UN PUSHING GLOBAL WARMING SCAM EVEN HARDER

It's been a while since we have agitated all you global warmers out there. In case you all didn't know, the UN is having a little climate conference in Poland right now. And an Associated Press report from Poland says, "Scientists studying the changing nature of the Earth's climate say they have completed one crucial task -- proving beyond a doubt that global warming is real. Now they have to figure out just what to do about it."

Aren't you thrilled? The UN has figured it out! The debate is over! And right now more than 10,000 UN delegates and environmentalists are sitting in Poland and working out the kinks of their plans to cap greenhouse emissions around the world. They are itching at the chance to make the evil rich countries pay up.

Let's look at the weather map. It snowed yesterday in Houston, Texas. The temperature in Siberia was around 80 degrees below zero. Southern California is headed for record low temperatures with snow in some LA suburbs. The Earth hasn't warmed a bit in the last eight years. In fact, it has been cooling slightly. The ocean waters off California are cooling. In the midst of all of this the United Nations is now telling us that it has been absolutely proven that man is causing global warming and that we must act right now to stop it or 30% of all plant and animal life on earth will perish.

Lawrence E. Buja is a climate change researcher from Boulder, Colorado. He says, "The skeptics are doing a good job because they are making us present ironclad proof." Ok .. what proof? Please show me the direct link between human activity and global warming. Please explain to me how a recent study showing that the sun was responsible for half of the warming in the recent decades is incorrect. Please tell me how the world can be warming when 2008 is set to be the coolest year of the decade. Please tell me why the Antarctic ice caps are actually growing.

Proven? Proven how? With computer models. Not with actual scientific testing and fact, but with models ... computer models programmed by humans with or without biases who can insert or leave out data as they see fit.

Then that leads me to this ... a US Senate Minority Report is about to be released. It contains testimony from over 650 scientists (note that they are all scientists and not just ENVIRONMENTALISTS) who are criticizing the man-made climate claims of this UN conference.

But it won't really matter. According to the powers that be, the debate is closed. But just remember that it isn't based on the science, it is based on a need to redistribute the wealth throughout the world - make the richer nations pay for their evil emissions.

Why go through all this trouble? Because if the UN can convince the world that man (more specifically, Americans) are endangering the rest of the world then the UN can embark on a program of weakening the American economy - and us - while strengthening the third world at our expense. This about control and power, it is not about saving the Earth. There was a reason that the Kyoto Treaty left out nations like China while punishing the economies of the United States. This whole scam may not really be on your radio screen right now ... but the time is coming when you will really need to pay some close attention.

What others are saying

  • Global warming
Why have 650 noted minds said it is all a man made hoax ?
One is the firts women PHD.retired NASA brain.
Gee, does it get any better?
  • I was worried in the 70's about a new ice age
That was all the big worries back then. Read the noval Fallen Angels (Mass Market Paperback)
by Larry Niven (Author), Jerry Pournelle (Author), Michael Flynn (Author) Put another log on the fire :) and Neal, it aint a large book, read it. I am positive ya will like it. And next time your around Austin TX, skip the bbq joints and come see me.

  • Global Warming Positives
If AGW were real, it seems to me that there would be some positives. Like, longer growing seasons, and warmer temps at higher latitudes, would mean more crops, thus more food to feed the multitudes of people. Also, more CO2 would be good for plant life, and plants would flourish. With this would come increased animal life. Just ask yourself, which has more bio-diversity, Canada or Brazil? Enough said.

