Senator Kent Conrad says that the AIG bonuses should be returned or those employees should be fired. I'm going to try to get him on the show today. He will avoid me like the plague.

This is a great column from Kyle Smith in the New York Post: So Sayeth the Teleprompter.

Barney Frank believes that another way to punish AIG executives who received bonuses is to sue AIG. This is the same Slobbering Barney who has not spent one single day working in the private sector (except for a student-teacher gig at Harvard) in his entire life.

There is more chatter about tax-cheat Tim Geithner being asked to step down. Barack Obama isn't biting.

The administration will release more detailed plans today ... Geithner aims to purchase as much as $1 trillion in troubled assets.

We are starting to see more and more articles along these lines, and this is from Reuters .. Resistance grows to Obama's bigger government. Isn't this what you voted for?

Barack Obama doesn't know how to stimulate our economy .. but he sure knows how to brand a recovery plan.

Obama took some hits from the New York Times this weekend. And you know it is bad when Paul Krugman declares Obama's financial plans to be hopeless. And Frank Rich wants to know, "Has a 'Katrina Moment' Arrived?"

Joe Biden's economic advisor says that the House's bill to tax the bonuses of AIG employees at 90% may have "gone too far." Gee, ya think? The Obama shoot-from-the-hip plan.

Three major retailers have come up with compromise legislation for the card check bill. Naturally, this "corporate alternative" has already been poo-pooed by Capitol Hill.

A listener pointed us to this excellent article from American Thinker, Capping & Trading on Obama's $250,000 Lie.

Governor Mark Sanford explains why South Carolina doesn't want "stimulus."

Hugo Chavez had some thoughts for Barack Obama: "He goes and accuses me of exporting terrorism: the least I can say is that he's a poor ignoramus; he should read and study a little to understand reality."

Barney Frank says that Justice Antonin Scalia is a "homophobe."

The economy is forcing more women into strip clubs. Not as patrons.

What others are saying

  • Reading assignments are always fun.
Kent Conrad didn’t happen to vote for that ‘stimulus’ bill that reaffirmed those bonuses, did he? If they fire those execs, shouldn’t everyone that voted to protect those bonuses step down too?

Barney frank, of course, has immunity from lawsuits being filed by the shafted investors that believed him when he lied over and over, saying everything was hunky dory with fannie and freddy, or his obstruction of those trying to reform them before it was too late. Maybe members of congress should be sworn in every time they open their yap on the floor or in their committees. Maybe barney and everybody else that voted for the ‘stimulus’ and the 90% punishment tax should be taxed at 90% as well. They should at least return the fanny and freddy contributions and perks they raked in, since f&f’d failure is what sank AIG, isn’t that “the taxpayer’s money,” as well?

The NY Slimes criticism of the chosen one is only two and a half years late. Krugman calling it hopeless is the strongest argument FOR it I’ve seen yet.

If you believed hussein’s $250,000, 95% lie, you probably believed wild bill’s “Middle Class Tax Cut,” too. Suckers!

Someday hugo chavez will eat a well deserved JDAM. Until then, Citgo gets none of my dough.

Being called a homophobe by barney frank is like being called a racist by al sharpton. It’s not that you’re gay barney, that’s nothing new in Atlanta. It’s just that you’re a lying hypocritical creep that talks like a cartoon character. Your poor judgment and character, to be charitable, shows in your public and private life.

I was wrong, all those 3 million jobs hussein says he's going to create aren't government jobs, some will apparently be in the 'sex industry". I wonder if they will get card check too?.
  • Ronnie
    NCchik:

It takes alot of wishful thinking and willful denial of reality to say that Obama can't answer a question without a TelePrompTer. His speech pattern does change, but if you listen, he is very carefully selecting his words so he will not be misinterpreted (except for those who would do so willfully).
Listen to some of Reagan's speeches. You can hear the hesitation if the TelePrompTer gets slightly behind him. Letterman used to use a clip in his "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches" Where Ronnie nearly stumbles over the prompt. He did not "occasionally" use it He depended on it.

