By now I am sure you have heard all of the pomp-and-stance over Barack Obama's three-year federal spending freeze. I hope that even the most politically illiterate of voters can see that they are being conned. Why is that? Because Obama's spending freeze would be less than 3% of the additional $9 trillion the government is expected to accumulate over the next 10 years. What a joke. Consider the list of government spending that is EXEMPT from this freeze:

-Entitlement programs – Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid

-The $787 billion (now $862 billion) in economic stimulus money

-The Democrats' new jobs bill, which will cost anywhere from $80-$154 billion

Michelle Malkin continues the list ... but I think you get the point. The point is that Obama and the Democrats don't get it. Perhaps some Democrats see the size of the federal government as an issue for their re-election campaign, but they genuinely believe that big government is the ultimate solution to our countries problems.

If you will recall, this isn't the first time Obama has insulted us with a move like this. Remember back in April when Obama asked his entire cabinet to cut a whopping $100 million from their budgets? That's $100 million from Obama's $3.6 billion budget. Or about 1/36,000 of the money Obama plans to spend this year.

Silly little political stunts ... and that's all this is – a political stunt … can only boil down to one or two things. First it must show that Obama is extremely out of touch with federal budget/deficit realities. Or he must think that you, America, are ignorant enough to fall for this line of horsesqueeze.
