· Number of States won by: Democrats:19 Republicans: 29
· Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
· Population of counties won by: Democrats:127 million Republicans: 143 million
· Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years. If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

There are probably no disabled children in his family. As the parent of a physicaly disabled child, I understand the wrath of the parents of Special Olympics children. I don't think he meant it meanspirited. I just don't think he thought or has thought about it at all. As the N word is not allowed in my house, neither is the word "retard". Give me a break. I agree with the thin skin comment below.
He was obviously poking fun at himself. Any ensuing indignation about the comment could only be based on one of two reasons:
1. Complete hatred for Obama. I 'hate' his politics and the fact that he is hellbent on trampling individualism, but I wish him no personal ill will.
2. Buy-in to hypersensitivity. Someone would have to be very callous to not recognize the merits and great work that the Special Olymics does. He was not denigrating the Special Olympics or its participants.
For those who still don't understand, it is very similar to Neal's take on the Kennedys' ordeal with Ted's condition (Kennedys' - for the grammar and puncuation police - did I get this right? - I'll even leave the period outside the closing parenthasis - is there a singular for parenthasis or does the adjective closing do it for you????).

I've been hearing alot about this on Talk radio today. Everyone seems to be missing one important point. What the H--- is the president of the US doing on the Jay Leno show? I though he was a politican not a celebrity! So what important matter of State had to be cancelled to do this bufoon act on Leno. Have the US people lost their freaking minds? This guy isn't a Statesman, he's a Showman. I'm pissed. Not because I voted for him, but because I'm not a US citizen so I can't vote. I cannot believe that there were enough idiots to put this guy into office. I have no respect for him, none.
The Special Olympics comment
Personally I cant stand this president or anything he believes in or stands for. I think he is a miserable failure at the job so far and he is entirely underqualified to be the president. Also, going on a entertainment talk show as the sitting CINC is disgraceful. What an idiot..........BUT C'mon the man was making a joke. I cant stand the sensitivity of society. He wasn't comparing his bowling to WATCHING the Special Olympics. He was comparing it to PERFORMING in them. It's akin to saying "That's so retarded." Not funny if one of your family members is mentally handicapped.

Well, it looks like government education has worked to completely dumb down a generation of Americans. After all, the young voters helped to put this clown in office.

For all the people who don't think the president's remarks were inapropriate - what if Former President Bush had said the same thing? Obama needs to have his happy bottom sitting in Washington and quit hopping around trying to convince everyone, and himself, that what is going on in DC is good for us. He really shouldn't have to "sell" this crap if he truly believed in it. I don't think it's a bad thing that he bowls a few frames or takes in an NCAA tourney game - just don't make it a press event. He won the election he can quit the campaigning. Although he did spend about what, 18 months, campaigning the last time so by my estimation he's due to start up again by next summer. Also, let's hold him and the senate responsible for the AIG bonuses by making them fork over the dollars for that gaffe. I mean they were the ones who evidently didn't read the bill before voting for and/or signing it so if they're too stupid to pay attention to what they're actually agreeing to they should literally pay the price.
