A FOUR TRILLION DOLLAR FEDERAL BUDGET?

That's the word. Obama is going to introduce a $4,000,000,000,000 federal budget for consideration by his myrmidons in the Congress. How nice. Are you starting to understand that this narcissistic menace is just as dangerous as we told you he was going to be?

Yesterday, the Democrats in the House passed this $410 billion omnibus spending bill. Now it is on to the Senate. This is the same bill that has a $200,000 earmark for a "tattoo removal violence outreach program" in Los Angeles, California. This is your tax dollars paying for a tattoo removal machine to help gang members remove signs of their past. Yeah .. Ok.

As if it couldn't be any more asinine then funding tattoo removal for gang members, the Democrats managed to insert a provision into the bill that would end the school choice program in DC. As of right now, students in DC can use federal funds to attend private schools of their choice. But the Democrats don't want this because it puts the educational futures of students in the hands of parents and families .. not the government. So it is no surprise that the Democrats want to kill the program. One caveat though. DC Democrats do NOT want to end the program. They've seen it work. They know their constituents want the program to continue. Doesn't matter. Democrats need to make sure that our system of education continues to fail our children. If education works where in the hell do they find future Democrat voters? Democrats want to be seen as the heroes of education, but this will be done by throwing more money at the problem and making people more dependent on government.

THAT'S what Democrats call educational reform.

What others are saying

  • That's odd...
I don't recall this level of outcry and dismay when the word "trillion" was first tossed around with regard to Iraq.

But when the notion comes up to actually spend something on AMERICA, rather than a wasted war effort overseas...!
  • Bipartisanship?
Yesterday I heard on the radio that PRESIDENT Obama's budget proposal had a title and that it was something like "Inheriting a Legacy of Misplaced Priorities" or something like that. I think it was on a WSJ report. I searched for this on the internet, but the closest thing I could find was here; http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123569645499188821.html

It talks about a letter that accompanied the budget that has some "blistering criticism of past government and business practices". "After the president's letter, the document continues with forceful attacks on "a legacy of misplaced priorities...and irresponsible policy choices in Washington." It addresses head-on what it calls a "growing imbalance of accumulating wealth and closing doors to the middle class."

    How's that for bipartisanship?
  • Tattoo Removal
The people getting tattoos removed are ex-gangsters who want to live non-criminal lives. It's money well spent.
  • To Trey
The number has been changed since early this morning (when it did have three too many zeros).
  • Money
FYI, If you stacked a trillion $1 bills on top of each other, you'd form a stack that reached a quarter of the way to the moon so Obama has figured another way to reach the moon.
  • Quadrillion
For those that like to say Neal's figure is Quadrillion, please count again.
    4,
    000, - Billions
    000, - Millions
    000, - Thousands
    000 - Hundreds

    Let's keep this straight...
  • Tattoo removal, from local to federal
I lived in Santa Monica for two hellish years. Shortly before I left, I found out about two taxpayer funded projects going on. These were local-level projects paid for by the citizens of Los Angeles county.

    1. A gay-only retirement home.
    2. Tattoo removal for ex convicts.

So now not only do taxpayers in LA have to pay for "fixing" stupid peoples' choices, we ALL do.

And I thought I got away from that ridiculous nonsense...
  • Obama calls to cure cancer?
Stan what plane of reality are you living on? First, calling for a cure does not find one. Second, there is already enormous funding towards curing cancer that has included federal funding. If you want action instead of words, look at the successful programs under the Bush administration in Africa that have reduced AIDS, malaria, and other illnesses.
  • No, Stan, you're wrong again
What about your president Obama and his Afghanistan escalation? Isn't Afghanistan an Arab terrorist nation?

Oh, and in case you missed it on the news Stan, we won the war in Iraq. I'm not sure they broadcast that kind of news on MSNBC, so I'll forgive you on that one.

