I agree with Stan. While it's normally bad to rape a 13 year old, you hate to take into account Polanski's cultural heritage. The entertainment industry is always looser with sex than you rightwing Quakers, so cut him some slack. Also, running from the law for so many years is punishment in itself; especially when you are part of the Hollywood entertainment industry and can't go to Hollywood without some kook throwing you in jail for sex! We need to keep in mind that we need to give artists a little leeway because their thinking is more advanced than typical people and they contribute so much to society.
