Because educating children and keeping them healthy and safe is something the government should never become involved in, because as we all know the free market will do it and if it doesn't the kids obviously deserve to suffer.<br> <br> Oh, wait, that's a load of crap.<br> <br> Or wait, we just need to preserve our sovereignty and our national right to permit child abuse! Showing international solidarity and adhering to universal moral standards is evil and communist.<br> <br> Oh, that's also stupid.<br> <br> I hope he signs the treaty. Only the United States and Somolia (the small government traditional values paradise) have not. <br> <br> However, many of the involved countries flagrantly violate the convention, so the Republicans don't really have to worry about the horrors of available education, healthcare, and safety being forced upon them by the evil UN.