I'm just tired of hearing the foolish criticisms about using a TelePrompTer.
  • Homophobe
“I wouldn’t want it to go to the United States Supreme Court now because that homophobe Antonin Scalia has too many votes on this current court.”

How many votes does Scalia have?
  • Dan ???
what's your point? Looks like a group that over reacted. "Dead beat dads" was aimed at just that, dead beat dads, not ALL dads.
  • Palin and Stimulus $$$$
Why is it that several governors have turned down stimulus money - all providing good reasons for having done so. Palin turns down part of the stimulus and get's crucified. What's with this Palin fixation?
  • DEADBEAT DADS
    http://glennsacks.com/blog/?p=3498

THIS IS THE BLOG GOING ON ABOUT NEAL AND DEADBEAT DADS-DAN M.
  • Quick! Is the Teleprompter On?
Yes, Alabamastan - President Reagan, and all presidents since him have used a telprompter at one point or another. The difference is that they can ACTUALLY answer a question without one. Prezbo can't.
  • Barney Franks and AIG
Are you listening Massachuttes??? VOTE THIS MAN OUT. He is an embarrassment. Have you no shame?
  • Biden wants to sue AIG???
Since taxpayers own 79%, wouldn't that be like suing ourselves??? DUH
  • Saint Ronnie and the TelePrompTer
    Hey Jake!

Saint Ronnie (and it's Reagan, not "Regan") was a master at the TelePrompTer, using one at most public appearances. His handlers were terrified of his going "off message" because they knew there would be all kinds of damage control. So let's cool it about Barack's use of a TelePrompTer unless you take the same cheap shots at your great hero, Ronald "I don't recall" Reagan.
  • Economy Forcing Women to Strip?
"As a bartender and trainer at a national restaurant chain, Rebecca Brown earned a couple thousand dollars in a really good week. Now, as a dancer at Chicago's Pink Monkey gentleman's club, she makes almost that much in one good night."

This woman was making a few thousand PER WEEK which is what I make every other week (and more than some people make all month) and the writer wants us to believe the economy made her start stripping....

The article itself doesn't seem to support this. It talks of benefits like flexible schedules, making the same money faster, having fun with the girls and the like.

Just as with any other job decision, these women went into stripping due to the unique set of benefits it offers and not because of the economic downturn.
  • Recovery Logo
Wow! It's shaped just like nothing - a big ZERO! I feel so much better now.
  • logo
How much taxpayer money is paying for these stupid logos and websites designed to make us feel good about getting F'ed up the A by O?
  • Does this mean...
the average cost of a lap dance is coming down?

I KNEW Obama had something up his sleeve with his recovery plan...
  • recovery logo article
I had to supress my gag reflex with this line...
Vit: "If I were to take a guess, it might be one star for every year Obama will be in power -- but maybe that's just being optimistic."
  • Economy forcing more women into strip clubs
I guess this means that they're barely able to make ends meet.
  • Teleprompter
If Ronald Regan was know as “The Great Communicator or" can we now start calling Barak Obama “The Great Teleprompter"?
  • Fire bonus recipients?
If we are going to fire someone, let's fire the reps who own the earmarks that has put us in the death spiral of federal bankruptcy.
The bonuses are a lot less than the squander of the lawmakers who are robbing us blind.
Why do we sit and let this happen ... oh yeah ... we get to worship sports bums and slutty celebs. This makes us happy.
  • Card check swindle
    Unionize?
Just fire all employees and bring in contract workers. All employees have to do is not sign the cards.
    Works every time.
  • AIG employees and bonuses
According to most of the elected officials in Washington, (based on their vote last week), all AIG employees who received a bonus are (chose your disparaging word). Shouldn't each employee's performance and ethical behavior be judged individually? What are the odds that every employee is undeserving? What if it were you in this witch hunt? Is this truly just or are there cooler heads in (Salem) Washington?
  • Supply and Demand
RE: More women into stripping. I'm all for it. Should help lower the cost of a lap dance or get me some more time.