I keep hearing how intelligent P.E.B.O. is, and how dumb G.W.B. is. George has at least been skeptical of AGW, while Barry has bought the entire fantasy. So, who's intelligent now?
  • Global Warming is real!
If you need further proof that global warming is real, turn on the news and look at poor New Orleans. Snow in New Orleans is proof positive that global warming is real. What is wrong with Neal and why does he deny this fact?
  • "man made" global warming
I'm an electrician in the service side of the trade. I've learned to see more than symptoms, but possible causes. If you look at the past temperature spikes, you'll notice there are equally drastic temperature drops, all at about the temperature we were at several years ago, before our current temperature drop began. When I pointed this out to a meteorologist with a PhD, and asked what the trigger was in the past, and where we are today in relation to that trigger, he responded by telling me not to worry about another ice age, this is only temporary, and the temperatures will soon resume their rise unless we change our habits. I took his response to be political speak for "no one has ever noticed that, and no one really wants to know because it may not help us". So much for being true scientists at www.wunderground.com.
  • Inconvenient Goof
It's not that conservatives don't think about consevring natural resources or preserving natural beauty. It's a matter of not trying to dictate to our country or any other country that we all have to fall in lockstep with Al Gore and others who believe in'GW' or 'CC'. There is no concensus on whatever the nom du jour is for whatever we are supposedly doing to the environment. Al Gore beat out a Polish woman for the Nobel Prize. What did she do? She helped save hundreds of Jews from Nazi death camps. But since Al is trying to save the Polar Bears and he outspent the woman's PR dept., he got the Prize. Instant credibility...not with me. Probably not with the Polar Bears either. It's not science when directors and editors resort to adding clips of Polar Bears traversing ice floes. Laurie David is not a scientist. Al Gore has a degree in Law, does he not? Is it hard to understand why so many rational, logical thinkers don't take it seriously? Or am I talking way over the heads of the people who think the rest of us are the problem?
  • Relocate the UN
I want the UN relocated to Haiti. Most members will feel more at home and Haiti could use the economic stimulus. The sooner the better. Or better yet the US quit the UN entirely and tell them to get the hell out.
  • Mark's Comment
    Mark,

You don't hear conservatives advocating more pollution. You don't hear conservatives being against alternative and renewable energy sources. What you do hear conservatives say is that the government cannot do it without screwing it up. Can you name 1 thing government does really well other than relieve you of your money and freedoms?

Conservatives believe in responsible use of resources. Conservatives also believe that the free market will provide a solution when a solution is warranted. It might not be when you think it should be, but it will when true demand dictates and not before.

The current economic crisis is the result of government interference to an unprecendented degree in free market activities.

Take heart that the free human spirit will prevail.
  • AGW
Although I've never closely studied atmospheric phenomena, I have a scientific background, and it has led me to question the results of the previous UN IPCC report. I've concluded that NO ONE has a firm understanding of the issue, and that there is absolutely zero measurable proof that, if the climate is drastically changing, man had anything to do with it. Also, contrary to the claims of Mr. Gore, the issue is most assuredly NOT settled, and that atmospheric scientists have not developed a consensus, as evidenced by the link cited in Boortz News.

The principal reason that this topic has my interest is, that being the cheap guy that I am, I can't see spending our increasingly scarce dollars to change something that can't be changed (Do we really know even that we should?). Personally, as laymen, we don't really know what's happening. But I do know that this has become something that it shouldn't be -- a political issue. We hear many conclusions and forecasts of dire consequences drawn by politicians and the media (also laymen), but the people who really have the background to understand, DO NOT AGREE. The people of this World are being misled by self-serving politicians and an ignorant media.

Next year, the bills from my power company are due to increase by 30%, basically due to rising fuel costs. The further increased costs to consumers for adding "carbon capture" technology to power plants has been estimated to double the cost of electricity. I don't know about you, but I sure would like to know that there is a real reason for this extra rise in my electric bills.

Supporters of the climate change theories say that these price increases will goad the public toward more demands for "greener" supplemental sources. But power industry insiders say that within the next 20 years, the very best that supplemental generation sources will be able to provide is 20% of total capacity. The remaining capacity must come from natural gas, nuclear, and coal (our nation's #1 resource). At the current time, the World just doesn't have the infrastructure or the technology to supplant our baseload capacity fuels with anything else. To impede the construction of new power plants, that necessarily must be based on current technologies, is to lead to a future of potential blackouts.

I hope that we can all agree on one thing; that this issue should be among those paramount in our minds, and one that should not be left to politicians and media. I understand the concerns of the "greens," and I concur, probably to a lesser degree. But with the current economic conditions, we are now beginning to view the consequences of poor economic decisions. So now the decision must be: Do we go "all out" to save the environment from a questionable problem, or do we go "all out" to save our economy that is unquestionably in trouble? I don't believe that we can do both.
  • Double Government
For those that would like to see the UN laws have authority in the U.S. a word of warning ... with all this bailout BS going on and our politicians showing just how much they care about our country by bankrupting it, don't you think that one corrupt government is enough for any country?
  • Frying and Freezing
This whole "climate change" thing is just a crock. Hey, I live in Canada, and it sure ain't gettin' any warmer up here! Heck I wish there WAS global warming! I don't care if Mexico fries, any more than they care if I freeze.

