If Nancy Pelosi had it her way .. we would increase taxes on the evil rich and give welfare checks to the parasite class. What is scary folks is the distinct possibility of Nancy actually making that happen. Ok, so Nancy agrees with Obama's plans for a so-called "tax cut" (welfare) included in his economic stimulus plan. But on top of that, Nancy is "urging" Obama to repeal the Bush tax cuts immediately. Don't let them expire in 2010, do it now. And remember, repealing the Bush tax cuts is just the Democrat way of saying "increase taxes on the evil rich." It's a way for them to pander to the wealth envy crowd. Joining in the hatred of high-achievers has always been a winner for the left.

    don phillips is right. the bush tax cuts were bottom loaded so the people at the lower end of the income scale got larger percentage cuts than those at the top. for me ending the bush tax cuts will mean an increase in my taxes of about $1500/year...or $30/week...or$6.00/day....$6.00/day ispaying for my kids school lunches(full price)+ my wifes lunch...so how is taking my wife and kids lunch money away suppose to help me out??

    The Bush tax cuts helps keep and provide new jobs. The fact that Obama stated that he will postphone repealing the Bush tax cuts is an admission of one thing. That tax cuts for the "evil rich" does do just that ... work! Now Nancy Pelosi wants to repeal these tax cuts immeadiately. So what the hell is her goal? Socialism?

  • WHERE IS THAT LINE?
    Just where is that line where high achievers will be taxed to the point where they say, "F*ck it! I quit ... I'm putting all these people in the street and letting the government look after them. I'm not doing all this work just to give the government 40%-75% of my money. Yep ... I heard some Democrat head on O'Reilly actually say with a straight face that people that made upwards of 2 million a year should pay 75%. I wish I could remember who it was, but I do remember O'Reilly almost falling out of his chair. I guess Nancy Pelosi hasn't seen enough businesses go under yet. She has to know that this country's businesses can't afford to take a hit now! I believe she is doing this on purpose. Boortz is right. She really is an anti-capitalist.

  • Bad Ideas.
    It seems to me that at some point either decision may lead to revolt. If you stop giving to those which don't earn, they revolt. If you keep taking from those which do earn, they revolt. I can't stop thinking that we fought a war against the Imperial British government for much less than what's taking place in this country today. When does it end? When will we stand up and stop the theft from hard working Americans? We'd better do it soon. The opposition is growing rapidly.

  • Simple Math
    Pelois, Obama, and the rest of the congressional representatives only have to do a few things to see how ending the child tax credits will impact the economy. The IRS should be able to easily produce this information.
    Add up all of the children (17 and under) of adults who make $110,000K jointly ($55K separately). Multiply this number by $1,000 and that's how much money will immediately be removed from consumer spending. What are we talking about $500 million, or more? A big impact to the economy!!

  • Repealing the Bush Tax Cuts
    I am considered "middle-class" and have definately noticed how much my tax burden has decreased under the Bush Tax cuts. I think many earners in America have bought the line that those tax cuts were only for the rich - and haven't noticed how it has also helped them. If the Bush Tax Cuts are repealed or if they expire, everyone will instantly have a tax hike, not just the rich. And then Obama's going to give me back $1,000 as a tax cut? Not anywhere close to the tax cuts I have received over the past 5 years.

    Repealing the Bush tax cuts would hurt ALL taxpayers and not just the evil rich. A lot of folks would have to start paying taxes again and it would suck a ton of money out of the economy. Not a good idea.

  • Let's Eliminate ALL the tax breaks ...
    Don't just stop at the top, continue ALL the way down. Get ALL them "rich" folks (the ones that are paying taxes now) and EXTEND that benefit ALL the way down. No earned income tax credit, go for it, Nancy. Make sure all of us decide to live off the gummint teat.

    Obama has stated that due to the current crisis, he's considering postponing the "sunset" on the "evil rich" tax breaks, in other words, extending them. That darn radical liberal!

    Now wouldn't the majority of the morons in gov't be considered wealthy or do they do a better job of hiding it? Here's an idea, why don't they put together a survey for our gov't elite like the one in Fayette County with the teachers. Decline their I believe 2.5% cost of living raise to keep their job. I think it's a great idea!! Force them to get a real job.
