Did you hear about the United Nation's latest plans on climate change? A UN document distributed to a major environmental assembly envisions, "a huge reordering of the world economy, likely involving trillions of dollars in wealth transfer, millions of job losses and gains, new taxes, industrial relocations, new tariffs and subsidies, and complicated payments for greenhouse gas abatement schemes and carbon taxes -- all under the supervision of the world body."

This shouldn't come as a surprise to you. I've been telling you for years that the purpose of this global warming movement is to redistribute wealth around the world. And who better to be in charge of that task than the United Nations.

Don't listen though. Global warming is real, right? That's why the earth has been cooling for eight years.

    I'd like to give the big middle finger salute to Al Gore and all his Global Warming cronies.
    I work for the Police department in New Mexico as a crossing guard for my daughter's school.
    This morning, nearly the end of March, I stood on that corner in 31 degree temperatures with 60 mile and hour winds. There are no number of layers that can keep that kind of cold from cutting through you.
    I'd give anything or a few extra degrees of global warming from 7:30a - 8:30a every morning.

    Kick the UN out of America. It is a corrupt, anti-American, racist, immoral cesspool. Disband it or relocate it to Haiti. The US should leave it. That piece of New York realestate could be put to much better use.

    I have often heard that bad information is worse than no information, that kind of says it all. I'm sure one could tweak any statistics he or she wanted to and state their case. On the other hand, when I see the Weather Channel pushing 'Climate Change' and hyping up the 'warming' theories, I have to wonder who's pulling the strings here. If you go back and look at centuries, not a dacade, we've been here before. Climate change isn't new and isn't exclusive to man's presence. Hello! If there really were a concensus among scientists, I might take it seriously. There isn't, so I don't. Are we leaving our 'footprint'? Without a doubt. Can we 'turn it around'? I doubt it. Not in our lifetime. Comparing deniers of Global Warming with Holocaust deniers is pretty much all you can expect from the left. And as far as saving the baby Polar bears, I hope they're feasting on well meaning but foolish 'researchers' and 'advocates' who are freezing their buns off in the name of bad science. Al Gore would keep em fat and happy for a while, eh?

    I try to do my part to reverse global cooling. I burn fossil fuels constantly, eat foods that generate farts, and I spray aerosol whenever I can.

    I'm probably just beating myself up, but I feel like I can do more.

  • False Dichotomy
    I've never understood why the fact that idiots want to use global warming to advance a socialist agenda must mean that the science on global warming is wrong. The science isn't wrong -- their solutions are wrong. Dead wrong. All the will accomplish, if anything, is to make the problem worse by crushing innovation and technological development.

    I'll agree with you that these people don't give a fig about science -- they see an opportunity for power. Algore is a perfect example (his prior excuse for power grabbing was competition from Japan.) But that doesn't make the science wrong.

    By your logic, the fact that the Democrats are using the financial crisis to advance a big-government agenda ("don't let a crisis go to waste") means there is no financial problem -- the economy is great!

  • U.N.
    On a somewhat similar subject: this past week we were supposed to turn off all of our lights for one hour. I for one, turned on every single light in my house, except my daughters room since she needs to sleep. Practically my entire neighborhood went dark though, and wouldn't ya know it. My neighbors empty rental house, two doors down, was broken into and vandalized. Me, I kept my Mossberg .410 pump close by, just in case.

    Has the UN ever accomplished anything beneficial?I can't seem to recall anything it has tried to do except expand corruption and socialism.Only the naive or unintelligent actually listens to them.I smell a fight brewing.

    Cooling for a decade? Every year this decade has been warmer than every year between 1840 and 1990. Those are just the years with good stats -- indirect evidence suggests this was the warmest decade in at least 2000 years.

    A 0.1 degree drop does not counter the two degree rise we've seen over the last century. But keep playing creationist with the climate.

    Neal, this should have been your lead story in the Nuze this morning: a published plan to take over the world and destroy national sovereignty.

    The pattern of the lefty/statist crowd is always to keep talking about their horrible plans until they seem like commonplace ideas. You have to scream about this stuff immediately... shout it back into it's evil hole so it has no chance to gain purchase.

    From the wonderful folks who brought you the "Oil for Food" scam comes "Brave New World".
    Only the UN is capable of overseeing such a monumental undertaking ( emphasis on "taking" ) and I'm an astronaut and on the weekends I sub for the Tooth Fairy.
