I think the Tea Party madness went a little far when it got past the actual demonstrations, but I would be very careful to discredit them entirely. I mean the demonstration it self was not really going to solve any problems, it was simply a symbol of the frustration of the people.

With the media largely not covering anything relevant now days, you DO have to group up and scream in order to get any attention. It is sad, because even then, even after all those people protesting this government spending we the people have gone almost completely ignored by our government. Now that right there should tell you something.

First let me elaborate on how extreme it is to ignore that many people: Well when a congressman gets a phone call/snail mail/email; that contact is supposed to be treated as though it represents a larger portion of the public than just one individual person. It is a rule of thumb that I have heard about. Emails = 10 people, Phone Calls = 50 people, and Written Letters = 100 people (or something like that).

Anyway, I would think that by that standard of guesswork theory, each one of the people out protesting government spending in the middle of a Wednesday, should be counted as 500 to 1000 people for every person that attended.

So taking that into consideration, can you see now how insane it is to mock those people like Pelosi and other Dems/Libs/PPL did. It was/is a legitimate movement, and I know it is not that most effective way, but that is all that we have here. We are talking to a blind and def government that is set in its ways, so if screaming and looking like an idiot is what it is going to take, then I am there!
