Dick Morris asks, "Does President Obama truly believe that he can castigate and condemn Wall Street on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and then secure its cooperation on the other days of the week?"

Another Obama nominee has removed himself from the running .. Jon Cannon, nominee for Deputy U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator.

Wealth envy activists in Great Britain are sure doing a heck of a job articulating their position. Oh wait ... never mind. They are too busy attacking the homes of bank CEOs.

Looks like disillusioned foreign leaders are no longer looking at Obama as "president of the world."

Even Democrats in the media are becoming disillusioned with the man who was once their savior.

Hillary Clinton says that the United States is also to blame for drug-related violence in Mexico. She's right.

People in Europe have also picked up their pitchforks and are outraged over executive pay issues. Wealth envy is growing.

Obama says that "we need not choose between a chaotic and unforgiving capitalism and an oppressive government-run economy." I'll tell you about that word "chaos" during the show .. and it's connection to Soviet communism.

So is tax cheat Tim Geithner open to the idea of a global currency, or not?

Congress passed land and water conservation legislation that will set aside 2 million acres for new wilderness, thus making the areas off limits to oil and gas drilling.

Here's some news that shouldn't shock you .. the post office is running out of money.

What have unions done to the economy of California? I bet you can see where this one is going. This is just a taste of what this country will be like if the unions get their card check bill.

You want to see a tangible effect of this union card check bill? Check out the latest news from FedEx.

Barack Obama wants new forms of energy to become dominant in this country .. but how can that happen if we have Senators like Dianne Feinstein fighting to make sure that hundreds of thousands of acres in California are not used for solar or wind projects?

Dozens of Massachusetts cities and towns are taking steps to impose stiff new fines for smoking marijuana in public .. in order to "shield" the children.

Your tax dollars at work .. New York state paying for dental cleanings for toothless people.

I told you about this yesterday on the air .. The Tales of Totus, the President's Teleprompter.

What are college students giving up for Lent these day? Facebook.

Okay, this is for you people that still don't get it about the AIG bonuses. What others are saying

  • Letter by Jake DeSantis
Good letter. Then I made the mistake of reading some of the comments. Geez those wealth envy folks are losing it!
  • Fedex and cancelling the jet order
    Hmmmn, lets see what the consequences of passing legislation to get FedEx unionized and they cancel the jet order;

$7 billion dollar order cancelled, losing thousands of union jobs at Boeing and tens of thousnds more from various suppliers and the ripple affect.

Billions of federal, state and local taxes lost from high-paying, high tax rate jobs at Boeing.

FedEx loses productivity and profits by flying older jets.

Older jets use more fuel, thus causing more enviromental damage and theoretically causing global warming.

Using more fuel increases imports of oil thus worsening the trade deficit and weakening the dollar.

Older jets are both noiser and more dangerous to both flight crews and people on ground.

Seems like another great example of Quinn's First Law.
  • post office
oddly enough, this very morning my mail delivery person showed up with a letter asking for donations of food (i run a restaurant) for the rural-mailcarriers convention next week.
  • Drug wars (continued)
Jefferson, You must know that it was not the Left that made drugs illegal and started and escalated the drug war, it was the religious Right. The one person I believe had the biggest impact on expanding the war on drugs was none other than Ronald Reagan. I think he was the greatest president we have had since the days of our founding fathers, and in his day, I agreed with him on this. In retrospect, and in studying about prohibition, I think he got this one wrong. Do you not see the parallels with prohibition (which was started by the religious Right by the way)? Do I think that all crime during prohibition was caused by the illegal alcohol trade? Of course not! But don't you agree that a LOT of the crime from that era was caused by the alcohol wars? Quit trying to make it sound like I don't know what I'm talking about because you want to blame someone else, not yourself. I agree that most of the violent crimes in the US are committed by the product of Leftist policies. However, can't you see that at the same time, a significant proportion of these crimes are the direct result of the drug war which is a policy of the religious right? If you can't, I feel sorry for you. Again I ask, do you see the Budweiser plant and the Busch plant trying to whack each other or getting into shootouts with police as was fairly common during prohibition? The answer is NO, NO, NO!! That is because alcohol is no longer illegal!! Are there still bootleggers and black marketeers? Yes, and there probably always will be as long as the government keeps trying to tax the stuff to death, but these people are RARE these days, while they were fairly common during prohibition.
  • Drug War
Jefferson, did you not see that the title of my comment was DRUG WARS, not ALL THE "VIOLENT CRIME IN THE U.S." I was not talking about violent crime in the US in general. I was talking about the significant portion of violent crime, everywhere... not just in the US, which is directly attributable to the war on drugs. Is there other crime? Of course!!! Do I agree with you that single parent welfare homes cause us a lot of problems? Yes, I do! Do I agree with you that the Left's policies about welfare helped cause this? Yes, I do. Did you see where I wrote to you that I agree that the Left's policies contribute greatly to developing the customers of the drug trade? Did you know that a lot of the violent crime these children of single mom welfare families (sic) perpetrate is related to the drug war? Many of them see being drug dealers as the way out for them without having to study hard and work hard... they just embrace violence and sell drugs. Again, I'm not saying ALL of them are doing that, just a significant proportion.
  • Drug Violence "Our" Fault??
More of the same from the "blame America first" crowd. Hey, someone forgot to tell them that the Vietnam war is over. To use Neal's phrase, this is a bunch of horse squeeze. To even suggest that we are responsible for the lawlessness and corruption that exists in Mexico is laughable. The corruption that permeates every level of Mexican society pre-dates the drug trade.
  • Neal missed THIS outrage: Senate on COLLEGE BOWLL CHAMPS??
It looks like the most important business of the US Senate is looking into how College Football picks its best team... Argh.

