It happened 30 years ago. The victim says she would rather the whole matter be dropped. The perpetrator poses no threat to society any more.<br> <br> On one hand, I agree that you don't want to let someone escape justice. On the other hand, with prisons overcrowded and state budgets deep in the red, do we really want to spend taxpayer money on putting this guy away? We're talking tens of thousands of dollars for extradtiion, a trial, and the cost of incarceration.<br> <br> Conservatives cease to be fiscally conservative on issues that matter to them: defense (or, more recently, offense) and prisons.
