Perhaps some of you caught my little conversation with Tony Snow, while he was riding aboard Air Force 1. If not,
listen here. I love Tony, but it seems as though he is drinking the Koolaid when it comes to this bill granting amnesty to millions and millions of criminalsillegal aliens who broke the law and will now, legally, enjoy the benefits of being a U.S. citizen. But .. that's part of his job description.
My question is: why can't we just secure the borders? Secure them. If your home is being inundated with a flood of water, you locate the leak and stop the flow before you begin the cleanup. That's how we should approach the Mexican invasion. Stop the invasion force from sending in reinforcements, and then you can figure out how to deal with the ones already here.
I absolutely do not believe that the Bush administration or anyone in Washington Democrat or Republican is serious about border security. It is a front. We're being conned. We're being appeased. This whole thing is starting to look a lot more like a conquest than a migration. Let's treat it as such.
Oh .. and before we move on, let's talk about assimilation. I notice that the local office of the Hispanic Association has signs out front advertising Spanish lessons. Maybe it's just me, but if assimilation was the goal, wouldn't they be offering English lessons?
