No .. .I didn't watch the press conference. No ... I haven't read about it. There's a purpose behind this madness. Royal, you see, has selected some of the questions the press threw at PrezBO last night and separated them into audio files. I will play the role of the president on the show today and will respond to those questions as (a) I would if I were president, or (b) as Obama would if he were honest. Be tuned in .. this ought to be fun. If you missed it, we'll send it out in today's Boortz Blast newsletter. If you haven't subscribed yet, sign up here.

YouTube has the whole press conference up in case you missed it and actually want to watch. Here's the first part:

Also, our pal Jamie Dupree tuned in. Here is his analysis.

AS I UNDERSTAND IT ....

One of the themes of PrezBO's Presser was that all of the problems facing this country, not to mention mankind, will be solved with some sort of government-run healthcare system. No about of anecdotal evidence that government-run healthcare is a mess is going to do nothing to dissuade people who think that there is something out there called "free health care."

There is one big reason the left is pushing this government health care idea, and it has nothing to do with actually giving a damn about your health. It is about control These people want to control every possible aspect of your life. They know that when they control your health care they control you. Simple as that. Not simple enough, however, for the government educated dumb masses in this country to quite grasp it.

How about a quote from H.L. Mencken:

"The erroneous assumption is to the effort that the aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence .... Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues and other such montebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else."

Has a ring of truth to it, doesn't it? Making you a bit uncomfortable about sending your kids to a government school, isn't it?

... and the change you asked for and got is an executive branch that covets the power to seize private businesses when it sees fit. HTCWICOTTD* Tim Geithner wants Congress to recognize his regulatory powers to seize non-bank financial companies. And what is Barack Obama's response? I hope "it doesn't take too long" to convince Congress to approve this new authority.

This is an unprecedented amount of power being requested by the Obama administration. In fact, I wouldn't even say requested so much as demanded and expected. That government should have this level of power and influence in your lives, your businesses, your money, your property and your freedom. This is what Democrats have been wanting. And with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi by his side, Barack Obama and Tim Geithner may very well succeed.

Thanks for the change!

SOME GOOD NEWS FROM WASHINGTON

Well it isn't often lately that we highlight to good news coming out of Washington. And even today, we are gonna have to dig deep. But here it goes ....

Democrats in the House have decided that they will not include controversial global warming initiatives in Barack Obama's budget. You may remember that by including it in the budget, reconciliation would ensure that Senate Democrats could pass the budget (and therefore global warming legislation) with a simple majority vote. But poor Nancy Pelosi really has her thong in a wad about this one, but her Democrat minions won't let her have her precious global warming initiatives in the budget bill. Special budget procedures WILL however be used to remake the healthcare system.

Let's try this one on for size ... legislation to tax the AIG bonuses at a 90% rate have hit a wall. The bill passed by the House last week will be pulled from the Senate fast track as people put down their pitchforks and re-read a little document called the Constitution. So if and when the Senate takes up the issue of taxing bonuses or targeting executive pay, it will probably look a heck of a lot different than what Nancy Pelosi and Barney "Sylvester" Frank concocted last week. Just for the record, here are the names again of the 85 Republican Representatives who thought it would be a good idea to support the AIG bonus tax legislation. But there does seem to be one stubborn Democrat in the Senate: Harry Reid. He is still saying "To hell with the Constitution, full speed ahead to tyranny!"

And RINO Arlen Specter must really be in CYA mode right now. He knows that he has an election coming up in 2010, and he knows that there are a lot of Pennsylvanians that would rather see Daffy Duck as their Senator. So Specter has decided that he is going to oppose the union card check bill. If you'll remember, the Democrats only needed one Republican vote to get this legislation passed, and the pressure fell on Specter who indicated that he would support it. And he has decided not to.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE AIG BONUS BILL

Just in case Harry Reid gets his way and the AIG bonus bill comes up pretty quickly in the Senate, here is something to note. The House-version of the bill would lead to the loss of one million American jobs. That is according to a senior economist at JP Morgan.

Michael Feroli, an economist at JP Morgan, concluded that the restrictions of compensation for companies receiving TARP money would put them "at a severe competitive disadvantage for talent relative to foreign banks which have not received such funds." Gee, ya think?

GUNS AND GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

A state representative in from Chicago is in hot water for suggesting the idea that children should be educated about guns. She says, "Down state they teach you that guns are meant for hunting, for protection..here in the urban cities, all they see are guns on tv..and they gun down people." What's amusing is that the idea of gun education is included in a bill that would ban private handgun sales.

