OBAMA TAKES A SHOT AT TALK RADIO

OK .. so it was actually a shot at the Godfather, but we're all in the crosshairs. And no, I'm not at all outraged by this. It's great! Who knows how many new listeners are listening to talk radio today trying to see just what it is that PrezBo is so upset about.

On Friday, Barack Obama had some sound advice for Congressional Republicans ... stop listening to talk radio. Well to be more specific, stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. Obama said, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." A White House official says that Obama meant that "there are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats ... We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."

Translation: We have the Republicans right where we want them. They're kowtowing to Barack Obama and giving up pretty much everything we want without much of a fight. We don't need them listening to anyone that could possibly cause them to see the light."

Yes, but when one party wants to spend billions of dollars on their party platform in the name of "economic stimulus" .. somebody has to talk about it. And when one party wants the government to be in charge of your healthcare, someone has to say something. And when one party supports the unionization by intimidation, someone has to say something.

Are you getting my point, folks? The reason why Barack Obama doesn't want people listening to talk radio is because it is a major speed bump in the way of his massive government spending and national socialist schemes. Talk radio is really the only form of media that is willing to challenge Barack Obama .. somehow we just don't seem to get tingles up its leg every time he speaks. Talk radio is willing to ask the tough questions. And now, more than ever, is the time for tough questions.

What others are saying

  • Rush and Hannity the Kool-Aid drinkers
Rush & Hannity and their die hard fans are the kool-aid drinkers. You only have to listen 5 minutes; One-trick ponies. Neal and Bill O'Reilly are the only 2 I can listen to these days to be reassured some independent thinking still exists. Don't lose that, Neal!
  • Don't listen to talk radio?
I thought we live in free country where we have free speech to express our views
How can we stand by and be told by president Obama not to listen to talk radio. I will not stop. I get more useful and truthful information from talk radio than any other news source except Fox T.V. I pray that Neil Boortz, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Herman Cain, Ann Coulter, and others, continue their patriotic cause to keep americans informed on the issues that they are trying to hide from us.
  • Personal attacks
I find it truly amazing how many liberals went directly to the personal attacks, rather than evidence that what Rush said was wrong, just call him names, and it makes them feel better.
  • Rush Limbaugh
Why does anyone take advice on family values from a thrice divorced man?

Why do people worship a convicted drug addict and doctor shopper?

Why do people take their political advice from someone who never even registered to vote until they were nearly 40 years old?

Rush has the right to say anything he wishes. But the RIGHT had better listen up. Sitting and spinning the truth to suit yourself and tear down this country is not in the best interests for the USA. We need solutions, not radio wave pollution. Get on board. This train is leaving the station...with or without you. We have a country to fix. And Barack Obama has already punched in on the clock.
  • Rush Limbaugh
Listening to Rush Limbaugh reminds me of the Ad in the 70's with a guy in a dark room listening to Radio Free Europe and Voice of America on shortwave radio in Poland, Hungary or Czechoslovakia behind the Iron Curtain.
  • Rush be Rush
I think it's funny and pathetic that Obama focused his wrath on Rush and not the Minority Leader or even the RNC Chair. First, Conservatives are able to think for themselves. Something Liberals...I mean 'Progressives' can't seem to do. We don't need 'talking points' from the RNC or from talk show hosts. That's one of the differences between the two sides. We are informed and educated on the things that matter. Don't need the Cliffs Notes version. American Idol is the show we're missing because we're reading or watching something that doesn't include Chris Matthews and Kieth Olbermann gushing like schoolgirls over Obama. Rush is an entertainer above all else. Second point, the President is making a big mistake by stoking the ire of Conservatives. We get it, we know your party won. That's a temporary setback, but one which will no doubt cost the country. We should listen to Rush on some of these issues because dissent is by the Democrats definition, patriotic. The blade cuts both ways, Mr. Obama. And Mr. Double Standard, this is the Adult Table, you'll have to come with better game to sit here. Thta's all for now. Keep drinking your Kool aid Double Standard. Folks like you will make it easier to take back the Congress and then the White House. Ducks in a row...ducks in a row!
  • Talk Radio Host
The "Office of The President" should be above commenting on some "talk radio" personality. Another indication of Obama's inexperience and over his head as POTUS.
  • You're correct
Let us not attack Rush for being a junkie. Let's attack him for being a draft dodger with a pimple on his butt

    Charlie Scott
    USN 1971 - 1975
  • talk radio
Maybe all of you talk radio hosts could somehow get together and create an off-shore station (it would have to be AM) and blast all of your shows in with about 150,000 watts. I'm thinking maybe from the Bahamas.
  • Double Double Standards
"Why anyone takes an admitted drug abuser seriously on political opinion is beyond me."

