NANCY'S PERSONAL AIRLINE ... THE U.S. MILITARY

I've been telling you about this for some weeks now ... ever since our wonderful Democrat congress started demonizing anyone who uses a private jet in their business.

Nancy Pelosi's business is running the U.S. House of Representatives, and Nancy not only has one private jet at her disposal; she has a fleet. That's right, a fleet of private jets, paid for by the taxpayers, that shuttle her and her friends and family where they please. Nancy's fleet is operated by the Pentagon. According to a report from Judicial Watch, Nancy repeatedly requested military aircraft and treated the Air Force as her "personal airline." Based on e-mails and other documents, Nancy regularly made special demands for high-end aircraft, often canceled at the last minute and racked up some serious expenses for the military .. and ultimately the taxpayers. What's more (and this is no surprise) Princess Nancy and her staff would be just a wee bit abusive when they couldn't get their way. In one email recovered with a FOIA request, Pelosi's aid Kay King wrote "It is my understanding there are NO G5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable ... The Speaker will want to know where the planes are." In other words ... if you can't cough up a G5 for the Speaker, you had better tell her were your G5s are and who is using them so she can make a determination as to whether or not she is being slighted.

In another case Pelosi wanted her husband to tag along on a congressional trip to Iraq. The Pentagon had to remind Madam Speaker that spouses are not allowed to go along on military trips.

Public servant? Yeah right .. these people are our RULERS, folks. We are here to provide for them ...to provide a basis for their power. What good is a ruler without someone to rule? That would be us.

    is the reason she is flying on military aircraft.

    I'm as right wing as they come and have ZERO respect for Madam Speaker. She is the ultimate hypocrite and thinks she's the supreme ruler of the world, but the fact is that she is 3rd in line for the presidency and should have secure transportation. The next speaker of the house may be someone who would make a good president if necessary.

    Having said that, she should shut her mouth about how CEOs travel and someone should look into whether or not she is abusing this privilege. Even if it is proven she is abusing this, what can we do? She will continue to abuse this until Californians get a brain transplant and vote her out.

However, why would we expect that from someone who probably web browses on a Speak & Spell machine. I do have a question though. How do they fit you for glasses when you have Down Syndrome?     OK, guys (and gals), if these clowns won't impose term limits on themselves, I think it's about time to do it for them. I would challenge everyone to NOT vote for the incumbent in the mid-term elections next year. It may take a couple of election cycles for them to get it, but I ga-ron-tee that once they understand they work for US, stories like this will disappear.

    Yeah, it costs a lot to do this. But she is, after all, third in line of succession to be President and is a big security risk.

    If there's any evidence she's using military planes for non-official business than that needs to be stopped. But neither the article nor Neal's summary provides any such evidence.

    And, politically speaking, it looks extremely hypocritical for Republicans to be bellyaching about this when the previous Republican Speaker used military planes as well. No, that doesn't make it right, but it makes current complaints about the act look like nothing more than political bickering.

    It's the fact that she needs to go coast to coast for "security reasons". I'm not quite clear as to why this is the case, since in all likelihood she would be landing on a .mil AFB for refueling anyway.

  • Where is the line?
    Despite what the Speaker believes, there is only one person who controls the armed forces, and that is the Commander and Chief of the Armed forces, President Obama. However, that fact does not make me, and maybe many of you, feel at all better.
    I do not understand how this woman remains in the position she is in, and I will admit my ignorance to the fact. However, where is the line? Where is it said that the Speaker of the house has the right to even ASSUME that she has the ability to tell the Army and Air-Force what to do?
    The fact is that she misuses her power and we all know that. I can only ask, where is the line? When will we say "we have had enough"? This is our country and it's our lives that these people are playing with darn it. The military is made up of our sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers and she has no right to treat so many of the bravest men and women with such disrespect.
    Neal, where is the line? You are one of the most important men I know; men who have what it takes to stand up and say "No!" when everyone else bends over and asks "be gentle?"

    She booked flights EVERY SINGLE weekend of the year, you tool. DON'T try to deflect this one, the FACTS say otherwise. Newt and others didn't even come CLOSE to this outrage.

    Check your records and I think you will find that Newt traveled amost of the time on COMMERCIAL airlines.

    And besides, this started oput to be an issue days after to she took the speakers seat, one of the first things that she complained about was how small the plane for the speaker was.

    So, Her Highness says that for security reasons she cannot fly commercial. Funny, I'm a professional in my mid-40s, working for a defense contractor, who flies commercially all the time. Since I usually travel alone, the TSA considers me eligible for "special" treatment before boarding. Maybe Ms. Pelosi just considers removing her shoes and getting the TSA's proctological exam beneath her station in life.     Last night on Hannity, Rove explained that this whole Pelosi/aircraft thing is a security safeguard, since she is 3rd in line to the Presidency. Dennis Hastert and Pelosi both had this perk under Bush, and it is nothing new under the new President. The real issue is that in standard cases, Pelosi has to take a plane that makes a fuel stop half way to California, and she wants a jet that flies non-stop, of which there are very few. Yes, its a little much, but you can't really rail her for having government-paid transportation.

    Having more than a passing knowledge of the goings on with regard to these flights, I am not surprised that Madame Speaker expects her perks, considering that she is the "Queen of the Entitled." It would be quite interesting to hear how Madame treats the flight crews during her travels, yet I know that the crews are highly professional and would never relay such information to the public. I can only surmise the behavior I witnessed firsthand with Congressional staffers. Many of them were the most vicious, inconsiderate, rude and hostile people I ever met.

    You want to talk about doing research Read to the END of the snopes article. It still confirms that she was using aircraft to cart herself around, just that it wasn't a 200 seater jet. The bottom part of the article mentions current events while earlier on on the article is a story from 2008.

  • All that snopes article says is she did not order a 200 seat jumbo jet. I fail to see why, given her wealth she cannot afford to charter a jet. She does not nearly have the recognition of a Tipp or Newt. For those who want the judicial watch article itself.

    I read the snopes.com article on this and concede the security issue. I think the public's problem with this is that on one hand, Pelosi will criticize a CEO for using a private jet and then she does the same thing. The CEO's are using private jets for security reasons as well. Many companies have a policy to use a corporate jet so that the CEO will be more secure. They can be the victims of kidnapping or whatever.

    Pelosi uses this issue as well as CEO pay as a class-warfare wedge issue. In both cases, the comparative dollar value is small; but, agreeably the PR damage is far greater.

    Neal, I am sure you are just picking on Speaker Pelosi. You know President Obama is demanding Transparency with the government. He is really keen on publishing web pages. I suggest, 30 days after a flight, each flight manifest, cost and passenger list be published on this new webpage. I am sure the taxpayers would appreciate knowing how our tax dollars are spent. The President has asked for transparency.