And can you tell us what, specific scientific "earmark" spending programs you are referring to? I can't wait to see what you can come up with.
  • Both GA Senators
Obama called for the cure for cancer. That is more than any president has ever done and the fact he wants to spend money on science and health rather than arab terrorist nations means that republicans should be liking this.
  • Let's not leave out Saxby Shameless
This may be a GA only comment, but the Republican Senator from GA, Saxby Chambliss got his earmark in for Blueberry's.

Maybe he forgot that the people who voted for him in the run-off did so because we wanted a true republican. It looks like its the SOSDD for him. Maybe he should add RINO to his business card!

Good luck next time around Saxby!
  • Budget Plan?
King Borack, says he is going to cut the deficit. OK. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I thought he just was not that intellegent when it comes to basic economics. You know the liberal/marxist types..educated BEYOND their intellgence level..anyway, He proved me wrong. HE does know basic economics and he d*mn sure knows what he is doing now. He is purposefully destroying the greatest country in recorded history. He thinks he and the rest of the communists/socialist/marxists in congress, are smarter than any other communist/socialist/marxist in history and THEY can make it work. That is a level of arragance that normal people can not comprehend. Those ideas go AGAINST human nature.
Love ya long time High Priest.
  • What got us here?
Isn't spending money we didn't have, nor could ever pay back, what got us in this mess? Does it make sense to do more of the same?

WSJ has an article (The 2% Illusion) that uses 2006 tax numbers (a good economic year) and states that even if you took 100% of the money earned by everyone with over $75,000 AGI, leaving nothing for the individual wage earner, it would barely cover the $4Trillion budget!

  • Extreme budget - high taxes are coming.
This massive 4 trillion budget works out to approximately $11000 for each man, woman, and child in this country. And we hear about yet another $750 billion bailout (i.e gift) to be thrown into the banking black hole. That is so much money that every single loan, credit card balance, and mortgage in the country could have been paid off. And all we will see for our taxpayer gift to the banks are higher banking fees.

In the late 1990s many Canadians moved to America to escape the high levels of taxation in Canada. Soon, I predict many Americans will have to move up to Canada to escape the high levels of taxation that will become a reality. Somehow we all need to pay for these "extreme" budgets.
  • Who's paying your share?
Let's figure out each individual's share of that 4 trillion. Using round numbers let's assume there are 300 million citizens in the US.

    4,000,000,000,000 / 300,000,000

Thats $13,333.33 per person for their share of the cost.

A family of four's share would be $53,333.33.

My family pays that much taxes.

If you aren't paying that much in Federal Taxes then who is paying your share?
  • Do you want to do something about it?
If you want to do something about it come down to the Capital on Friday at noon for a protest! Here's the invite:

  • 4 Trillion
Your numeral shows 4 quadrillion; you need to remove three zeros. I could make an Aggie joke here, but ...
  • a $4Trillon Budget
Hey folks, how much is the GDP of the US? There is no way we can pay for this garbage.. Unless, we print money or borrow it from future generations. Knowing that this will kill the US economy as we know it, it looks like I may have to move to actually find economic oportunity(capitalism)outside of the US
  • That's $4 quadrillion.. We're not quite there yet, give it a few years.
  • Too many zeros?
Definitely see the point. That's ALOT of zeros. However, I think it may be 3 too many...

    4(trillion),000(billion),000(million),000(thousand),000(hundred)
  • Educational reform, indeed
"That's the word. Obama is going to introduce a $4,000,000,000,000,000 federal budget for consideration by his myrmidons in the Congress. How nice. Are you starting to understand that this narcissistic menace is just as dangerous as we told you he was going to be?"

That would be 4 quadrillion dollars. $4 trillion would be $4,000,000,000,000.
  • Is anyone surprised?
That everything started going to hell in a hand basket after the Pelosicrats won the election in 2006? That these mindless left wing liberal Stalinist Dhimmicrats no longer are concerned about spending and the deficit?

Oh, and for anyone who cares, the forum liberal pos blog troll, "Copyleft" was/is a regular troll over on Jim Wooten's AJC.com blog (maybe under another alias). The little bedwetter regularly got his @ss handed to him/her by facts, logic, and common sense. Enjoy the show of mindlessless!