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hV4mOJQgUsQthrydU_Vty4iVgC5gD9759GG00
  • Brad...
The article is about the violence in Mexico. But if you want to talk about violent crime in the U.S., let's.

The majority of violent crimes are committed by products of single mother homes. Before welfare, very few children were born to single mothers (and this was before abortion was legal). Just last year, 40% of children were born to single mothers(10% to single, teen mothers!). The policies of the left created this culture.
  • No, I still don't get it.
No, Neal. I still don't get it. I still don't get why you continue to defend the looters at AIG.

Yes, I saw Jake DeSantis's heart breaking letter about how much he really deserved his bonus (the absurd amount of which he neglected to mention).

And I don't fault him a bit for quitting. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to work for that crooked LOOTER outfit.

What YOU DON'T SEEM TO GET is that he would have been out of a job last year, and his so-called "contract" would have been null and void if AIG had been allowed to go bankrupt instead of being bailed out WITH MY MONEY.

My own company went belly up 5 years ago in the Enron debacle and I lost my job, the dream home I built with my own two hands, my airplane and hangar, and I had to start over again in a city I detest 500 miles away from my family. To date, I still have not recovered to my previous salary, title, or life style. And like DeSantis, I was an innocent bystander in an unrelated part of the company (but at least I wasn't even a trader!). So you'll have to excuse me I don't have much sympathy for DeSantis's tragic plight. With his millions to fall back on, his lifestyle isn't likely to change much.