Damned snow flying around up here, gotta shovel it all out, trudge through it, freezing rain making it difficult to drive causing accidents, salt all over the roads rusting out my car, higher heating costs and expensive winter clothes...I wish it'd warm the hell up so we don't have to deal with all that crap!! Winter and snow is expensive and annoying! I'd trade a sleighride for a splash on a beach (where the scenery is better too... bikinis look a lot more appetizing than parkas!) any day.

Snow is proof positive that manure is not always brown.

    "Climate Change" my @$$.
  • When snow falls in Baghdad
I was a Marine serving in Iraq Nov, 2007 - May, 2008 when snow fell from the skies.

    -Jan 11th 2008

"For the first time in my life I saw a snow-rain like this falling in Baghdad," said Mohammed Abdul-Hussein, a 63-year-old retiree from the New Baghdad area.

"When I was young, I heard from my father that such rain had fallen in the early '40s on the outskirts of northern Baghdad," Abdul-Hussein said, referring to snow as a type of rain. "But snow falling in Baghdad in such a magnificent scene was beyond my imagination."

    -AP

    Global Warming? HA!
  • To echo Playboy from earlier...
I actually had the opportunity to work as an intern to one of the scientists at NASA's LaRC facility who works on developing the computer models for things like intercontinental pollution transport, aerosol-gas interaction, etc. Now, even though I was just essentially a code monkey for optimizing calculations, what I discovered is that there isn't a whole lot of data out there specifically for pollution, aerosols, and greenhouse gases. Actual in-situ validation flights are really expensive, NASA will maybe pay for one a a year (or every couple of years). Most of the models show slight statistical correlation to human activity and the overall earth temperature, but it's the kind of thing where you might only be 30% sure that human influence is the driving factor. It's the kind of thing worth researching, and monitoring, but isn't some sure-fire crisis of impending doom. Of course, one of the reasons you're going to hear many scientists talk about how certain GW is, is because their whole life revolves around this research. For the people who think they've got something figured out, they're going to defend it tooth and nail (after all, who would want to admit that they've been wrong for years?).
  • The Devil is in the Details
I used to be a graduate atmospheric science student before I tired of the GW rhetoric spouted by my profs.
The fact is, we need MORE DATA. The data simply isn't RELIABLE before 1960 or so. What this means is we are using GOOD data for the last 50 years and "so so" data prior to that. Even a 1 degree error would debunk all analysis done prior to 1960. 50 years IS NOT ENOUGH DATA to use for modeling, so they use the "so so...maybe bad" data. Hence...there is absolutely NO WAY this debate could be over. Furthermore, the parameters used in the models are not entirely known either NOR are all the direct and indirect variables associated with different atmospheric particles (clouds and cloud particles, condensation nuclie, etc...)

We might as well stop Volcanoes. Can't we just all continue our terrific technological advancement and eventually we'll have cleaner sources of energy anyway. What the hell do these people want???? We can't starve while developing technology PEOPLE!!!
  • Global Warming
I am always amazed when these global warming nutjobs use computer models to predict the future. With computers they can't tell me with any certainty what the weather will be like 10 days from now much less 10 years! Pretty pathetic.
  • to Chris The Graphic Designer
    Couldn't agree with you more!

Not sure what the two have to do with each other. But, I agree with you.

So wow, like we both agree that it's more important to focus on the things that will move us away from pollution and non-renewable energy rather than the politics of whether GW is fact or fiction and that oppression of ideas is bad regardless of the idea and all should be allowed to be freely expressed - especially in a collegial environment.

Awesome - who would have thought - Boortz bringing people together. :-)
  • Global Shmobal
C'mon, we all know that any time some entity (U.N.) created by any government has anything to do with it, it's going to be a dog and pony show. Hell, were probably headed for another ice age instead.
I think, as the largest species of polluters, killing off ocean reefs etc., we'd be better served to concentrating on making sure our oceans will be able to provide food for our children and grandchildren.
Oh, by the way folks, it's NEVER about the MONEY.
  • fixing the climate, now that is delusional
I find either the right or left thinking they can fix the climate is truly delusional thinking to the maximum, guess the one thing I cannot agree with left or right is fixing something as huge as the earths climate just might not be possible, leave that to god! I am sure that will anger the left, right, middle, since to much crying is done on this climate issue, since nothing exists today which can change nature, something as large as world climate is beyond any one nations ability, and even if you could get the entire world nations together on one agreed upon solution, none exists, delusional thinking is that one can fix the earths climate like a car engine, electric motor, computer, just not possible with todays technology, hate to bust anyones fix it mentality, but this issue is worthless in arguing on either side of the political spectrum, but Neal Boortz does have to continue his self enrichment agenda, and this is his business, jin up the cry baby fan base he has, to some issue, get them crying, the right wing blues, try to jin up their hate, blame game, it really does keep him laughing all the way to the bank! Neal Boortz reminds me of the old time "snake oil salesman", he has a good game, but one day it will run out and run its course, I believe Oreilly has seen the writing on the wall, that is why Boortz has been attacking his fellow 104.1 FM buddy lately, Oreilly has a day job on fox, and Boortz and company only get invited occassionally to entertain the masses, Boortz might think of a day job, since I am sure his hey day on welfare radio is coming to a close!
  • Global Warming
Global warming proves liberals are full of themselves. The idea man causes even a percentage of what a single volcano can produce in atmospheric heating is absurd. Volcanic eruptions created the earth as well as every natural resource and oxygenated air. Pretty arrogant of those liberals, humans should start creating a whole new earth if this global warming idea is true.

