One of the themes of PrezBO's Presser was that all of the problems facing this country, not to mention mankind, will be solved with some sort of government-run healthcare system. No about of anecdotal evidence that government-run healthcare is a mess is going to do nothing to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called "free health care."

There is one big reason the left is pushing this government health care idea, and it has nothing to do with actually giving a damn about your health. It is about control These people want to control every possible aspect of your life. They know that when they control your health care they control you. Simple as that. Not simple enough, however, for the government educated dumb masses in this country to quite grasp it.

What others are saying

  • Meatball???
Anyone who knows me knows I don't even use that word, moron.
  • Political Suicide
Democrats are committing political suicide if they stick with this guy too much longer. They can't be that dumb. Can they? This guy is on the way to forming his own political party separate from America and the constitution. He will be his followers dictator or king. He will be a pain in the butt and an agitator for decades to come and always a threat to America.
  • AH Steve
    W H A T????

I haven't heard that much cr*p since the 60's and 70's. What handout did you get that from?
  • Translation for Scrillmonger
You want to know what this says? No AMOUNT of anecdotal evidence that government-run healthcare is a mess is going to do ANYTHING to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called "free health care."
  • Health Care
To Betty you are correct. I am an anesthesiologist. Friends of mine have hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans. We all pay many thousands of dollars for malpractice insurance. Nobody is suggesting that we reform medical education, or the malpractice system. Funny that most of the people crafting health care reform are Lawyers. Adjusted for inflation physicians have never made less. I have 150000.00 in loans from medical school. I work 70 hours a week providing what would otherwise be lethal combinations of medications without my expertise. Cases ranging from pediatric cardiac, liver transplantation, neurosurgery etc. All for the reasonable sum of three hundred thousand dollars. Before taxes. Am I wealthy and deserving of public disdain? I feel that I provide a critical service. I have paid my dues. I have not won the lottery of life as some suggest. I made choices starting in 7th grade that I would commit myself to a life of academics rather than partying with my friends. Gone are the days that the local physician was a respected member of the community. What will be the solution if medical enrollment declines. Will BO's brown shirt "paid volunteers" fill the gap?
  • From Palestine to Health care
How the hell did Obama take a question about peace between Israel and Palestine and turn that into an opportunity to talk about health care and education?? I literally started laughing when he went there. I just looked at my wife and said, "We're screwed". This guy's as clueless on foreign policy as he is on economic policy.
  • the good ol days.
"Soon, we may look back at the Carter years as "good 'ol days" for Democrats."

-- If public policy, and public education continue on their current path, all the time before Obama will be vilified as dark ages, when people died in the streets for lack of health care.

Before The Lightworker came to power, our children will learn that greed ruled on Wall Street, executives looted companies, and nobody had job security.

They will learn that a failed system called Capitalism finally met its end, and in January 2009, the Earth began to heal.
  • Control not the motive
I don't believe Mr. Boortz is right when he says that the Democrats want government healthcare because they want control over people.

Although I would not rule out that motive for certain segment, it seems that most Democrats genuinely want to do good, and they see this as a good thing.

If they can take money from the rich, and give it to the poor, they will consider themselves to be moral, and having done a good deed.

...unlike those evil, Jesus-freak Republicans who would let those who earned their money keep it.

It is too bad that their economic illiteracy prevents them from foreseeing the predictable result.
  • imposter?
You're the imposter. Look everybody, I'm the real LiberalHater, not this jerk who is only trying to make me look like a stupid racist by putting words in my mouth. Enjoy yourself, meatball. Go back to the Ghetto where you belong and stop saying I think Obama hates white people even though he probably does.
  • as I understand it
Our government that has brought us such great and efficient programs such medicare & medicaid is now going to spread it around and force everyone to participate. It won't work, will cost more and GUESS WHAT someone will have to decide who "qualifies" for what treatment. That will not be me, your physician, because NO ONE from the govenment has asked for our input, and they have no plans to. Your "cost to benefit ratio" will be determined by a bureaucrat. The public will suffer a shortage of MDs because many of us will retire before this debacle is fully realized.
  • PROOF READ per Rollie Smith
Hey Rollie, before you go calling Neal out on his minor mistakes make sure your entry is foolproof as well. His last name is spelled "Boortz" NOT "Bortz".
  • Pete & LH
If you can find it, there is a great video of how easy it is to develop the conditions for a "Hitler" to take over. Look for "The Wave". It's geared toward High School students but left a lasting impression on me as regards mob rule.
  • Another grammatical nightmare
No about of anecdotal evidence that government-run healthcare is a mess is going to do nothing to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called "free health care."

