While listening to The Neal Boortz show or reading Nealz Nuze there is a strong likelihood that you will hear or read material that is critical of Barack Obama or the liberal agenda. In keeping with the dictates of political correctness it is hereby acknowledged that any critical comments by Neal Boortz, a white guy, of Barack Obama, a black guy; or any comments critical of the Democrat agenda, is, by default, hate speech.
Well, as long as I'm blowing it out of my ... er ...um ... ears today - let's talk about that tired old race war lord Joseph Lowery. If there was anyone on the program yesterday that we could absolutely, positively depend on to play the part of the weird old race pimp, it would be Lowery; and what's more, he chose a prayer to toss his racial comments around.
A lot of conservative bloggers and pundits are up in arms over Lowery's benediction, "Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'..."
Yeah .. those evil white bastards. We just have to get a little pointed remark into these proceedings somehow. We'll just ask the Almighty to make those white folks act right now that Obama is the president.
I've been aware of Rev. Lowery for decades. Without a racial grievance this man simply ceases to exist. Anyone who didn't expect him to get just a bit of a slam against the evil white man yesterday just wasn't aware of his history.

What others are saying
Lowery
Has he ever had a Job?
Rev. Lowery
I had been rasied in the South by parents and Grandparents who detested mistreatment of anybody based on skincolor, religion, any reason. I remember forced bussing in Virginia in 65. I remember Martin Luther King and Muhammed Ali making their own statements their own ways. I am truly disappointed to hear men like Reverand Lowery and John Lewis repeatedly dredge up images of the past and try to cut and paste them into the present. This country has made strides. Only a liar and a bigot would deny that. Is everything perfect for everyone? No. Is it ever going to be? Probably not. But most things have moved on, some people have not. Let it go! In a perfect world, Jessee Jackson, Spike Lee, and Kanye West are celebrating progress instead of denigrating their neighbors and fellow countrymen.
When Obama spoke at Georgia Tech last year Lowery gave the exact same prayer except that he said "and white, is allright." Too bad he decided to make a divisive rewrite, it all sounded so good before.
Joe's "prayer"
Two things I have always said and stand by:
a) On the whole, the black race in this country are their own worst enemy. Their actions and behaviors do nothing but perpetutate the stereotypes and further feed/indoctrinate the next generation. And in many instances the behaviors/actions are exacerbated almost to the extent of an out-of-control nuclear reaction.
b) Until there is no more money to be made off of white vs. black, the "racial" issue in this country will never cease. Too many people in this country make a (very good) living over perpetuating "racism".
Get in back?
How under any interpretation is President Obama getting in back of anything? If ever there was an example of going to the head of the line, it is him. Is this guy living in 1952 or something?
Lowery's Prayer..
I could not believe what I was hearing when old man Lowery spewed his hatred and venom. His prayer (?) was so 60's material. Too bad the Rev.(?) could not have used his 5 minutes to a more positive and powerful prayer. I, too, agree with a previous poster that the playing field is now even. There is no further reason for the NAACP or any other so called civil rights group to be in existence. It is truly a new day. May the likes of Lowery be called for what they are. Perhaps, the new administration could be the first to call old man Lowery what he is? If it happens then I will be more than happy to get on the bandwagon of the new administration. If not, let it be four short years!
Joe had the final word
What did anyone expect? If it was entirely up to the big O the benediction would have been given by rev.Wright.
when whites do what's right
I'm flabbergasted....when WHITES do the right thing? I have to assume Rev. Racepimp means do the right thing by blacks. I have a bigger and more important question for Rev. Racepimp. When are blacks going to do right by each other? When are they going to stop car-jacking, murdering, robbing, beating and otherwise mistreating each other? If it is all about race, when are blacks going to set the example for the evil whites by treating each other with respect and dignity?
Joe Lowery
I am sorry to see the mainstream media's lack of reaction to this old huckster.
Nice Speech
Jesse Jackson couldn't have rhymed it better.....
Not so bad......considering
I understand there was a last minute change in the wording of Rev. Lo's "bendiction". The part where he says; "and when white will embrace what is right" was ORIGINALLY, "and when crackers will be civil rights backers". Someone from the Obama Team suggested he reword it.
Q. How can you tell a race pimp? A. Every other sentence rhymes
Lowery
So much for the post-racial presidency. I thought that Lowery's comments ruined an otherwise fine inauguration. Maybe I'm just an uppity white boy, but now that we have a black man as president, can't we start labeling people like Lowery what they truly are - racists.
NAACP
When will the NAACP go away? Now that a "Colored Person" (that's what the CP stands for) is POTUS, how much more Advancement can there be? IMHO, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored Persons has advanced a colored person to the highest office in the nation. Task complete. Go away.
