ANOTHER "DON'T LET A CRISIS GO TO WASTE" MOMENT

The ObamaBots really like this line, don't they? Rambo E. was the first one to come out with it: "you never let a good crisis go to waste." We've actually heard those words from the Leader of the Free World as well. Yesterday it was the tax cheat in chief ... Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. He was testifying before some group of self-important legislators in Washington when he uttered the line again, though in slightly different form. Said Geithner: "We have a moment of opportunity here, and we don't want to waste this opportunity." What was he talking about? Regulation. Getting the government more and more involved in regulating the private sector.

I know you hate it when I bring this up, but how else are you going to learn? What sort of economic system do you call it when industry, businesses and financial institutions are privately owned but government controlled? The word would be "fascist." Never let a good learning opportunity go to waste.

What others are saying

  • Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste...
    Well, Neal...

You are wrong from the start. Rahm Emanuel is NOT the first person ever to Rahm Emanuel is NOT the first person ever to use the expression: "never let a good crisis go to waste."

It has been used for years in business models as a productive way of looking at -- and dealing with -- difficult situations which arise.

And Geithner just spelled it out when he said: "We have a moment of opportunity here, and we don't want to waste this opportunity."

BTW, G.W. Bush & Co may never have verbalized the concept " 'you never let a good crisis go to waste' "

...BUT they sure used the Hell out of the crisis of 9/11 to try to dismantle the Constitution and destroy the American way of life for all US citizens but the wealthy top 2%.

You ask about Geithner: "What was he talking about?"

The financial mess the Bush administration got us into IS the crisis and despite the incessant attempts by the Republican Right-Wingers to stop President Obama and his administrations hard work and endeavors to correct the problem, they are sticking to it.

Re: "Regulation. Getting the government more and more involved in regulating the private sector."

The problem with the Bush and Republican Administrations -- AFTER Ike's Presidency -- is getting too much of the wealthy private sector into government.

In fact, they pretty much own our government, but the Obama administration is working to reverse that.

And if they need to nationalize some entities on the way to fixing the problem -- well those wealthy private sector owners and managers owned and managed this system into the mess it's in now -- and why should the average citizen pay for their mistakes.

They had everything, they mangled what they had with their wanton disregard for decency and principle and with their hedonistic greed and now want all of us to pay for their excesses and losses?

    I don't think so.

That's an inaccurate definition of fascism. But I it would take several more pages for me to put in the correct definition with explanations.

But you could do a Google search for definitions of fascism.
  • editting comments
Web Chick -- please do not edit comments. a. I'm sure you have more productive things to do and b. I have no problem with a name calling. It's the internets afterall!
  • two bones to pick
I am officially asking anyone that wants to turn this country into a socialist state to leave. It is very simple, if you think socialism is great then move to a socialist country, don't ruin ours.

I also want to point out how moronic this whole voting out all incumbents idea is. I've got a better idea, how about just voting out the bad ones, Doesn't that make more sense? The whole idea is to teach them that there are consequences to their actions, isn't it?
  • Show Me
Show me this quote that I must "read closer" to see where Copy tells Boortz to leave. Put up or shut up. It's not there. There is nothing close to it.

Thanks for making my point by calling me a troll. Doesn't it frighten you that LiberalHater is so fond of you? I believe he just came to your defense, Joyce!

LibHater -- What's your real name? She's going to need it for the restraining order.
  • Copyleft is really NEAL
Hey, heres a thought. Copylet is really Neal or one of his staff. He is trying to get US, the dumb masses that listen to his show to go out and research the truth.

Its either that or Copyleft is really a morON, that enjoys being called stupid all the time.
  • Sorry
    Sorry, Alan!
  • Yes he did Gavin
You are not paying attention, he said for Boortz to leave. He didn't spell his name out but you have to read just a little bit closer....

The only trolls here are you.
  • You're wrong if you believe this stops with simply new regulations
I am sorry to say, but the intention of this administration is to finally force a world currency down our throats. This is basically what our forefathers always warned us could happen. We are literally being taken over by the Federal Reserve and the IMF. The things that had always been laughed off as conspiracy talk is now in full force. Oh well it was always gonna happen. I just hoped it wouldn't happen in my lifetime.
  • What happened to the comment screening
    To whomever screens the comments:

Please stop posting the comments that directly attack another poster. If the comment has something worth merit, edit the comment to allow us to read it.

