"Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others."

Ayn Rand

Nobody's listening.

I am told that March Madness officially starts today. I couldn't care less, but since President Obama is too busy filling out his parlay care ... or is it the West Wing Pool, I am willing to be a humble replacement in the meantime. It's not like I have anything better to do. Apparently he doesn't either.

Now, on to more important things .......

Barney Frank has been a fierce defender of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac .. considering he was sleeping with a Freddie Mac executive when ...... well never mind. I don't want you to lose your breakfast. But he has also when one of the most outspoken (if that is what we can call that mumbo-jumbo coming out of Barney's mouth) critics of these AIG bonuses.

Guess what other companies are gearing up to dole out retention bonuses? Yep, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These are companies that are at the epicenter of our mortgage meltdown. The US Treasury has agreed to give Fannie and Freddie $200 billion a piece in exchange for preferred stock. In 2008, they lost a combined total of about $108 billion.

But wait, Fannie may is going to pay retention bonuses of as much as much $470,000 to $611,000 this year to some of its executives. Freddie is planning to do the same, but we don't yet have the details.

Now I don't know if Barney's ex is still working there ... I think not ... but if he were, you could bet your bottom sheckle that Barney would dummy up on this one.

FALLOUT FROM YESTERDAY'S HEARING

One of the most prominent phrases we heard in this AIG hearing yesterday was "give back." That phrase is such a mindless liberal talking point. You might have heard my discussion with a caller yesterday. I just hate this "give back" nonsense. I'm heavily involved in charitable giving. My wife has a 501C(3) charitable foundation. But I am NOT giving back. I'm giving. The money I give I earned. It was not given me. Therefore ... I am not giving it back. I'm convinced this whole "giving back" nonsense was created to cause people to subconsciously believe that whatever wealth a person might have was given them, not earned.

Did you happen to listen to those parts of the hearings yesterday where Slobbering Barney was demanding the names of the AIG employees who got the bonuses? These people committed no crimes .. yet here is the Imperial Federal Government demanding their names and sputtering about subpoenas. This is not only disgusting, it's chilling. You do something perfectly legal, and suddenly you have this politically powerful troll demanding your name.

Barney said that if AIG honcho Ed Liddy didn't turn over the names, he would ask his committee to vote to subpoena the names. Even though AIG employees are receiving death threats from the dumbmasses who couldn't tell their head from a hole in the ground .. Barney wants to make sure that we get those names!

But other members of Congress didn't seem to think this was a bad idea. Senator John Tester said, "Is there a downside? If they don't give the money back, they ought to have their names released." Senator Ben Cardin suggested that if the bonuses were not returned, the names should be given to the Justice Department and Eric Holder would decide if they should be released. Cardin said, "These bonuses have to be given back ... It's just unconscionable, and we can't allow that to happen. If necessary, we should take legislative action."

And let's not let this comment from Barack Obama go by the wayside. He said on the South Lawn yesterday, "People are rightly outraged about these particular bonuses ... But just as outrageous is the culture that these bonuses are a symptom of that have existed for far too long." Just what culture is PrezBO talking about? The culture of capitalism?

There was so much more.

Perhaps the hokiest statement came from Rep. Paul Hodes, a Democrat from New Hampshire. He said that AIG stands for "Arrogance. Incompetence. Greed." How cute.

But moving right along ... AIG CEO Edward Liddy did ask that some of these bonus recipients give at least half of the money back. Those receiving retention payments of $100,000 or more were asked to return at least half of those payments.

HOW OBAMA GETS THINGS DONE

Does Barack Obama really think that he can push all of his dreams and schemes through Congress? The answer is yes. And when it comes to government healthcare, global warming initiatives and increasing taxes, he wants to make sure that there is no way the Republicans can stop him. How is he going to do this? By including these policy provisions in the annual budget. Then they can use a parliamentary procedure called reconciliation. Basically what that means is that the Democrats wouldn't have to worry about gaining Republican support in the Senate .. because reconciliation reduces the number of votes needed to pass legislation to a simple majority (which the Democrats clearly have in the Senate). It also limits debate to no more than 20 hours and imposes restrictions on amendments. So we are talking about less than 20 hours on the floor of the Congress would be devoted to such grandiose plans as government healthcare and cap and trade schemes.