My idea: the UN should impose Active Earth Sanctions (AES) on all volcanic territories to combat global warming. There is a big ring called the ring of fire and it covers about half the globe, it may generate considerable revenue. There maybe some poor countries with dictators in the ring, but the point they picked to live on the earth is causing the ocean levels to rise. It sounds “fair” to me and more logical than any of those hairbained ideas produced by the UN. And too boot AES will cause a trip to Hawaii to become so expensive even Neal will not be able to afford one.
  • Global Warming
Computer models said the mortgage market was a safe investment too....More academia out of touch with reality.
  • To: Weird Mark
    Yeah I totally agree.

I also don't understand why liberals hate free speech on campus so much too. I mean isn't free speech supposed to be hip and cool? Why so much suppression of objective, conservative ideas? Never mind the laundry list of speech codes.

Geesh, isn't diversity a good thing? Maybe diversity isn't cool after all?
  • It's not about the Environment
    It's about control
  • Global Warming
They HAVE to do something about it now, because very soon, they will have to admit that the earth is NOT warming.

If they can do something significant BEFORE the world starts to cool, then they can claim RESPONSIBILITY and demand that we continue to dance to their tune.

They know they must act fast.
  • Boortz's argument is sooo Y2K
This issue isn't just about "global warming" anymore. Its about the aborigines wanting to live in the equivalent of Big Oaks Lane, USA...you can't stop them as they gain the economic resources...but how do you provide energy to the 60% of the world that don't use it now...? Dunderhead Boortz is arguing a case from 8 years ago.
  • Pseudo-Sciences stink!
I am excited to hear that legitimate scientists are taking a stand against “global warming” (climate change, which ever you prefer) crowd. When this all comes to an end, and it is proved that global warming is a farce, true scientists are the ones that are going to take the fall for the mass hysteria. The people that pushed this pseudo-science on the world will be the first to point their fingers at the legitimate scientist.

650 Scientists is a great start. Hopefully soon more scientists will get on board with this.
  • Something is wrong
I dont really care if it is global warming, global cooling, seasons shifting, or anything else. If there is something wrong w/ the environment and we already know the causes, then they should worry more about trying to fix it rather than having conferences every week.
  • UN BS
This is why global warming has gotten it's sea legs: An organization like the UN with lots of money and a mission. The mission sounds admirable on the surface, save the planet from greenhouse gases that will eventually destroy the planetthen fining countries that don't follow protocal. But, beware the hidden agenda ... to extort every dime out of "evil rich" countries it possibly can and "unfortunantly" getting lost in this "mission" are the politics, extortion, half truths and flat out lies such as an attempt to destroy capitalism throughout the world in the name of redistribution of wealth. Gee, that sounds familar.
  • Antarctic Ice Caps
Of course it will be six months or so before the Dims trumpet this information, then they'll give ObamaNation the credit. Just watch.
  • snowing in southern Louisana right now
It just came across the news its snowing in southern Louisana, guess that is par for the course for the believers that climate is constant, it really does not matter whether man causes it or nature naturally does, since any intelligent human being knows climate changes, it really is unimportant whom or what causes it, since no man made technology exists which can stop it, its the one thing I admit the left is "cry baby about' crying constantly on something god has total control over and mankind has none! As much as I hate to admit anything the right wingers say is true, its likely just a natural normal event, caused by nature, god if you will.
  • weird
I say if you think GW is a joke and false science - great! fine! It doesn't exist - done. Happy?