I do not enjoy reading the direct hate-filled comments directed at other posters on here ( I have no problem with anger aimed at politicians so-much-as an actual point is attempted to be made ) and prefer a site where actual view points are expressed.

    Thank You.
  • To Gayvin
I'll make this plain and simple for you....LEAVE PLEASE...It would help relieve the constipation I'm feeling
  • Anybody home Joyce?
You claim the exact opposite of what is right here in plain sight for all to see so often that I have to ask: do you know how to use your browser's scrollbar? Nowhere in here does Copy tell people to leave. It's the righties and their troll comments.

As far as blaming one side goes, I have never seen a comment from you that was remotely balanced. I admit I don't hang on your every word but from what I have seen you are about as one-sided as it gets. BTW, who do you think my buddies are? Just because I think the people who are so eager to forgive Republicans are morons doesn't mean I support Socialism. Just means I'm not ready to get suckered again like some of you.
  • DRIP
DRIP = Don't Return Incumbent Politicians. Get it? At election time think DRIP.
If you burned yourself would you do the same thing again? Osamabama supporters need not answer, we know what you will say.
  • Gavin only reading what he wants
Copy is the one telling people to leave, I'm just wondering why he enjoys hanging around to be insulted.

And you have constantly ignored those of us who blame both sides. And yet you and your buddies just want to blame one side.

Just once, I would like someone in Washington stand up and say "we" screwed up. Both sides.

Then we kick them all out...
  • mistake
In my earlier posting I used, the incorrect nickname for Copytheft's favorite messiah

    Instead of:
The Socialist-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamamomadingo are trying to destroy this great country.
    or
The Social-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamamomadingo are trying to destroy this great country.
    It SHOULD read:

Socialist-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamlamadingdong are trying to destroy this great country.

    And

Social-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamlamadingdong are trying to destroy this great country.

English ain't my first language as you can see. Please accept my apologies.

    Re: Copyleft - BUSTED
    By Roberta @ 03/27/09 11:43:52 AM

Whoa... I've often thought this myself, but didn't think they would let me post anything mentioning it.
  • @ Stan G
If you think Obozo and / or his henchmen have anything to do with the gain or loss of the current market you're dumber than I thought. This is short term investor buying low(driving the price up) and selling high(driving the price down). They are working the market in order to make a buck. Give credit where credit is due. Certainly not to your messiah.
  • Boortz lie
Boortz claims we've heard the leader of the free world say "you never let a good crisis go to waste."

No chance Obama said that. Anyone care to post a link to the quote? Betcha can't but I'm sure to most of you, it doesn't matter that it isn't true.
  • what it really means
When he says the "moment of opportunity", I think he means before he gets thrown out on his ass.
  • graham leach bliley
....don't forget authored by the father of the finacial crisis, Republican Senator Phil Gramm.

Good call, Alan. Seems most people in here aren't interested in why we're here, they just want to bash anything that isn't their boy George Bush. Can't be easy to sit around and pretend Bush did nothing wrong during his 8 years in office. You have to ignore so much.

Love the troll comments, as if you righties have membership to the exclusive Boortz Country Club. lol. it's a free website, ladies! get over yourselves and if you can't, YOU LEAVE. Go somewhere else and tell your little righty friends about how Obama is the arrogant one (certainly not you!).
  • Actually...
"I know you hate it when I bring this up, but how else are you going to learn? What sort of economic system do you call it when industry, businesses and financial institutions are privately owned but government controlled?"

It would be communism. Fascism as an ideology based more on social order and less on any one economic idea. Though it strongly, in most cases, advocates corporatism, the fascist idea of corporatism is much different than what a capitalist would say a corporation is. In fact fascism strongly objects to such things as communism and communists because it is an belief system that provides individuals with a collective identity different (possibly) than that of the fascist's desire for a collective national identity.

According to Neal's original statement communism would be a much better analogous economic system.
  • Copyleft - BUSTED
Copyleft isn't a real person. The name makes it obvious!

Thinking in the manner of a conspiracist..., it could be that a staff member of Boortz (or even Boortz) is just "Copying" from some leftist website and pasting here... to make things interesting.

Granted this may be a person that just can't think on his own and just COPIES LEFTIST crap and posts it here.

