WELL THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG

The day before Thanksgiving I got on the air and ranted for four and a half hours about Florida Gulf Coast University and its decision to ban Christmas from campus.  Cristina spent the entire show trying to get the president of the University, Wilson Bradshaw, on the air to discuss his asinine decision.  His calendar was "completely booked."  Yeah ... I'll just bet.  Everyone completely books their calendar the day before Thanksgiving.

But wait!  It turns out that Bradshaw's calendar was indeed booked - he was busy drafting a new press release to reverse his decision to ban Christmas from campus.  By Wednesday afternoon, Bradshaw had a change of heart.  He says that he changed his mind due to the "overwhelming negative response."  Gee, ya think?  Don't you just hate it when some SAWB talk show host picks up on your absurd politically correct machinations?

Anyway, I figured that you would be happy to know that some sanity has been restored to the campus of Gulf Coast University.  Although, it shouldn't take a national talk show and the national media to point out the idiocy of the original plan.

What others are saying

  • Christmas
All right Mr. Bradshaw, on the 25th of December it is --- now lets all say it together ---- CHRISTMAS!
  • Offended?
If I go to India, I have to endure all of their holidays (which are a lot). If I go to NY Lower East side, I have to endure Jewish holidays. If I'm in Oregon, I will be experiencing Muslim Holidays. If I'm In San Francisco, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Thais, and the "Ken without Barbie" holiday parties are a must.

So, Christmas is the only celebration that offends? Since when? Is Shiva, the goddess with the Elephant Head, going to deliver my gifts on Dec 24th? Will Aladdin be flying his carpet that night to put some joy under my kids tree? Sorry, but If I see him, it will be my .22 caliber the one singing Christmas carols. "bang, bang, Diaperhead is no more"

Hey, Peat Moss......are you really Jamie Dupree?? Your comment sounds just like him.
I guess that would mean Neal shouldn't bother? Huh?
  • Was he on drugs???
That was a stupid thing to do. I'm not a fan of Christmas myself and have no problem with calling them Holiday Trees but everyone should be free to practice the way they wish. I would fight for the right of Christians to worship their way as I would expect them to fight for my right to not!

    Good job everyone.
  • Didn't take long
Great Job Boortz. I'm not a big fan of Christmas, but I don't think they should take it away! People and their God Complexes...
  • Power of the people
This shows the power of talk radio to move people to action.

Talk radio is getting pretty old when the talk show hosts just continuously rant away about what's wrong with this country but never do anything to move their millions of listeners into action.

We all want to do something to make things right in this country, but we don't always know what to do, and even when we do know, we realize that as one person we can't make a difference in anything.

But when a major talk show host tells us what the problem is and then tells us what we can do about it, to-day, things get done, like this Christmas decorations idiot. Savage and Boortz are the only two I know who actually do this, and they need to do a lot more of it, as do the other talk show hosts.

We need to be doing things like this every single day. Keep telling us the problems, and keep giving us a specific call to action (like, "e-mail this guy!") and things WILL change.
  • WELL THAT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
This story was covered by many different news sources, not just Neal.
  • This is good news indeed!
It is good that Bradshaw changed his policy. Amazing how people like Boortz, Hannity, and Rush can change the minds of people.
