A TYPICAL AMERICAN

By now I am sure you are tired of me ranting about celebrity worship and celebrity culture. The fact that the average American has no concept of how we are being robbed at this very moment .. there are thieves in your living room, stealing the future of your children and grandchildren. Obviously I am referring to this economic stimulus bill. And I would say the average American has absolutely no idea what we are getting ourselves into. The average American doesn't know that this bill is going to double the amount of federal spending on education. This bill claims it is going to "create jobs" by building Frisbee golf courses and dog parks and preventing STDs.

But Barack Obama and the Democrats say that we must pass this bill and we must pass it now. Obama said, "We don't have a moment to spare." And the reason why they are so anxious to pass it so quickly is for two reasons .. the longer it lingers out there, the longer people have to comb through it and realize that this is nothing but a giant pork spending bill. And the politicians want to do it before the Super Bowl when most Americans are worried about what type of dip to serve on Super Bowl Sunday than the future of their families.

Here is a viewer comment from CNN's website that illustrates the average intelligence level of an American .. maybe I am even being too generous.

This is from Coherent1:

Has anyone really read the stimulus plan? How could anyone say what's in it and what's not. This plan will need a healthy combination of spending and job creation. That tax thingy will on work for a few, however, how are you going to reduce in taxes for the now over 81,000 people laid off over the last couple of days? I'll bet cutting those taxes will help them get jobs! NOT! It has to be well rounded, maybe even include some of the Republicans tax cuts (for those with jobs).

So .. this ignoranus doesn't understand how cutting business taxes can allow businesses to invest more capital in business expansion and thus job creation? Here is yet another fool educated by government ... and going through life without one ounce of understand for the free market economy.

At the end of the road this all comes down to government education. There's a reason why Americans are so ignorant ... and you must wonder if this was all intentional.

» Please Fight the Stimulus Package from It's My Blog

All I'm asking is that people read the stimulus bill and find out exactly what the money is being spent on. If you don't have time to read the entire thing, then just go and look through this online database of the projects included in the bill. Americ... Read More

    Ignoranus. I love it!
  • public edcutation
You can fool some of the people all of the time and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can fool all of the"gov. educated" people all of the time. Well,I must be off, I got a frisbee golf tee time in ten minutes, thank you lord obama.
  • Dumbing Down of Education
John Taylor Gatto's "Weapons of Mass Instruction" is a more up to date version of what has and is happening with the American Education system. Scary stuff children!
  • Expand business?
    Neal,

Why would businesses expand when demand is down, not up?

It would seem to me you need to do both. Increase demand and then make it real easy for business to expand which then drives more money into the economy, and so and and so forth.

But, just cutting taxes for business when no one is buying is like pouring good money over bad.
  • Layoffs
Wonder how many people have lost their jobs since January 22nd? How many since November 4th? And how many of these laidoff folks voted for The One?

  • Exploiting The "Evil Rich"
You know if the average American idiot says all rich people are evil, how do you expect them to figure out personal responsibility, much less this BS stimulus package.
  • ONCE AGAIN ... BLAME IT ON GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS
It seems the government schools have dropped it's economic classes in it's curriculum.
  • thieves in our living rooms
    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Tim%203&version=31;

The whole passage makes me think of the modern "American" media and how easily our minds can be affected by them.
  • Congress loves crisis!
Congress did the same thing with the PATRIOT Act and other bills right after 9/11. Hundreds of Billions have been wasted under the guise of "protecting us from terrorists".
That's how you control a populace: make them feel afraid and make them believe you actually have THE solution.
  • Grammar Police
Grammar police, how right you are! But I have to take issue with your "30-40 minutes" to proof read this page, all it would take is to have SOMEONE read it ONE time! It's the worst I have EVER seen, and no excuse for it.
  • Haste
The urgency with which the Dems want to pass this pork bill is reminiscent of the haste with which they wanted to pass the TAR bill - God forbid any thought should be put into exactly what needs to be done with the money, or structures put in place the ensure the money is used as intended. And Neal is right, this time they don't want anyone reading the bill and reporting that almost ALL of this is pork spending, and much of it won't even be spent until 2010 or 2011, which won't do a thing to help the current recession. I say let's just give Americans an income tax holiday until we can get the proper structures in place for the Fair Tax. The will boost the economy IMMEDIATELY, get Americans used to being able to keep their ENTIRE paychecks and probably cost less in the long run than all of these pork proposals.
  • Seriously?
Neal, the guy you quoted from CNN sounds like a dolt, but for you to say he's "going through life without one ounce of understand for the free market economy" made me cringe. One ounce of understand? "Understanding" maybe? I just created a job: Nuze proofreader. I went to public school, and e-mails I send to one person have better grammar than what gets posted here for thousands to read. I love your show, but it's hard to agree with your bashing of government schools after reading errors like this. It shouldn't take more than 30 or 40 minutes to properly proof this page each day. It would be time well spent.
  • Mad
    Neal,

What am I supposed to do? I am mad as Hell about this spending. I am a Conservative. I joined Herman Cain's thinkers group and have E-mailed my Senators and Congressman twice. They don't even bother responding anymore. So really what else am I suppose to do? Influence other people, yeah right. I have about as much charm as a dead rhinoceroses.
  • You misread it, Neal.
Coherent1 was saying that the tax cuts in the bill (the ones for the poor) won't help unemployed folks gets new jobs. He was supporting a more level apporach, across-the-board.
  • Disc Golf Course
I wish everyone would stop harping on the "Frisbee golf" provisions in the stimulus package (it's "Disc Golf" btw). I play disc golf in Austin quite regularly, and I can tell you one thing: we definitely need more disc golf courses. I've played at 8 different courses in Austin, and we need another one because I'm getting bored playing the ones we already have. Besides, we need it to stimulate the economy - every time go out to play disc golf, I buy a 12-pack of Miller Lite. If I don't have disc golf to play, I might only buy a 6-pack. And this disc golf course in the stimulus package is a 36-hole course! That's at least another 6 beers I can consume while playing. Not to mention that I have to buy a new disc every now and then when I lose one. If I'm not playing disc golf, then I'm not losing discs, which means less money spent on new discs. So please stop talking about the $886,000 to build a new disc golf course in Austin. I pay my taxes so I'm entitled to one more course!
  • GIve me the $$$
How about giving the people the money instead of businesses, and we can pay for stuff. THat might stimulate the economy.
  • cutting corporate taxes
We have to operate our company on a shoestring because of crushing 42%corporate taxes on profits. The only way to grow the business is to take on more debt.
  • Government Education
"The Underground History of American Education," by John Taylor Gatto, is an interesting read for those who can't believe that the massification and dumbification of the American population was unintentional.
  • Coherent1
Sadly, they have closed off comments on the blog. I guess they were tired of having their a$$e$ handed to them by people who can think critically....