Either way - these are two plausible theories...
    YOU"RE BUSTED!
  • sloppy left
People, please stop encouraging the two village idiots, sloppy left and hugo's toast. You're giving they exactly what they want.
  • Gramm Leach Biley
this scene starts in 1999 when these three repubs authored a bill the allowed banks, investment firms, and insurance companies to work under one entity.
At the time, one senator predicted in ten years we would look back at this act with distaste because it "will cause massive taxpayer bailout for companies deemed too big to fail".

    WOW! That sounds familiar.

Sometimes gov't regulation is the answer ...

(passed by a republican congress and signed by a dem president - both parties are to blame here)
  • Fascism
We've been a fascist country since FDR. Fascism only became a bad word in the US when WWII started. Before the war, Mussolini was greatly admired -- especially in hall of government. So was Hitler. Roosevelt was an unabashed fascist. That's what all of those alphabet soup agencies were designed to do -- implement Mussolini's fascism in the US.
  • Crisis is their MO.
Whether it's health care, gun control, or the energy industry, they generate a crisis to stampede people into allowing or doing things without thinking them out. They know as soon as the details of their proposals become known support for them evaporates.
  • Turn on all of your lights in honor of Copyleft and Hugo's ghost during Earth Hour Tomorrow night at 8:30 PM
In honor of Copyleft and Hugo's ghost; we should all pledge to turn on all of our lights and appliances during that stupid “Earth Hour” tomorrow night, Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30 pm.

Those moronic DNC troll(s) should be proud of us.
  • FDIC and more
Yes, the FDIC insures the deposits so if the bank goes down, customers will not lose their money (up to $250K per customer)

And someone please tell Hugo's ghost that he can turn off the radio and not listen to Neal, this is until now) a free country!! seriously dude, you don't like it, turn it off... are you THAT dense??
  • Fascism
Treasury has expanded its control far in excess of where it has ever been. It now carries more power than has been allowed by the constitution and it wants more! Our Constitutional scholar in Chief and Treasury chief now want to completely destroy the constitutional restrictions that are in place. When will it be that they want to take any company over at their whim?
This is slowly & surely turning into a fascist basis. And before you know it, it will all be over and we will all be screwed. And yes copy if you look at the Miriam Webster Collegiate dictionary Fascism : private economic enterprise under centralized governmental control, belligerent nationalism, racism, and militarism, etc.
  • Copyleft, Hugo's Ghost, & Stan GayBull
How is that threesome working out for you?? I bet when the three of you are done with each other, you play Warcraft in your mommy's basement at age 40.
  • Copyleft
I'll tell you what it sound like, drooler. It sounds like you're sitting in your bedroom, at your mother's house, typing away on your computer with your ponytail, fat @ss, and goatee.
  • FDIC
I think the FDIC is to protect the peoples' money in case the bank goes under, Federal Deposit Insurance. That isn't to protect the bank from going under.
  • I finally figured out that your new format was that of a blog. So be it. That works better than just reading your rambling every day without means to comment. At least we can respond now and see a result. As opposed to Belinda just discarding our comments into a void.

Of course you are right Neal. But you knew that already. It's a power grab by the messianic one. Personally I am getting to like the new format here. Keep hammering them!
  • "We have a moment of opportunity here, and we don't want to waste this opportunity."

This is exactly what Obama has been saying. Not many have picked up on his real meaning.
  • Are Copyleft and Hugo's ghost the same DNC troll?
They both don't seem to have anything better to do than hang around here and spew their idiotic comments. And no one has ever seen them both at the same time and place.

I also would interject that IMHO, the leftists should really be labeled, Socialist-fascists, or Social-fascists. As in Socialist-fascist Dhimicraps or Social-fascist Dhimicraps.

    Used in a sentence:

The Socialist-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamamomadingo are trying to destroy this great country.

    or

The Social-fascist Dhimicraps like Obamamomadingo are trying to destroy this great country.
  • Hugo
You mean you and Copy? Cause the majority of "us", on this site anyway don't want Boortz going anywhere. So don't axe like "most" people are tired of him.

