No where in the Constitution does it require the Oath to be sworn on the Bible. LBJ was sworn in on a Hymnal because there was not a Bible available on AF1.
No where in the Constitution does it require the oath-taker to say "So help me God" at the end of the Oath. This was something tacked on in the 20th century and has become tradition.
