The Fed has decided to pump another trillion dollars into the economy. Guess where that money is coming from? They are creating it out of thin air. Time to get out the WIN buttons.

Chris Dodd actually admitted that he was responsible for adding the bonus loophole into the stimulus package that permitted AIG and other companies that received bailout funds to pay bonuses. That's not all he's responsible for.

Will Obama's anger over these AIG bonuses end up backfiring on him? If the Republicans had their act together (which they don't), I'd say maybe that is a possibility.

Well that was fast .. Obama will not pursue a proposal that would have allowed the VA to charge private insurance companies for the treatment of veterans. He drove that wreck into the parking lot and it dented way too many fenders.

The Politico has a list of the 5 biggest myths about Obama. Damned racists.

I talked about this on the air yesterday .. but Democrats want to EXPAND the Community Reinvestment Act. Why are credit unions generally healthy today? Because the CRA didn't apply to them, that's why. Well ... let's change that.

The White House admits that its cap and trade scheme is going to cost three times the amount they originally cited. Try over a trillion dollars. Global warming - just an excuse for a grand new tax program.

And when it comes to healthcare, guess what? That is going to cost more than the White House planned as well. Try more than double what they were expecting.

Say what you will about George W. Bush, but he says he wants Barack Obama to succeed and that it's "essential" to support the new leader.

Remember yesterday when I told you about Barack Obama's teleprompter gaffe? What's interesting is that there doesn't seem to be any video of it on the Internet. Hmmm I wonder why that is.

Here's another news item that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy .. Russia has confirmed that it has a contract with Iran to sell powerful air-defense missiles.

Speaking of Russia. The Kremlin's idea for a global solution to this financial crisis is to establish an international currency.

Colorado wants to change the way the president is elected in its state. Please tell me they're going to restrict who can vote. Please. OH? They're not? I need to stop getting my hopes up like this.

Another issue we have to look forward to this summer .. immigration reform will be back at the top of the agenda.

Could we have yet another potential embarrassing cabinet nomination from Barack Obama? This time it is Commerce Secretary nominee Gary Locke.

This blubberbutt in Omaha is going to be reinstated as a police officer because the court believes he is still maintaining "at least a 'fair' level of physical wellness." You can be the judge.

Texas lawmakers are really worried about the important issues in this world .. like whether or not teenagers can use tanning beds.

A chaplain at a hospice in Boca Raton resigned because they banned him from using the words "God" or "Lord" in public settings. You have GOT to be kidding me.

What others are saying

  • Colora-DOH
So my question is this: if Colorado is going to give all of its electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote how does that not disenfranchise the Coloradans who vote in the election? Assume that Candidate A wins the national popular vote but more Coloradans vote for Candidate B. All of Colorado's electoral votes go to Candidate A, thereby overturning the will of the voters of Colorado. Remind me again why they should even bother voting.
  • It's Only Money
For those readers not around, or were still pooping yellow, during the Carter years, a "WIN" button stood for "Whip Inflation Now," which we know did not happen until Ronald Reagan lowered taxes. In four years we will be able to say that "Jimmy Carter is no longer our worst president." How short are our memories...
  • Colorado is D-U-M-B
If all the states passed such a law then all the focus of politicians would be on high population centers - this means election campaigns, favorable tax legislation, and federal spending.

    Catch a clue..
  • Libs movin' in
Hey anonymous, the same thing is happening here in GA. The libs keep moving in from Boston, Detroit, and California and are slowly changing our state into the ones they left b/c either taxes were too high or there are no jobs! Go figure. They move away from those places not realizing that their voting habits made those places that way!
  • Bush and Oil Prices
Bush definately had an effect on oil prices. I was playing close attention to it. When he lifted the executive order against offshore drilling the prices fell like a rock. Watch Obama rescind this and cause prices to rise again. Of course they're not making it a secret thats what they want. So much for helping the economy.
  • Joyce sweetheart
Are you blind to the hypocrisy of pointing out Clinton's involvement in Bush's failure to capture OBL on one hand while on the other saying how tired you are of people who blame today's bad behavior on the Bush years?

I'll give you leadership on 911. Personally, while I think it showed his indeciveness, I don't think Bush sitting with those children that morning made a difference to the day's events. It's noteworthy cause it's not what I want from the guy in charge but hey, he can have a mulligan.