Why do lefties always act like they are talking for all America?
  • Stocks
My stocks are going up. Have you seen the market lately? Whatever he is doing has got to be right.
  • maybe its true...
...that liberalism is really just fascism with a smile.
  • Facism
    To Copyleft,
Obviously, you do not own a dictionary. There are several available on the internet. According to Wikipedia, which I am aware is not the most reliable source states: "Fascism is a radical, authoritarian nationalist ideology that aims to create a single-party state with a government led by a dictator who seeks national unity and development by requiring individuals to subordinate self-interest to the collective interest of the nation or race.
Fascist governments permanently forbid and suppress all criticism and opposition to the government and the fascist movement. [14] Fascist movements oppose any ideology or political system that gives direct political power to people (representative republic) as individuals through elected representatives rather than as a collective nation or race.; that is deemed detrimental to national identity and unity and class conflict oriented labor movements; that protects and empowers people deemed weak and degenerate and that undermine the military strength and military ambitions of the nation (pacifism). They also oppose traditionalists and conservatives who may seek to preserve any of the privileges, institutions and cultural values that fascism seeks to overthrow." It does not indicate that government is controlled by corporate interest. Although you may think that is what it is stating.
  • Copyleft Daffynition!!!
After having perused several of you "insightful" responses, I've arrived
at this conclusion. As far as your education is concerned; CAN YOU GET YOUR
    MONEY BACK???
  • Regulation
The chaos we have now was caused government intervention in the market. We haven't had free capitalism in this country for 60 years. The bureaucrats pass laws that bugger up the market and then when it doesn't work out, they blame those "greedy corporations".
  • Escape
I know you hate it when I bring this up, but when are you going to leave? When are you going to give up and just get the hell out? Because some of us are tired of listening to your whining.
  • Copyleft needs a new talking points coach
Because his/her (not sure) definition of fascism must come from the New Liberal Dictionary. Boortz's definition is mostly correct, for fascism is when the corporations and citizen-owned businesses are appropriated by government.

Think back to the true fascist regimes, like Italy and I think maybe you've heard of Nazi Germany (or maybe Nazi is a word that your dictionary tells you is somebody who votes for Bush).
Were Hitler and Mussolini being controlled by corporations? I don't think Nazi Germany was being run by Mercedes-Benz... Those were totalitarian dictatorships with control over all aspects of productive society.

But I can already see that you are waiting for a response to your comment and will throw up an 'indisputable' definition of your idea of fascism but hopefully most people who read the comments section will know from which faulty viewpoint it derives.
  • fascism
oh but fascism is on the right isnt it?? ISNT IT?? I find it amazing how the left has re-written history.. they use the word fascist at Bush.. but when a real fascist comes to town.. they fall in love with him..

the lunatics are running the asylum folks.
  • It sounds to me like FDIC for businesses
It sounds to me like their intent is to have a process in place by which the govt can step in and manage a failing business to reduce collateral damage. We already have a similar process in place with the FDIC, its been that way for nearly 80 years, and has worked well without being fascist. How would this be different? Banks are businesses too, aren't they?
  • Copy
Doesn't it bother you that other than maybe Hugo, no one here thinks you have an ounce of brain matter between your ears? How do you explain the sub-prime mortgage mess? What effect did that have on our economy? WHO and when voted it in? Why do you hang around here, do you just have nothing better to do than aggravate us? Or did you draw the short straw in your leaders assignments?
  • Copy "Moron" Left
Who types for you? It is obvious that you are not literate. Here is the definition of Fascism.
    "fas⋅cism [fash-iz-uhm] Show IPA
    –noun
    1. (sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism."
Learn to read and how to use a dictionary.
  • Why can't the leftist admit that they are Fascists?
For those who are new here, Copyleft is the resident leftist troll that's been assigned by the DNC to annoy everyone with various types of snide comments and stupid observations.

Pay no attention to his or her to it's moronic comments and just be saddened by the fact that such idiots exist in our society.
  • What will be next?
So, if the Treasury gets this new ability, who's to say they won't take over the car companies because they affect the economy? Or how about the "evil" oil companies? Or Google? Or Yahoo? This is EXACTLY why we HAVE a Constitution and a Supreme Court. Our Founding Fathers recognized that there would be people who tried to take over the system through power grabs like this. At 50 years old, this will be my first opportunity to see if those checks and balances can keep these guys from completely destroying our country.
  • copyleft
Are you COMPLETELY uneducated or did you just not finish kindergarten? My dad survived fascist concentration camps and they were run by people like YOU.
  • Still at it?
Still trying to make a case for deregulation and zero accountability for corporate malfeasance, eh Neal?

Well, good luck with that. Unfortunately, you've got a HUGE example of what chaos that causes staring the entire country in the face right now, so it'll be a tough sell.

By the way, your definition of "fascism" is a bit off. Fascism is when the _government_ is controlled by the _corporate_ interests, not the other way around. And what does that sound like? (snicker)
