic. however, after running large construction projects for the last 10 years, i have come to he conclusion that they do not. they're every bit as lazy (ever notice how hardly any construction project finishes on time any more? do you think americans have forgotten how to build?), they have no respect for other trades, they steal from you constantly, and they pretend they don't understand english until friday when their paycheck arrives and suddenly they understand everything you say.

don't believe the hype about their work ethic and that they do jobs americans won't do. the fact is is that they came to america, undercut american wages, and have overtaken the construction industry. think about it - if you were a high school american, would you want to go work on a construction project where nearly everyone spoke a different language than you? No, americans would do the work that hispanics do (we used to!), just not for half the wages and in an environment where they would be ostracized.

clearly not all hispanic workers are like this. some are great guys. and if i sound angry or bitter, it's because i have to deal with it every day here in texas. after losing tens of thousands of dollars in materials on every project, it would wear on you too.
  • Rosetta Stone sales...
No doubt they will be English-Spanish versions (rather than Spanish-English).
  • david@shuttlekraft.net
Know what Neal, if the trade commission or whomever would crack the hell down on these transfers charging a VAT (Value Added Tax) or similar on money sent out of the country we could recoup millions on these billions sent out....but noooooo that makes sense.
  • Tsk-tsk
Neal, I appreciate your perspective usually, but you are so off the mark with your comment about "deadbeat dads" and it's obvious you've never seriously looked into the whole fatherhood/child support situation. The fact is, the vast majority of divorced dads pay child support in full and on time. The fathers who don't pay? Most of them live at or below the poverty level. Child support awards are not based on the actual costs of raising a child and the awards are frequently over-inflated. The result is that low-income fathers cannot pay the amount the law requires and still have enough left over to actually feed, house, and clothe themselves. Sure, there are a few divorced dads who make the rest of us look bad, but by and large fathers are doing the right thing. And in most states, they have no choice anyway. Should they choose to spend their money on cigarettes and beer, as you say, they lose their driver's license, their professional license, have their wages garnished and their tax return intercepted. Temper that with the fact that the vast majority of mothers initiate the divorce in the first place, and not for reasons of infidelity, abuse, addiction, or abandonment - but because "he doesn't meet my emotional needs" or some other such nonsense. Most fathers fight the divorce but are unable to prevent it. As a result, they are kicked out of their homes, relegated to being a visitor in the children's lives, and are forced by the State to hand over huge sums of money to the children's mother - who frequently interferes with custody just because they can do so without penalty. Someone really needs to educate you.
  • Rosetta Stone?
Are you kidding me? Rosetta Stone? I don't think so Neal. "Ingles Sin Barreras" may be, but not Rosetta Stone.
  • Rob Evans -
What part of illegal immigrant don't you understand? They are illegal, they are criminals, they have broken at least three laws if they are working here.

You say "It's not an "invasion" to barter your labor for money - it's admirable! It's not "plunder" if you work for it." HUH??? I'm sure there are a lot of robbers, molesters, rapists, and other criminals who do legit work also Maybe we shouldn't be upset with them. In other words, why is it that every other criminal doesn't get this luxury, while illegal aliens get a mulligan for their crimes?

Most importantly, you are seeing only one side of the equation when you say they are not plundering. Do you see our emergency rooms clogged up with these aliens, the eefect on schools for bringing these illiterates in, or all the victims of the crimes of these "immigrants", or the victims of the drunken illegal alien driver??? Or how about sucking up welfare, social security, food stamps, etc. while paying nothing in taxes?? You don't see the cost of that do you??
  • my money
With the dollar in such decline, Mexico may be the only place left on earth where it continues to have any value.
  • Government
Neal is always complaining about the government requiring hair cutters to be licensed. And he's right: If I want to pay someone to cut my hair, and the person wants to be paid to cut my hair, what business is it of the government's?

Well, why doesn't Neal apply the same logic to immigration? If I want to pay someone to mow my lawn, and someone wants to get paid for mowing my lawn, what right does the government have to stop us? We're not hurting anyone. Why should the police power of government use deadly force to stop peaceful transactions such as this?

Is it to save American jobs? I thought the job belonged to the employer, Neal? The job doesn't belong the employee seeking government job protection and artificial wage inflation through immigration laws. They work only at the pleasure of the person paying them.

Is it because illegal immigrants abuse the welfare system? Well whose fault is that? It's our fault for being the socialists, not the immigrant worker's fault for using the systems we willfully provide. And I'd venture to guess that there are many more willfully unemployed American citizens abusing the welfare system, so why pick on the ones busting their butts to work supporting their families?

Illegal immigrants are one of the best examples of capitalists peacefully trading their labor for a better way of life for themselves and their families. They do so in spite of a government standing in their way. It's the greatest current example of hard work leading to a better life, of pulling one's self up by your bootstraps, and the modern conservative movement is just tossing them in the gutter. Neal calls them an "invasion" for "plunder." It's not an "invasion" to barter your labor for money - it's admirable! It's not "plunder" if you work for it.
  • Hugo is an Illegal
Hey Hugo, how much money do you remit back to wherever you came from? For the millionth time, we are not anti-immigrant, you imbecile, we are anti-ILLEGAL immigrant.

How about this for a stimulus construction project? Get these illegals building a huge wall along the border. Make sure that they leave a 20 foot opening at the end so that we can push them through to their homeland once they completed the project. Then, of course, we would seal up the remaining 20 feet - I imagine even a union worker would be able to do that piece of it.

Then again, which moron Democrat said that the wall won't work because as he put it, "You show me a 50 foot wall, and I'll show you a 51 foot ladder." LOL!!! Yeah, Jorge, Manuel, and Ricardo and their buddies are just running around with 51 foot ladders!! You libs are truly braindead.
  • Thank you
Thank you so much for using the word hispandering. I have now added it to my vocabulary. Brilliant wordplay.
  • E-Verify is E-Vil
Mandatory E-Verify means you have to ask government's permission to give or get a job. It will be as inaccurate as the notorious "no-fly" lists. It will be a gross intrusion by government into the economy and into every day business decisions. It will give government complete control over who will be allowed to get a job in the U.S. Too scary!

Voluntary now, but mandatory later. Neal, I'm surprised you support it. Please rethink your position.
  • Illegals
Darn! If only Republicans were in charge-they'd do something about those illegals! Just like they did before the 2006 elections when it was a hot button issue with their base...oh, wait. Well, at least they ran an anti-immigrant candidate in 2008 for President...oh, wait...
