Charlie,
No, its not Gump, but thanks for the clever connection to that movie/book from the 90's, no one's ever made that one before.

Those items you mentioned, fried chicken, watermelon etc.. are stereotypes. Stereotypes developed by a group of people who have some need to belittle another race due to their perception that the race in question is of an inferior nature. Im sure you could have Chris Rock make this exact same joke, and it would not be considered racist, because of the context in which it was told. You can do as this woman did, and make a crude joke based on the color of one's skin, but that doesn't make you racist, it makes you incognizant of how other people perceive you. What I was getting at, is you can't label someone a racist unless you know their true intent, which we don't in this case.

David Duke is a racist.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are racists.
The dude that shot up the Holocaust Museum is a racist.
This lady is just a stupid secretary with a poor sense of humor.

I tried to make a post that would stir up some critical thinking skills, which I apparently failed to achieve (cant win em all). Im not defending this person because she is a Republican, hell, I voted for Obama (only because I knew Sarah Palin would be a greater disaster for this country and there was no real conservative anywhere to be had). I do concede that her joke was racial in nature, but to call it racist is to assume her real intent, and without that knowledge, are you not guilty of prejudice yourself?

For the record, I'm Elmer's glue white, but I don't get offended each time someone comments about how blinding I am when I wear shorts. I also don't get offended when someone tells me to go eat a mayo sandwich, I laugh. Considering Im about to be a minority, should I feel more defensive about issues surrounding whities?
....Nah, I've got bills to pay.