Tossing them all starting over sounds good to me, too, btw.
  • I'm from CO and I DEFINITELY understand how dangerous a democracy is. It's all the frickin' Californians that keep moving here because they screwed up their own state so badly.
  • Gavin
Did Clinton not have 3 chances at Bin Laden??? Can't deny that one. I never blamed Obama for the gas prices so don't go adding fuel to the fire (typical).

Lack of leadership on 9/11 are you serious? He was doing plenty through his aides, like a president does, delegate till he can get to Air Force One when an emergency hits. That has been covered over and over and over again in multiple news sources so you can drop that act.

Never said I was a Bush fan just get tired of people using the Bush years as an excuse for more continued bad behaviour!!! Maybe you better check the content of the koolaid you are drinking BUDDY!

My personal preference would be to take every single politician in Washington, don't care what party, kick them all out and start over. If you had ever read any of my posts you would know that.
  • Bonus Loophole & Chris Dodd
So Chris Dodd admits to adding the bonus loophole in the stimulus package? My question is how come not a single person who signed off on the package, nor the President, realized it was there? Oh wait a minute, the fact is they didn't even READ the package before they signed off on it! So, here's a solution to this problem...let's make all of the people who signed off on this package, and yes I include the president in that, let's make them fork over the dollars to make up for the bonuses paid out. If we make them pay for being stupid and/or complacent when it comes to spending the taxpayers' money then maybe they'll start paying attention to all the crap they spew from their chambers. Hold THOSE people accountable.
  • Colorado
Apparently, Colorado doesn't understand how dangerous having a true democracy is.
  • Gary Locke-just another corrupt Obama official
He's actually under investigation for campaign finance "irregularities" linked to mainland China (i.e, Chicoms).

Hey, keeping in line with all the other corrupt cabinet nominees (Geithner, Daschle, Solis, etc. etc. etc.) this is no surprise. Why break a precedent and actually nominate someone who hasn't broken the law on multiple occasions?
  • Omaha Cop
He used to work in Detective Division, and then got put back on patrol?

There's more to this story. That would be a HUGE demotion.
  • Wow, Joyce
You're gonna get cool-aid all over yourself if you keep chugging it down like that.

What's ludicrious is you Bush fans who continue to talk like he's some innocent victim of all the bad things that happened to our country on his watch. Take some responsiblility and you might have an ounce of credibility outside the blind (dumb)masses who still think Republican equals conservative.

You blame Clinton for Iraq, you blame the Secret Service for Bush's complete and utter lack of leadership in the moments after finding out our country was under attack and you go on to say it's ludicious to think Bush had any effect on gas prices.....yet you're already blaming Obama despite the fact that you have very little access to his results and eight years worth of access to Bush's results.

Bush ran as a conservative and acted like a liberal; Obama ran as a liberal and guess what: he's acting like one. While you're so busy blaming previous administrations, don't forget to blame the Bush years for the fact that we now have Nancy and Obama in charge and there's nothing we can do about it but try to slow them down and ride out the storm. Oh wait, but that can't possibly be Bush's fault...no it can't be his fault that Republicans took a bath during his years....must be Clinton's fault....

    Talk about running your mouth.
  • Russian Idea
Maybe the Russians might be right on a standardized currency. After all when hyperinflation caused by our massive deficets kicks in the dollar will not be worth anything.
  • Colorado lemmings
As my late mother said to me (many, many times), "If every one of your dumb little friends decided to climb to the very top of the Empire State building and jump off, I suppose you'd have to do it too"

Let's all go along with the crowd instead of thinking for ourselves.

Stupid is as stupid does. - F. Gump
  • Colorado wants to change the way the president is elected?
If any of you read this article can anyone please tell me how this is actually helps the state? It is the state of Colorado so they can vote for something like this but one has got to believe that they are getting orders to do things like this from DC. What state is next? Texas? Oklahoma? Wherever there are Democrats in Red states you can be sure they will catch on. This is sure not going to make the lame stream news. I find it unconstitutional but thats me.
  • supporting the new leader...
If the president does not line up with the constitution, then he should not be supported. Sorry. Why should we support someone who absolutely refuses to take a look at their job descricption in the constitution and follow through with it? Its why I don't support Bush's ideas nor do I support Obama's.
  • Gavin
You really sound like you believe all that nonsense. But yet ignore things like the "bad intel" was from an intelligence community demolished by Clinton. Clinton also had 3 shots at BinLaden and refused to take them. How you figure Bush had any effect on gas prices is ludicrous.