    Can someone please translate this?
  • Promote the general welfare
With national health care will result in a repeat of what has happened in our public schools since Brown vs. The Board of Education. Public schools are now designed to educate an average IQ of below 90 and we now are reaping the rewards in the workplace, polls, prisons, and economy. The government controls education, not the parents.
The same people that gave us dumbed down public schools want to give us dumbed down health care. Every major city will have one big hospital with foreign doctors and nurses that couldn't care less about your broken arm.
Of course, the wealthy will continue to get quality health care in the Carribean or India just as they continue to send their kids to quality private schools. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Just as in the old Soviet Union.
  • To the LiberalHater Imposter
Nice try on making it out to look like that was me talking. It's probably Copyleft or Hugo's Ghost, who have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation, but decide to have fun with other people's names. However, you are right about Obama being like Hitler. The only difference is, he wants to wipe out the whites and not the jews.
  • It is simple math
Taxes take 35+ percent of the GDP. Healthcare takes another 35+ of the GDP. If he can control 70+ percent of the GDP he can easily take the remaining balance.
  • Gov't Health Care
One only needs to look at what Congress has done with both active duty (dependent) and veteran/retiree health care to see that they do not care about providing adequate services.

Congress was looking at applying the same bovine excrement to disabled veterans that they laid on active duty dependents, retirees, and veterans.

You, the receiver of gov't provided health care, must Pay-To-Play, or receive no care. You, the receiver of gov't provided health care, must accept only the treatment approved by the gov't. You, the receiver of gov't provided health care, must use any other health insurance before receiving the gov't promised health care.

Take a look at any socialized (gov't provided) health care and you will soon find that you are limited to only gov't approved services, gov't determined wait times, and can lose life or limb before receiving treatment.
  • PROOF READ
    PER BORTZ:
"No *about*?? of anecdotal evidence that government-run healthcare is a mess is going to do *nothing**?? to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called "free health care."

Come on Neal, folks are going to think that you were educated by the government!
  • @and it may show me as an ignoramus....
    it does.
  • right to life?
I've been mulling this around, and it may show me as an ignoramus.. but I wnt to ask anyway.

right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness right?

if the govt controls your healthcare.. and they deny you a life saving treatment.. isnt that denying you your right to life?

Perhaps this will roll some eyes but.. I challenge on this basis that the idea of govt healthcare is unconstitutional.

not to mention the powers not explicitly defined to the federal govt are to remain with the states and the people.

if CA MA IL NY NV want to enact a state run govt healthcare.. they are welcome to do it.. but we here in the great state of GA dont want it.
  • Healthcare
When are people in this country going to realize that there is no such thing as "free healthcare for all Americans", somebody HAS to pay for it and that somebody is the American taxpayer. You know, old sayings are usually "old sayings" because there is a grain of truth in them and the old saying, "Nothing in this world is free" is the one the Republicans need to get out to ALL Americans. When the GOP starts getting out there stumping like good ole PrezBO is still doing and start really educating the masses about what all these grand plans are going to mean to each and every one of us who work hard for what we have then maybe we can start to get this country back on track. But I guess that's just too much common sense for Washington. Let's fire EVERY SINGLE ELECTED OFFICIAL in DC and start over! Wishful thinking, I know.
  • Government-run healthcare
As long as all the DC government lawmakers are required to report to Grady for their health care. Oh yeah, and no cutting line ... !
  • Healthcare
Is the government going to give free education for people who want to be doctors. Will anyone be able to get in as is the case of colleges now or will they have to be at least moderately intelligent. Training to be a doctor takes a lot of money and if there is a shortage of good doctors now wait till the government determines their pay scale.
  • reform?
I heard several times in the presser last night night that the key to solving our fiscal crisis lies in the administration's plan to reform education, heathcare, and energy (by implementing cap & trade policies). How exactly do these items both stimulate the economy and correct inefficient government regulated market actions?

I would have thought that lowering taxes of all types would have been the simplest, most effective means to solve our crisis. I suppose that would just take all the fun out of it for the progressives.
  • I've often wondered...
I've wondered how it is that things progressed as they did in Germany from 1932 to 1938.

While I'm not going to say that Obama is Hitler, I am seeing how easy it is to lead a group of sheeple to do something that they would normally say, "WTF" and rebel against.

I'm glad I'm not 30 years of age now. Soon, we may look back at the Carter years as "good 'ol days" for Democrats.