    Gee Double Standards,
I guess you don't take anyting that Barak Obama (an admitted drug abuser) seriously?
  • Double-Standards
You have got to be kidding me. That's your argument? I have prided myself on never using an illegal substance ONCE in my life, and for not letting myself become addicted to anything. But after a painful surgery I had a few years ago, I damned near got hooked on Vicodin. I can understand how Limbaugh or any average, well-intentioned American can get addicted to a pain medication. So what is your argument in defense of Obama's admitted cocaine use (or continuing tobacco use, for that matter)? And how is it any better that he is now the Chief Executive of our country, and not some 'irrelevant' pundit in Radio-land? The silence to you answer will be deafening, I'm sure.
  • Rush vs Obama
Is this the opening shot for the campaign to resurrect the Fairness Doctrine?
  • pathetic attacks on Limbaugh
I love how these morons can only attack Rush on his pill addiction. Notice none of them actually challenge any of Rush's ideals or statements. It is because they simply aren't up to it. They also seem to forget that their beloved knight in shining armor has admitted to drug use. The difference is that people like Rush and Boortz don't attack P-BO on this...This is because they are logical thinkers; they don't get emotional or vindictive.
  • P-BO rallies his troops- Chicago style
Yes, Barack Obama has brought with him the same tactics he utilized on the campaign trail. He has called the names Hannity and Limbaugh to rally his troops as a personal device. Just as BO played the race card with his statements of:, "they will say he's black; hangs out with radical friends; he's Muslim," etc. to incite protection by challenging the opposition on racial bias; he is now rallying the electorate by defining the new enemy to the 'progress and healing' of America. When challenged, P-BO simply runs for the nearest cover he so aptly learned in Chicago. The Office of the President may soon come to be known by it's lack of dignity rather than the new confidence P-BO and his ranks so loudly proclaim.
  • not true, Boortz
Obama didn't take a shot at talk radio any more than he took one at all irrelevant, hypocritical drug addicts who don't vote and make fun of minorities when they drown.

btw, does everyone else have to enter the security code twice?
  • Re: Our president is 12 years old
    > How sophomoric and juvenile to
    > single out an american citizen to
    > criticize for their political
    > viewpiont.

This isn't the first time; remember Joe the Plumber and that reporter in Orlando who actually gave Obama a tough interview?
  • Words...Just Words...
I guess when PEBO said these words, they were just words that others had to live by NOT him..."To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history". I guess he can do whatever he wants to because none of what he says apply's to him.
  • Chills Up MyLeg
I get chills up my spine when I consider this monster pork bill
  • Rush Pillbaugh
Why anyone takes an admitted drug abuser seriously on political opinion is beyond me. I guess the calibur of right-wing talk radio is such that even pillfiends are seen as valid political experts.
  • Hey Rush..
Just knowing that you lack what is needed to comprehend may explain why you didn't pick up on what Limbaugh really said about "fail".

If P-Bo's desire is to have a socialist America, Limbaugh wished he would fail in that sense.

But since you voted for P-Bo we don't expect you to understand so we'll let it slide this time.... and the next...
  • Grow a pair, GOP
If Republicans want a chance at regaining seats in two years, they should listen to Rush. If they want to stay in the minority for forty years, they should listen to Obama. Remember, Obama is from the Chicago machine. He was one of the most liberal members during his brief stay in the Senate. He has a democrat voting majority in congress. So he's not going to try and help Republicans!
  • Arrogance
This ticked me off so bad I emailed the White House (I'm sure they trashed it) and asked them if they had ever heard of "trust but verify". That we were wishing PBO and more importantly America good luck but that we would be watching. And we certainly were NOT going to depend only on liberal news sources.

Either trashed my message or I'll find myself on a list somewhere....
  • Pills
I think it is ok to listen to Rush if you need advice on what unnecessary pills to take
  • BHO's moniker
Shouldn't it be P-Bo? Sorta like Diddy since BHO is our first rap star president?

    P-Bo, P.Bo, P~Bo . . . however you want to write it.
  • Rush
Hey, Limbaugh is on record saying he wants Obama to fail. I'd tell the Republicans to quit listening too if they want stay relevant in Washington.
  • Rush represents the base
And PeBo knows this. If the Republicans started actually listening to Rush and his callers, Democrats would be getting away with half of what they have done so far.
If Republicans started listening to you, Neal, the Democrats would be in serious trouble!
  • Our president is 12 years old
How sophomoric and juvenile to single out an american citizen to criticize for their political viewpiont. No wonder Hugo Chavez is a fan of PEBO.
  • DFP of America
More evidence of the move by the Democrat party to become more Fascist. Sound like an idle pejorative? Go find a good definition of fascist. Don't take my word for it, this is the renewed direction of the Democratic Fascist Party of America
  • Talk Radio
The left has control of the visual media, eg movie-TV-newspaper. Now if they can rid us of that pesky talk radio {conservative, that is} then they will control it all.......
  • Good
Good! Glad to see the Chosen One is getting rattled. Shades of Clinton, when he went off on talk radio. Means the message is getting through. Sorry he didn't mention you by name though, Neal.
  • Talk Radio & Rush Liimbaugh
You know, I haven't listened to Rush in ages, too busy working when he is on. BUT. Now I will make sure I turn on the radio for Rush, just because PrezBO says I can't.
  • Limbaugh
Limbaugh loves all the free advertising he has been receiving since last week. I personally find Limbaugh rather boring compared to Boortz.