And putting all that out there, does any of that give any excuse for what is being done NOW??? no

You also ran your mouth on another thread about Bush reading to children on 9/11. His Secret Service told him to stay put, he issued instructions to get info together for him like an executive does. Would you rather he had jumped up and scared those kids to death? That would have made great media.

Two wrongs don't make a right so get back to the current times.
  • Blubberbutt cop
Holy cholesterol Batman! If I were a criminal, I would most definitely want this guy chasing me. One block ought to do it.
  • Big Police
Some years back, a friend was questioned by tow policemen (long story). Afterwards he said, "If I had made a run for it, one of them would never have caught me."
  • Fat fuzz
That's the reason they are cops.
    Donuts-R-Us ...
And you are depending on BlubberButt to protect you?????
Cop says, "Boy, your eyes are red, have you been drinking?"
Boy replies: "Fuzz, your eyes look glazed, have you been eating donuts?"
  • Obama Myths
Ohhh...can I open the proverbial “can of worms” on the Obama myths by saying the #1 myth is that he was born in Kenya and is not qualified to be president.
  • Another trillion dollars
The first stimulus was apparently just a giant reparations package. After all South Carolina was told if they refused part of the money it was a slap in the fact of African Americans. Maybe another trillion will actually do something in the way of stimulus. Won't the expansion of the community reinvestment act just be expanding what caused this meltdown in the first place?
  • trillion dollars
The trillion dollars the Fed is "creating out of thin air" is interesting... What they're doing is effectively printing money, but they're using it to purchase government-insured commercial paper. This is not inflationary in the long-term, because they will collect back the funds either when the paper is paid off by the issuers or by the government. It is very likely to help stimulate the economy - and NOT in a way that will bankrupt the country.
  • Say what we will about George W. Bush?
Well we wouldn't have to, Neal, if you had given him the same level of scrutiny you give Obama.

How long did you dismiss the fact that we went to war in Iraq based on bad intel by distracting us with that pointless “Bush didn't lie because he didn't know it was a lie at the time” argument?

Remember absolving him from any responsibility for gasoline prices by asking if we honestly believe Bush has a room next to the Oval Office with a big dial where he sets gas prices every night?

Let’s not forget the way you dismissed his faulty claim that Iraq’s WMDs posed an imminent threat to the US by continuously out that it was wrong to say there were no WMDs. No kidding but they posed no threat to us.

And all the while more and more lives were lost and money spent fighting a war we did not need to fight. You love to point out the Rahm Emanuel quote “Never let a good crisis go to waste” but fail to mention the Bush line where he says in order to be a great President, you have to be a war time President. Real shame for the soldiers lost. Real shame we don’t have the trillion dollars we spent there. Real shame Bush couldn’t balance the books for Obama the way Clinton did for him. Real shame that rotten SOB Bin Laden isn’t facing justice.

Face it, a Republican put us here and you were cheering him on all the while.
  • George Bush
I just wanted to make a comment about George Bush. Despite what some people say about Bush, he has a lot more class than Barry Obama or Bill Clinton as far as I am concerned. On Jan. 20, he didn't hang around after Barry was sworn in, he left quietly and with a lot of dignity. I remember Clinton hanging around for hours so people could chant 4 more years....
  • Omaha Blubber
I was in the Gwinnett County courthouse a while back while my wife was getting a carry permit. You have to go to two places to get all the paperwork done.

I have never seen so many large uniformed people in one place at one time. The word waddling comes to mind.

Sometime ago I read about a physical fitness test you had to pass to become a deputy. It was pretty lame, but I doubt many of these people could pass the test. How did they get hired?

There was something like drag a dummy (body) 20 feet in 5 minutes. Whew! Run a half mile in 20 minutes.

I figured that these people were being punished for something or had been given duty in sedentary positions in the courthouse because they were too large to fit in vehicles - or at least safely get in and out of them much less running down some crook.
  • Russian Air Defense to Iran ??
Is this the same Russian system that was totally blind to the Israeli air raid on a nuclear reactor in Syria last September?? Spend away, Iran! The Israelis won't care or change their plans, whatever those plans might be!
  • Fat cops
    Give him his job back!

Sorry, but you have been reassigned to the Human Shield Division!!!
