When Mark Steyn writes a column .. you just gotta read it.

How many government bureaucrats does it take to get Barack Obama to Europe? Try 500. Your tax dollars hard at work.

Obama has promised green jobs .. but take a look at what happened in Spain when they tried to create green jobs.

Barack Obama is upset that Democrats are fighting him on the idea of making his middle class tax cut "for 95% of Americans" permanent in this budget bill. Would it be because these "tax cuts" are really government checks .. .and we can't afford it?

The wussification of America continues .. a middle school in Connecticut has banned all physical contact between students.

Who knew that New York Times columnist Paul Krugman would turn out to be such a critic of the Obama administration's economic policies.

How is Obama's reduction in tax deductions going to affect charitable giving? Dick Morris has more. Obama has no war on terror, but he does have a war on charitable giving.

George Will explains how our executive branch of government suddenly became a legislative body.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates says that Iran will more likely to heed sanctions than diplomacy. I wonder what Obama thinks of that statement.

The new World Trade Center tower is no longer going to be called the Freedom Tower .. and critics are saying that changing the name is "unpatriotic." Do you think it could possibly have anything to do with the fact that China has rented several floors in the new building?

It turns out that we have Angela Merkel (the German Chancellor) to thank for killing an idea for a "global new deal."

The NOAA found that changes in ocean temperatures are far more affected by atmospheric dust levels than global warming

Can you imagine if this happened to George Bush .. or Sarah Palin?

We officially have our first government middle school to be named after Barack Obama. Mark my words .. within four years any city that doesn't have a "Barack Obama" Street, Road, Boulevard or what-have-you will be the target of protests.

Tomorrow, General Motors will decide whether or not it will sell off the Hummer brand.

According to a Rasmussen poll, 63% of U.S. voters now say tax cuts would help the economy. And another Rasmussen poll found that 60% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of princess Nancy Pelosi. It should be a helluva lot more than 60%.

How much time and tax dollars are we going to spend on making the White House "green." Again.

State parks in Washington are doing their best to reduce the evil carbon footprints of its employees and visitors. In fact, they want to be completely carbon neutral. I wonder how much that is going to cost.

How did Earth Hour work out for greenies in New York and California? Yeah, it looks like it was all just a bunch of horsesqueeze.

Here's the link for the lamp that my crew gave me for my birthday.  Love it!

What others are saying

  • Iran...
has ignored 30 years of sanctions by us and the additional ones more recently. If anything, these sanctions just drive them to trade more heavily with China, Russia, etc, because it's so great that nations we are on unfriendly terms with should have access to massive amounts of oil.
  • Welcome to the second Reconstruction, America. This time, it's all of us being punished for desiring our freedom.
  • georgia stimulus
hey, atlanta people, call your reps in the House to push through our georgia stimulus bill. http://www.examiner.com/x-6571-Atlanta-Political-Buzz-Examiner~y2009m3d30-update-on-the-JOBS-ACT-2009-part-of-Georgia-stimulus-bill
  • Hillary/O.L. of Guadelupe
As a Catholic, I was originally amazed at Hillary's response. However, stepping back and taking the view of someone who doesn't believe in apparitions etc., her responses may not be at all uncommon. After all, it really does look like a print on burlap, nothing more.
  • Barack Obama Street
Show me a town with a Barack Obama street and I won't be living there for sure.
  • Post by Jubilation
How about the principal just bans kicks to the groin? If the kids behave, maybe he can reinstitute it at a later date.
  • Obama's Eligibility
Recently Neil has suggested that anyone who may be questioning Obama's Constitutional eligibility to be President should just get over it. It would be much easier to get over it if Obama would just release his full document birth certificate (not the Hawaii COLB) to the public. If this shows he WAS born in Hawaii then one question would be answered. He would still have an eligibility problem with his father NOT being an American citizen. Obama is a citizen but the question deals with the Constitutional requirement to be a Natural Born citizen. If McCain had to produce his official BC why is it wrong to demand, and expect, the same from Obama. Would like for Neil to comment as to why we should just get over it when there are still questions that need to be answered.
  • Obama's Eligibility
Neil has in the past suggested that anyone who is questioning Obama's eligibility to be President - to just get over it. Getting over it would be easier if Obama would just release his original full document birth certificate. If this shows he was actually born in Hawaii - he would have eliminated one source of argument. It remains fact however that his father wasn't an American citizen. This would still lead one to question his Natural Born citizen qualifications. It would be helpful if Neil would comment as to why he believes that we should just get over it?
  • Connecticut School bans physical contact ...
A student was taken to the hospital after being kicked in the groin. Principal's response is "no physical contact". Over-reaction? Maybe.

