THE BOORTZ CAVEAT

While listening to The Neal Boortz show or reading Nealz Nuze there is a strong likelihood that you will hear or read material that is critical of Barack Obama or the liberal agenda.  In keeping with the dictates of political correctness it is hereby acknowledged that any critical comments by Neal Boortz, a white guy, of Barack Obama, a black guy; or any comments critical of the Democrat agenda, is, by default, hate speech.

Read the following paragraph. Not one word is spelled correctly .. but see how easy it is to read anyway:

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulacity uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervery lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig, huh?

There ... actually there were some words spelled correctly, but Belinda couldn't pick them out.

I am an English major and I had a class where a student brought something like this to class with citations from a study that said the human brain is capable of understanding words, even if misspelled and no matter how mixed up the middle letters, as long as the first and last letters are correct. Kind of ueselss I konw but inertetinsg awanyay.

    So explain dyslexia to me???

I thought it was hate mail too!
  • Gradiate of public schools
Boortz, what are you talking about? I couldn't find any mispelled words...
  • Amazing Spelling
Wee uf tha USSA skool uf spelun' an gramor r not ammused
  • Schooling
The funny thing is, so many people immediately take to bashing public schools without the slightest clue. It's not the public schools that fail, it's the students and the parents. If you take somebody that came out of a public school without being educated, and put them through a private school instead, the same end result would occur. It has to do with the motivation of the individual.

This explains the completely un-acknowledged fact that tons of students go to public schools, and then move on to universities, earn degrees, and move into jobs that require substantial brainpower.
  • Hurf Durf
It's so hilarious seeing all the people bashing public schools and Obama in a completely and totally unrelated article that's just about an interesting (if very old) study on the function of the human brain.

I remember the good old days when the Nuze was a place for interesting reads on diverse topics, and not just a dump for all the conservobots that have hit their post limits on their favorite forums.

There is an assumption that needs to added. "You can already read and write the english language". Try this with a government school senior class. All bets are off then.
  • Spelling
You almost had me! At first glance, I saw a bunch of mispelled words, and automatically concluded that it was just another piece of Boortz hate mail.
  • Ouch
okay,,, now I have a headache from reading that. Where's my Barack Obama nanny state health care to cure me of all my ills!!!
  • Belinda's spelling
That explains why you can understand Belinda's spelling. LOL

My degrees are in MATH. Of course I can't spell. Of course my grammar and composition skills stink. I had to take foreign language in college too. That didn't work well either! I can reason better than most of my friends who can spell and use grammar.

However, that does not mean that I don't try to IMPROVE my spelling and grammar. Besides, lets see how many of those perfect spellers can do calculus (which is easy).

It says a lot about our educational system when a person can get a four year degree and only knows how to spell a word one way.
  • Spelling
This was written by a pure genius. Probably another Obama voter.
  • Good timewaster!
The words of three letters or less must be spelled correctly due to the requirement that the first and last letter be correctly placed.
  • spelling
Actually, it looks more like the text from this blog. Love ya, Neal- but while you are calling others public school educated idiots, the ongoing spelling errors on these very pages make your accusations a bit hypocritical.
  • Clearly
Clearly this was written by an Obama voter and someone at the University decided it was a neat experiment.
  • Gov schools are to blame
It just proves that the gov schools teach you only to look at the whole picture and not the details. That is how they dupe so many, hide the details.

  • Darwin in action
Our brains are evolving so we can continue communicating by print following decades of government education.
  • Oh, fiddlesticks
Reading that mess gave me a headache ... yes, I understood it, but it wasn't easy ...

Yet another argument for my kids to hate spelling! ;-)
