The "9/11 was an inside job" crowd better dust off the gear .. you are being called to duty. Democrat Senator Patrick Leahy (who also happens to be the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee) wants a US "truth commission" to investigate the Bush administration. Leahy says that he wants the commission as a way to heal the "sharp political divides under former President George W. Bush and to prevent further abuses." He wants this truth commission to be set up similar to the one in South Africa that conducted investigations during the apartheid era.

So far, this is just Patrick Leahy spewing rhetoric and getting the moonbats all hyped up. We'll see if anyone in the Obama administration or other members of Congress are interested in the charade.

What others are saying

  • Yeah...
Not a liberal, but I am a member of the truth movement. Actually, a huge chunk of that movement consists of non-liberals. At least refer to the right group of people here.

Looks like Leahy's still upset when VP Cheney told him to F#+* off...

I'm betting Chaney gives him a another one!

  • Why not
A pointless, expensive show on the national stage to keep the attention of the ever increasing stupid American people. Sounds like a great plan to me, if you're Obama and his like. Keep the American people focused on Bush and then you can quietly work in the background putting the nails in the coffin of this country that you (Obama and his like) so very much hate. Hell Bill Clinton did it and all he had to work with was getting blown in the oval office. Obama and company have 8 years of history (most of it lies or revised half truths) to keep people stuck on Bush.

As a Republican, I have no problem with Senator Leahy's recomendation. I think it is a great idea. My one small change would be to begin in 1992 and work forward. That would be bipartisan.
  • And you're surprised
Leahy is coming more unglued with every passing day.
  • Truth Commission
There was a post on the Daily Gut talking about the TV show Rescue Me reviving the conspiracy theorists. Since conspiracy theory is all Libs have to prove their 'points' they have to keep them alive. It's easy to stop watching 'Rescue Me' in protest, but what are we supposed to do when our tax dollars are supporting something like the Truth Commission? I feel so powerless right now.
  • 1984?
The Truth Commission. Awesome! Why didn't I think of that? Orwell warned us about such things.
  • TRUTH COMMISSION
If such a travesty comes to be, they had better be prepared to also investigate the congressional perps who allowed the Fannie/Freddie meltdowns after being warned!
Sorry for the No Comments today Neal, Truth Commission? Yeah, that's what we need, not a Commission on how the Imperial Federal Government is secrectly and ruthlessly enslaving every man woman and child into generations of Bondage by over taxation, or a Commission on what government Programs actually work, and which ones destroy Liberty! But, who really even knows what Liberty is these days?
  • Leahy's Commission
If I heard the reporter who cited it last night correctly it's the "Truth And Reconciliation" Commission. Sounds oddly familiar.
  • Let's Move on....
Where are the moveon.orgers now? Liberalism is truly a mental disorder. This moron wants a commission to look into Bush's acts regarding terrorism and Iraq. Last time I checked, we haven't had a terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11, and Iraq just held provincial elections and there are practically no deaths anymore to report which the NYTimes loved to do. So, what is the problem?? Seems like Bush did well here.

If you want a commission, how about holding a commission on the causes of this financial mess? Before we waste $1 trillion, how about finding the reasons why we are in this mess first?
  • Wow! A Ministry of Truth
    DoublePlusGood!
  • Truth Commission
Leahy is a @##$$%% idiot. If you look at the lateset information the Obama administration is pursuing the same policy of rendition as Bush they may be investigating their own. If Obama has the sense of a goat he will muzzle that moonbat before he finds a precident that will be used in a truth commision inventigating him as he leaves the office for lets say manipulating the 2010 census for starters!. Have Ben & Jerry Recall Leahy.
