You figure it out, if you can
Neal why do you continue to give air time to the whiny, blubbering, supposed SFC Ranger? He really has no idea what the US military is about. He's a disgrace to the uniform, and needs to resign.

His mission is defined by the CINC. It is his job to carry out that mission – no blubbering, no whining. No matter what he does, he's not a loser. His mission is to execute the policy, within whatever constraints are imposed.

I am a 1960s VietNam era vet (what about you, Neal?) I saw and experienced the duplicitous and outright lies of the various administrations during the VietNam war. The same kinds of lies have been, and continue to be, given by the current administration to rationalize our initial and ongoing involvement in Iraq. And you, Neal, perpetuate those lies.

If you have any value for the truth (which I doubt), I suggest you and the sergeant read "Fiasco", by Thomas Ricks. From the very beginning the senior command generals of the US military opposed an invasion of Iraq, and when it became obvious bush was going to invade, come hell or high water, the generals pushed for higher troop levels than were advocated by bush/cheney/rumsfeld. The administration did NOT listen to our generals at the beginning; did NOT listen to them after the taking of Baghdad; and did not listen to them ever. When it became obvious the senior military command opposed the policies of the bush administration, bush replaced them with generals and admirals who would rubber-stamp the administrations ideology. That's where we are today.

One thing you, and virtually every other "conservative" pundit, doesn't understand is that there are people, such as I, who completely support our armed forces, yet we don't support the moronic policies of an incompetent administration that would put the lives of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines in harms way for its own personal gratification.

And we are fiercely patriotic Americans.