When companies fail, bad things happen. That's why we try to avoid failing. And that's why we don't reward FAILURES. What part of that do you not get?
  • Drug Wars
She also said that the guns being smuggled into Mexico from the US is our fault. Another ploy to support gun control.
  • post office
You wonder why the post office is losing money? I was just trying to track some packages I ordered from Amazon 3 days ago. Amazon has started using the post office more and UPS less for their "free super saver shipping" lately, I guess to save a little on expenses. When something gets shipped UPS, and you track it, there are 2-3 entries a day about what your package is doing. The post office get my packages 3 days ago, and they still say "we don't have a record of this tracking number" on all but one of them. That one says they "received electronic notification to expect it for shipment". UPS would be delivering it this afternoon, and there would be about 10 entries in the tracking site. Last time I had something sent by the post office, it got here before there was a single entry in the tracking site. They are totally incompetent! Why do they even have a tracking system? They rarely actually use it! I'm going to have to start paying shipping at Amazon to make sure UPS or FedEx get it.
  • On another note...
I just looked at the questions Obama is going to answer for the "Online Town Hall" meeting. It is incredible the sheer number of questions that are college students and/or educators asking for a personal bailout, either for their school district or a waiver of all/part of their student loans. As a fellow college student, I am rather disheartened to see the attitude of others of my generation.
  • Drug War
Jefferson, you are right placing much of the blame for the customers of the drug trade on the "if it feels good- do it" crowd, but those people are not the violent type. Some drug users commit relatively petty crimes to get the money for drugs (because they are expensive because they are illegal). The killing going on right now (always going on, just at a noticeable peak right now)is coming from the big time dealers, not their customers. The primary blame for drugs being illegal lies with the religious right. They want to legislate morality so badly, they sometimes don't care about the unintended consequences. As I stated earlier, the Mafia largely started out as booze running operations during Prohibition. Have you seen any movies or read any history about the classic Chicago gangsters? They were primarily alcohol distributors. Now that alcohol is legal, do you see workers at the Budweiser plant going over to the Busch plant and whacking any workers there, or getting into shootouts with the police? Of course not! But that kind of thing was common during prohibition, which is one of the main reasons prohibition was repealed. Do people still have problems related to drinking alcohol (which is a drug)? Of course they do! But there is very little crime involved in the alcohol trade anymore, because it isn't illegal!!! The only crimes now involve mainly people who have a problem controlling themselves when they take the drug hurting other people or putting them in danger of getting hurt. That danger would still exist if alcohol were legal, because addicts will still find a way to get their drug, plus there would be the criminal element there.... again, look at what happened during prohibition!! The current drug war is EXACTLY the same thing that went on during Prohibition!!! EXACTLY THE SAME!! Make it legal, and much of the criminal element will go away!!! Some people will, of course, still have problems, but at least the vast majority of the crime related to it would go away!!! The prohibition debacle and what has happened since it was repealed PROVES it!
  • Card check bill consequences
Betty, I saw the same report. It is in print at http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/25/card-check-process-used-union-organizers-ignites-fury-indiana-plant/ . It is a story about the UAW harassing people at an auto parts factory, including showing up at their homes, and pro union workers threatening anti-union co-workers because the desires of all the workers pro or anti union were public due to the card check like system they were using at the plant. But I thought Dems and union leaders said that would never happen??? If you believe them, I have a deed for the Brooklyn Bridge around here somewhere you might be interested in.
  • Hillary and the Blame America First Crowd
To be specific, the drug-related violence is the Left's fault. With their moral relativism, welfare for single mothers, and "If it feels good; do it" attitude, they've created the customers for these drug thugs.
  • Assignments
World currency - First, wasn't there a book about this somewhere? Think it was written a couple thousand years ago. Second, better start saving those Nuka Cola bottle caps!

California Nightmare - The more I here about CA's woes the more i'm glad i'm not there...just wish all those video game companies and PIXAR would take a hint and get out so I can put them on my list of future employers (I work as a graphic artist).
  • It is our fault (reply to laughing)
It is our fault, but probably not for the reasons Hillary meant. It is because we have criminalized the drug trade. If drugs were treated the same way as tobacco and alcohol, which are drugs by the way.... legal but still drugs, there wouldn't be criminals with guns working to sell the stuff. There would be pharmacists or well regulated liquor store like places selling it. This is why the constitutional amendment banning alcohol was repealed. The unintended consequence was bootlegging and the beginnings of the mafia. Most of the original mafia types were booze runners!
  • Sec , Clinton's Drug Comments
Wow...drug smuggling into the U.S...talk of insatiable desires, and the Clinton name, all together again. What was that little airport out in Arkansas? Mena?
  • World currency
When Monopoly Money is worth more than US Currency, thanks to Obama Administration, what exchange rate will China give us when they take over the currency system?
  • Our fault?
Would be nice if Hillary would work for us for a change.
How is any of this our fault when Hill and her liberal/socialist/"political corrects" are forcing us to allow illegal criminals to walk around, with more rights than honest citizens, on US soil.
She is a worse failure than her husband.
  • TOTUS
Articulated, Seperior Performance, Bright give me a break. the man can be hard to watch its like he is watch a tennes match. The first WIZARD OF OD PRESIDENT I can see the man behind the curtain but I don't know his name.
  • Post Office and Card Check
Wonder how much it costs the post office to come up with so many new stamps. Maybe if they had only one design and put out a couple of special ones a year they might save some money. As far as card check goes I saw a report on Fox showing how the workers at one company were intimidated by union organizers. Someone should be calling for people to tell their experiences with Union Intimidation both as organizing and on the job.
  • Jake DeSantis letter
    Also available at:

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/the-ticker/2009/03/25/jake-desantis-dear-aig-i-quit-.html

Without a log-in requirement. Good reading.
  • war on drugs
STOP IT It's tne bigges waste of time and money. it also the caused of a lot of problems with other contrys with them trying to stop drugs from comeing here, and it has not stop one person from using any drug they want.the money would be better spent on ed. the people and treament progams and the best part is that drug dealers would have to get a real JOB.
