We are now reaping what was sown by the Republicans when they were in charge.They never had the guts to use the nuclear option on judges.They always operated with short sighted thinking.The left is always thinking of down the road.Thats why the courts are loaded with liberals.Thats why the next elections will be stolen by voters that have no right to be voting.If the republicans had delt with the problems and solved them in a conservative way instead of putting them off for political correctness reasons then the liberals would still be in the wilderness.
If you conservatives ever get in charge again, for Gods sake,have guts.Don't show mercy to liberal fools,they will certainly show none to you.

President Obama can always go into the used car business when he has to step down from his current post. He's selling lemons right and left( no pun intended). The Liberals( there's nothing 'progressive' about them so they're still Liberals )know they have to strike while the iron is hot. Starting 2010, my ten year old could run and beat an imcubent Democrat. Probably do a better job, certainly smarter, more honest,too. The President understands that the DNC is on a short leash, Better pass as much bad legislation as possible to try to keep some of their gains. In the meantime, we need voices like Neal, Glenn Beck, Dennis Prager, Bill Bennett, people who's logic you can't refute, to speak out loudly. And Rush, who showboats a lot but get's it right more than he get's it wrong, to pick away at the flimsy house of cards the left has put up since getting in by default. Honestly, you did, you know it, we know it. Keep hammering away, the voters will catch on. Otherwise, our worst fears of a socialized( and broke ) America will come true. People are finally starting to realize how bad this guy will be with a Democrat controlled Congress watching his back. Transparency? Yeah, I can see right through the guy! And his recycled Clinton Clan...ditto! Keep the 'Change'!

If we are talking about procedures of congress, let's go ahead and get this on the table. The nuclear option had to do with voting on judges. Specifically, it was to make it impossible to filibuster judicial appointments. The republicans were going to pull the trigger on this, to block the dem filibustering.

I favored this move, because I never understood the value of "reading from phone books" to eat up time. I guess it was supposed to force people to debate issues until consensus was found, but that isn't what happens.

So...when the dems decide to execute the nuclear option (and you know they will!), I will have to say that I support it there too. If the dems are in control, and have been voted in with enough rope to hang themselves, then let them hang!

There's a big difference to using that tactic to address existing policies and using that tactic to implement new ones that have never been debated in Congress. All of Obama's involve more new taxes and spending. The examples you listed below didn't.

One of the things that makes Dems generally more effective politically is their take no prisoners approach. They will lie, cheat, steal, ignore facts, previous positions, and basically do anything they can get away with to move their agenda forward. Principled Democrats have either retired or been forced out.

Standing by with your thumb secured firmly in your nether regions is no way to combat the Dem social-fascism juggernaut. Unfortunately, that's exactly what the GOP seems to be doing.

We need a guy like Newt (or actually Newt) who is capable and not afraid of a knock-down, drag out battle. The stakes are high; nothing less than the future of freedom and liberty for the good 'ol USA.

2006: Bush uses the budget-reconciliation method to force through cutbacks in Medicare and Medicaid.

2005: "Republican leaders indicate that they plan to press the issue of drilling in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as part of a so-called budget reconciliation process, which cannot be subject to a Democratic filibuster–a tactic that has blocked the refuge’s development in the past."

Hey, guess who was chairman of the House Budget Committee at that time--Judd Gregg, the same guy whining about it now!
