Vlad wanted to know when in the last 100 years that protests have worked. Hmmm... Let's see
1)Lech Walesa and the Polish Workers' Revolt, which began a domino effect on the entire Soviet empire, Berlin, etc.
2)Women's Suffrage Movement, which gave women the vote, as well as the Women's Rights Movement 50 years later which gave equal opportunities to women.
3)Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
4)The Anti-War protests in the 60s.
5) The end of apartheid in South Africa.
6) AIDS marches increased public awareness and spending to find a disease

I could go on, but I think you get my point. My question to Vlad is when has MASS protests NOT led to change?

The Tea Party is not silly. It's going to change this country, and this change is being created by the people, not a PR agency on Madison Avenue. Oh, and Congress IS noticing the tea bags, even though they won't tell you in the press. It is only the first step in a long process. It's like the kick-off in a football game. Next play - 4.15.09.