And you'll love this reaction from Father Moonbat Pflager of St. Sabina Church. He says, "That's like saying we might as well sell drugs legally..we don't want access to guns. We have children dying in this city. We're talking about teaching gets kids in grammar school how to shoot guns? That's crazy."

Lo There..2 things please,I listen to you, Rush (at times), Hannity, and Michael Savage...you all have one thing in common...your "ego" each one of you thinks you're better than the other, and don't care to mention anything positive about the other...I appreciate all of you except for your habit of interrupting people when they call and try to present their case..#2 I await the day when I turn you on and the first thing I hear is a loud slap followed by a loud crash...both stemming from Belinda knocking you and your foul mouth and sexual innuendos plumb across the studio..I don't care if she cusses like a sailor herself...she's still a lady and you should respect her as such ...sooo my friend..have a good day ya heah..Bj

(That's rich .. he signs his email "BJ" and nails me for sexual innuendos. By the way, that's the name of Italy's number one selling suppository --- in case you didn't know.)

Neal, do you ever read the comments left on your site? If you do, I can't believe that you're happy with the quality of right wing hate that you've generated. To read these, one would think that Bush had nothing to do with the circumstances this country finds itself in today, and that President Obama has caused every last hardship we are enduring. And, I'm just sure that most of the ones saying "Well, because you Liberals elected Obama, I'm not going to hire as many people, and none of them will be Democrats." Can't you just see the person that wrote that? Some person sitting at home (with no job) making up stories to make himself feel better than - oh I don't know - Anyone he can find, since he's such a loser. I would be ashamed of myself if I contributed to the hate and bashing that you do. You used to seem to have a conscience. Where did that go? Money is more important to you than principles and honesty, I guess. I feel sorry for you and your wife. I hope things get better for you. Again - this is from a graduate of private schools who completely disagrees with you.

Well ... Miss Patty. I've said this before: If Obama's tax increases on America's small businesses cause them to have to lay off people, it would only be right for the employees who voted for this disaster to be some of the first to go. What better way to teach people that actions have consequences. By the way ... how plebian of you to use the "right wing hate" nonsense. To leftists such as yourself any expression of conservative thought is, by definition, "hate." That's pretty weak, don't you think?

Hey, check it out. President Obama is going to have an online townhall where he'll answer some of the questions asked by you. Do you think we could vote a FairTax question up high enough to be asked?

The next big battle brewing in Congress is over Barack Obama's budget that will increase the deficit more than $1.4 trillion next year.

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says that Obama's budget will make the United States worse than Cuba.

The AIG battle continues .. turns out that there was another $53 million more in bonuses than was originally reported. More for the wealth-envy crowd to cry over.

This is comforting. A new report by the British government says that a nuclear or chemical attack on British soil is becoming increasingly more likely.

The Supreme Court will be deciding whether or not critical films of politicians like this "Hillary: The Movie" can be regulated during campaign season.

According to the latest Zogby polls, Barack Obama's approval ratings are dropping.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee unveiled an ad entitled, "Change We Can Believe In?"

So now the Obama administration says that it is going to EXPAND the program to train commercial airline pilots to carry guns and thwart terrorist attacks.

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is actually privatizing many government functions such as law enforcement.

A bill to help newspaper companies restructure as nonprofits was introduced into the Senate yesterday.

OwlGore will have a new book out this year called "Our Choice" and I'll give you one guess as to what it is about.....

People who ordered Smart Cars when gas was expensive are now refusing to take them.

In Connecticut, drunken people don't actually have to drive their cars to be charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the opening sentence of this story? "Three California families headed to a retreat for the ultrarich were among the 14 victims of a plane crash in Montana."

Just a little bit of pork set aside for a pig farm .. literally.

A council in Great Britain spent $44,000 on a spy plan that carries a thermal camera used to determine which houses are wasting too much energy.

Apparently in China you can no longer access YouTube. I suppose Communism and the controlling of information doesn't lend itself too well to websites like YouTube.

Barack Obama supposedly asked American Idol judge Simon Cowell if he wanted to do dinner .. but Simon was too busy. How absolutely fitting that Obama would want to nosh with the American Idol judge. "How am I doing?"

Today's strange story: wife handcuffs herself to husband and then bites him as he is on the phone with 911.