"Rev." Old Joe
C'mon, did you expect anything else? Joe is 88 years old and has never moved forward (except financially), as he'd then have nothing to talk about. I commend him for doing work that needed to be done, but condemn him for still believing that we have not moved forward.
Joe, the end is probably near.
the whoel stinking mess
I thought the whole load of it - the prayer, the sophomoric "poem", the entertainment and the taunting of Bush was a disgrace. This country, what's left of it, has lost all dignity and class. God help us! (Oooopss... forgot I'm not suppose to bring "God" into a public forum).
Can't Believe He Got a Pass
When I heard Joseph Lowery's "prayer" yesterday, I could not believe my ears. Afterwards, I scanned every news channel and major website, thinking I would hear something about his racist comments. To my suprise, I did not see one story on it until I read Nealz Nuze this morning. I guess there isn't a single journalist out there who was appauled by his remarks. Maybe some were offended, but perhaps they chose not to report on it so as not to rain on President Obama's Parade. Another example of media bias?
I was immediately offended...
...and I am not easily offended; I usually don't give a rip what people say (esp. goofball politicans, pundits, and bloviators). However Lowery's comments were just too much.
The implications of his remarks were: blacks are still told to get in back, brown folks (whoever that refers to) are not allowed to live here, American Indians can not be successful in this nation, and that white people only do and accept what is wrong.
But no one batted an eye. In fact many in the audience chuckled. Despicable.
rules
that is the rule portscanner! especially if you are living in Georgia right now. there is a water shortage. if you don't do this and you live in Georgia you should go look at Lake Hartwell.
I feel like this event puts a spotlight on our differences, instead of uniting us. We had a "Reverend" race baiting from the podium, a performer spewing the n-word at an inaugural function, and people showing such blatant disprespect for the former President. I don't want to be a part of that America at all.
JoJo Lowery
Lowery and the NAACP are so out of touch with reality. The man could barely get his words out of his tired old mouth yesterday. Hey Joe, I hope you read this. I wish you would get lost and crawl back to the hole from whence you came. You were an embarrassment not only to yourself but to America yesterday as well. And if you think for one minute that your "prayer" was reverent enough for the Almighty, think again.
WTF?
When I heard that yesterday I slammed my hand down on the center console of my buick and asked "WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT?" I was hoping this was some quote from Dr. King and the civil rights movement and I was just too young to get it, but I was genuinely pissed off by that comment! Can I contact the News and bit**, whine, and complain until I get an apology for my grievance? Or, should I be a good white guy and keep my mouth shut?
Rev Joe
Will never let us go forward, as long as he is still thinking backward, same for the mckinneys, brooks, jacksons, sharptons , etc.......
Same Thing
Black on white racism gets a pass but it is just as bed as white on black. I just see this all as a short term gain, now that all of the jokers are out of the asylum most marginally interested American voters that chose this will realize the horrible choice they made and are already repenting.
LOLOL.......
THIS is just the beginning!!........
Remember one thing, people.....this was NOT a presidential election.............this was a 'movement'..........a movement of blacks that wanted on top....for 'what reasons', I DO know...but expressing it would label me a racist, bigot and evil....
As you, the White person, goes into the voting booth and mark your name in BIG BOLD LETTERS for the One........you are doing for a reason that is your right as an American citizen.....whether you hate George Bush, whether you participate in self-pity-ness.....whether you feel your guilty over a sin that you havent committed.....or whether you wanted to show everyone around you that you voted for a black man.......so they can see you as one of the 'ggod ones' in the evil and hated race, White.....
The blacks done it for one reason.......hes black....NOTHING else mattered....
and NOW that obama is in.....youre going to see just how much you STILL dont matter...
Youre a hurdle in their path...and they will not have their toes stumped with an unoriginal as you....
Lowery is the beginning of the onslaught that is coming like a freight train....
by this summer....your days will be taken up by news stories of the Whites STILL oppressing others that arent White.....
LOL.....you 'think' you stubbed the racial shit out of America.......by what??....making race the main factor in your decisions??....
YOU AINT SEEN FECES YET!!
Joe Lowery's Comments
I thought exactly the same thing when I heard Joe's prayer yesterday. Aren't we trying to become better than we were upto today? Aren't we striving to be equal, without predjudice? Why not, "That white's all right"? Why cut down one segment of America while promoting others? I understand that he was pulling out all the old sayings he could find, but he should have thought better than to cut down whites and emplore the continuation of class warfare. Too bad Joe, it could have been much more.
I understand the actually speach was written to say "and when white will embrace what is Wright"
In addition, just what we need, toilet humor at an inauguration. But I always thought it was "when it's brown, flush it down, when it's yellow let it mellow."