The school administration took an "over-the-top" approach and students and parents unanimously object. Excuse me, but, somebody went to the hospital.
Parents, back the school administration, students demonstrate they can behave and negotiate a reduction in restrictions later.
  • Obama's war on charities...
..is the continuation of his move to permanently attach the underclass to the government teat--thereby removing all incentives for someone to lift her/himself out of poverty. And thus ensuring future generations of democratic voters...
  • @Moochers
Hey-the reason Neal didn't tip you (or whoever) is because you are obviously not an achiever! You're probably one of those "losers" Neal talks about who makes less than $30K a year. I guess next time you'll remember to leave a nasty smell in his car!
  • CT Abominations
That school along with that Supreme Cour's upholding an arrest on a guy arrested with intent to drive while intoxicated while sleeping in his car with no key in the ignition has made me ashamed to live in this great state.

The Constitution State needs to wake up and my only hope is Gov. Rell who stated we need to make government smaller. Man I hope the plethora of liberals that control this state otherwise don't ruin it any more.

Oh and I read this article on Saturday and glad to see that Neal decided to post it for his reading assignments today.
  • Lots To Comment
Green Jobs in Spain...server was busted or something.

Wussy school...Don't touch me! Clearly the incident that started this should have been handled by the parents of the students to find the problem and the only thing the school should have done is hand out a detention for the cheap shot.

Freedom Tower...people will still call it that regardless. But am I the only one who finds the name 'One World' Trade Center a little ominous? As an address its not too bad (1 World Trade Center)

Dust Air...I think the Global Warming screen is way beyond cracking by now.

Pelosi...Someone already said he doubts 60% of people know who Pelosi is, but out of those who do, yeah, that number should be MUCH higher.

State Parks...so they want to reduce the carbon footprint? Wouldn't that mean cutting down all the trees? After all they produce a ton more CO2 that the average hummer.

    Hand Lamp...
    ...
    ...
    Awesome!
  • Krugamn article
I read the article on Paul Krugman and noticed one thing interesting. Apparently President Obama and his aides are have talks with columnists. Does this mean he is giving them their marching orders. That is what they said when President Bush had meetings with talk show hosts. I remember there was a huge buzz about this. Why not this time... hmmmm...
  • Now they are proud
Following Michelle's lead, now this middle school's student body and staff are "PROUD TO BE AMERICANS and PROUD OF AMERICA!" Well we better see some "real change" in their test scores and overall school performance!

Changing a street sign to reflect Obama's name coming to a neighborhood near you? Better be in places where the people are now PROUD TO BE AMERICANS and PROUD OF AMERICA!

Yes, mark Neal's words and then some. Obama's image will be everywhere except the post office's most wanted bulletin board.

By the way, I was always proud to be an American and proud of America.
  • Lamp Shade
Loved the lamp shade on the site today
  • Pelosi's Disapproval Rating
Not sure how this survey was conducted, becasue I highly doubt that 60% of Americans even know who she is. Sad.
  • it's customary...
hey neal, you know it's customary to tip the person that valet parks your car. just in case you weren't aware.
  • Earth Hour Scam
The Earth Hour website makes no effort to hide its bias toward the man-made global warming scam and this idea that we can (or should) try to reverse it. Those crackpots declared this year's Earth Hour as a vote: "Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming." They hope to reach 1 billion "votes" which they will then present to the GCCC while they discuss a policy to replace the Kyoto Protocol.

What a joke! I went out that night and turned off my lights before I left, does that mean I gave a rip about their agenda and "voted" Earth? Of corse not but even better is this idea that they can somehow count the numbers. Ha! I'll be curious to see if they bother to include China and India in their replacement for Kyoto. If so, I'll give them credit and upgrade it from terrible idea to bad idea -- progress!
  • Obama School
This reminds me of the MLK legacy. It seems that it is some kind of requirement (is it?) that every city must have some kind of MLK street.
The MLK family surely gets $$$ for every time this happens in royalties.
And, I wonder how many cities voluntarily name something MLK - or is it because they are forced to. If they don't they are considered subhuman.
  • Oh what a circus, oh what a show...
Thinking of The Obama's "Rainbow Tour" of Europe, with 500 staff, living large and keeping it real, bringing his own gas and chicago-style pizza, and u.s. system dvds too no doubt, brings to mind another misunderstood megalomaniac, Eva Peron.

And Che's lead-in to the story, from Webber's musical:

Sing you fools, but you got it wrong
Enjoy your prayers because you haven't got long

Your queen is dead, your king is through

And she's not coming back to you

Show business kept us all alive

    Since seventeen October 1945

But the star has gone, the glamour's worn thin

That's a pretty bad state for a state to be in

Instead of government we had a stage

Instead of ideas, a prima donna's rage

Instead of help we were given a crowd

She didn't say much, but she said it loud

Obama is our own Eva Peron.

    Viva le roi!