SINGLE MOTHERS

You've heard my rant before about single mothers. Now bear in mind we're not talking about widows or divorcees here ... we're talking about women who make the conscious decision to have a child without getting married. Ann Coulter did some magnificent research on the social impact of these single mothers. They are probably responsible for more crime and poverty in this country than any other identifiable group of people.

So I was so thrilled to hear that the number of single mothers in the United States is growing! In general, more babies were born in 2007 than any year in history. The good news is that this will make for more taxpayers who will one day shoulder the burden of our current spending spree in Washington. But the bad news is that many of those children will be raised on some form of welfare because they are being born to unwed mothers. Federal researchers reported that births to unwed mothers reached an all-time high of about 40%. More than three-quarters of these women were 20 or older .. which leaves the obvious statistic: about one quarter of the women are teenagers. Fertility researcher Philip Morgan of Duke University says that part of the reason may be that it is becoming more acceptable for women to have babies without a husband. I have a better reason .. it is becoming easier for women to be dependent on government. And we have the Democrats to thank for that.

The Fed has decided to pump another trillion dollars into the economy. Guess where that money is coming from? They are creating it out of thin air. Time to get out the WIN buttons.

Chris Dodd actually admitted that he was responsible for adding the bonus loophole into the stimulus package that permitted AIG and other companies that received bailout funds to pay bonuses. That's not all he's responsible for.

Will Obama's anger over these AIG bonuses end up backfiring on him? If the Republicans had their act together (which they don't), I'd say maybe that is a possibility.

Well that was fast .. Obama will not pursue a proposal that would have allowed the VA to charge private insurance companies for the treatment of veterans. He drove that wreck into the parking lot and it dented way too many fenders.

The Politico has a list of the 5 biggest myths about Obama. Damned racists.

I talked about this on the air yesterday .. but Democrats want to EXPAND the Community Reinvestment Act. Why are credit unions generally healthy today? Because the CRA didn't apply to them, that's why. Well ... let's change that.

The White House admits that its cap and trade scheme is going to cost three times the amount they originally cited. Try over a trillion dollars. Global warming - just an excuse for a grand new tax program.

And when it comes to healthcare, guess what? That is going to cost more than the White House planned as well. Try more than double what they were expecting.

Say what you will about George W. Bush, but he says he wants Barack Obama to succeed and that it's "essential" to support the new leader.

Remember yesterday when I told you about Barack Obama's teleprompter gaffe? What's interesting is that there doesn't seem to be any video of it on the Internet. Hmmm I wonder why that is.

Here's another news item that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy .. Russia has confirmed that it has a contract with Iran to sell powerful air-defense missiles.

Speaking of Russia. The Kremlin's idea for a global solution to this financial crisis is to establish an international currency.

Colorado wants to change the way the president is elected in its state. Please tell me they're going to restrict who can vote. Please. OH? They're not? I need to stop getting my hopes up like this.

Another issue we have to look forward to this summer .. immigration reform will be back at the top of the agenda.

Could we have yet another potential embarrassing cabinet nomination from Barack Obama? This time it is Commerce Secretary nominee Gary Locke.

This blubberbutt in Omaha is going to be reinstated as a police officer because the court believes he is still maintaining "at least a 'fair' level of physical wellness." You can be the judge.

Texas lawmakers are really worried about the important issues in this world .. like whether or not teenagers can use tanning beds.

A chaplain at a hospice in Boca Raton resigned because they banned him from using the words "God" or "Lord" in public settings. You have GOT to be kidding me.