Now can we get to work building a green economy focused on conservation and sustainable resources?

I just don't get why so many conservatives are opposed to conservation.

Why are we even having this conversation? Even if GW turns out not to be true - why wouldn't we want to focus more on renewable clean energy resources? Why wouldn't we want to pollute less?
  • Global warming is our biggest issue?
It ticks me off to no end that the UN is even debating this right now. There are countries and groups the want us and other countries dead and will use any means possible. Like that new report of a biological or nuclear weapons being used on us being "likely" to happen in five years. Why is the UN not doing more to stop terrorism? "Climate change" has not killed anyone yet i am certain. Good grief.
  • Two Questions
    1. Why is the UN still "in power?" Maybe the money they get from us, or any other "evil rich" nation, should be given under the pretense of supporting special needs programs.

    2. Isn't this also Bush's fault?
  • Let's get some facts out of the way on AWG..
..ince, as John Adams said, "facts are stubborn things." The moonbat global warming scaremongers will just love these:

    1) Average annual temperatures have not surpassed 1998 (NOAA) (University of Alabama)

    2) Average annual temperatures are now trending downward since 1998
    (NOAA & University of Alabama).

    3) Ocean temperatures have not risen since 2000 when the 3000 Argo buoys
were launched. The buoys even show a slight decrease in ocean temperatures.

    4) The Arctic ice froze to February levels by December 07, there are 1mm
more sq km than before (previous was 13mm sq km).

    5) The Arctic ice is 20cm thicker than "normal" (whatever that is defined by whoever).

    6) All polar bear pods are stable or growing (NOAA/PBS).

    7) Mount Kilimanjaro is not melting because of global warming, rather
    "sublimation".

    8) The Antarctic is not "melting", it is growing in most places, the
sloughing off at the edges is normal as the ice mass grows.

    9) The majority of the Antarctic is 8 degrees below "normal" (again,
    whatever that is).

    10) The coveted .7 degree rise in temperatures over the last 100 years
has been wiped out with last years below "normal" temperatures (NOAA
    coolest winter since 2001).

    11) Al Gores film was just deemed "propaganda" in a court of law in the
UK as many points could not be substantiated by scientists.

    12) It was also just reveled that some of the footage in Als film was
CGI. The ice shelf collapse was from the movie The Day After Tomorrow (ABC).

    13) One of the scientists that originally thought that CO2 preceded the
warming has now found with new data that the CO2 rise follows the
    warming (Dr David Evans).

    14) August 2008 was the first time since 1913 there were no sun spots.

    15) The Medieval Warm Period was warmer than the 20th century (no SUVs then).

    16) Many scientists are now predicting 30 years of cooling.

    17) The greenhouse effect is real, our small contribution to it cannot
    even be measured.

    18) Several publications, including those that are warmist have recently
written that the natural cycles of the earth may mask AGW.

    And then we had this:

From the US Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works:

UN Blowback: More Than 650 International Scientists Dissent Over Man-Made Global Warming Claims
    December 10, 2008

You liberal Dimocrat neo-Stalinist junk science promoters can take your snake oil and go sell it to some third world UN wannabe nation.
  • CO 2
Don't trees and other vegetation make OXYGEN from CO2?
If they keep this up we will have an OXYGEN crisis in a couple years.
  • Houston
The snow is causing chaos here on Houston roads! You know they close major highways here if someone dumps an ice cube on the road. I welcome global warming!
  • Weather vs. climate
My post is neither an attempt to argue for or against the assertion that global warming is a real phenomenon or if so, whether it is manmade.
But, I would like to argue that selectively chosen weather anecdotes do not constitute an argument either for or against global warming. Almost every week on this site, Boortz (or his minions) attempts to debunk "global warming" by citing an instance where a subtropical location had a rare snowfall, or a cold wave broke out somewhere, or snow fell at an unusual time of year. Just as one heat wave or one hurricane does not prove "global warming", neither do a few incidents of cold or snowy weather. On any given day on earth, I can find some city somewhere on this planet that had a record high temperature or a record low temperature for the date. Proper analysis of data to support or refute "global warming" requires a statistical analysis on data collected across multiple decades from all over the world. Those who refute global warming do themselves discredit and hurt their cause when they cite last week's cold wave as "evidence" just as those who "believe" in global warming are off-track when they claim that last year's active hurricane season was attributable to global warming. Analogously, the one high school dropout who became a multimillionare does not by itself argue that it is unwise to obtain a college education. Let's just have some honesty in the "debate".
