As if we didn't have enough to talk about when it comes to this Democrat dream scheme .. otherwise known as the economic stimulus bill .. a top Republican Congressional official is claiming that illegal aliens would be eligible for the stimulus.

Part of the stimulus includes tax credits of $500 per worker and $1,000 per couple. But in order to receive these tax credits, you don't need a social security number. All you need is an individual taxpayer identification number in order to qualify.

According to Jamie Dupree, "millions of Americans who don't make enough money to pay federal income taxes could file returns next year and receive checks." Well of course! That's the point! This is a welfare program; a brand new entitlement program. You think this is just part of a one-time stimulus program? Hardly. Just how in the world do you think these Democrats are going to go back to their voters and tell them that their $1000 check was only a one-time deal. Not gonna happen. This $1000 welfare check is going to become a permanent part of our annual federal budget. What's more, every time an election comes around the Democrats are going to promise to increase the size of this phony "tax cut" while warning the voters that if they vote for evil Republicans they'll take that money away.

We're screwed.

  • When will it end, you ask?
    I'm with Joe Shmoe. If we keep going down this road, it can only end violently. The actions of this administration in just its first ten days are the kinds of things that, two hundred years ago, would have been the catalyst for a revolution (and, scarcely 150 years ago, the cause of secession). Unfortunately, nowadays that's only wishful thinking. As for me and my house, we will be ready when those who love liberty are ready to rise up and take our nation back.

    I agree with JD.. time for that strike! I often see a car on the ride home up I-85.. some truly enlightened individual has written on his back window "WHERE is John Galt". Maybe he's onto something... time to start a movement!

  • Stimulus to benfit all
    Ever feel like you are the only sober person at a party where everyone else is stoned? As I discussed elsewhere in a different post - I was attacked at lunch today for being the only Republican defending capitalism and free markets. You can easily guess who everyone else voted for. They see absolutely nothing wrong with congress trying to fix things....and forget trying to discuss universal health care...they can't wait to see a more equitable division of medical care. Blame rested on the rich drug companies, rich auto makers, rich (and greedy) banks, etc. Who are these people??

  • Contact your Senators
    Let's have some action here. I know you people can operate a computer, so do a Google search for your State senators, click on the contact icon and tell them what you think about this horrible bill. If your Senators are Republican, beg them not to enter into any kind of "Gang of 14" compromise with the Democrats. If this bill passes the Senate it must belong completely to the Democrats because it will destroy what remains of our economy. Don't think about. Do it now. Please

  • Take Back Jobs
    With the jobless rate increasing rapidly, it would appear that many jobs currently held by illegals could be done by many of the unemployed, thereby sending a message that it's time for the illegals to pack their bags and head home. Then again, I suppose this is too much common sense, especially when I hear that quote you have on the radio saying something like, "can't make my car payment, can't pay the rent, Obama will fix it."

    "All you need is an individual taxpayer identification number in order to qualify."

    Just to make this perfectly clear: US citizens CANNOT get an "individual taxpayer identification number" - so those getting the handout via a Tax ID# are are NOT citizens.

    (With income tax looming, I learned this because I can't get a $1000 tax deduction for my baby without a Tax ID# or SSN. I don't want to enroll her in the confiscatory Social Security system, but since she's a citizen she can't get a Tax ID#, and without a SSN I can't take the deduction. The Social Security website insists a SSN is purely voluntary, but fact is _not_ getting her one will cost me about $20,000 via non-refunded payroll deductions. This is a viciously screwed up system ... but I digress.)
