Leave it alone. I doubt it will work. But if it does, so what? The genii is out of the bottle. Pandora has opened her box. (Take whichever you prefer.)

We cannot un-invent ballistic missiles. As the technological abilities of people around the world increase, more and more nations will be able to build more and more sophisticated weapons. We are not going to be able to stop that from happening. Instead, we need to function in a world where people we don't like have missiles that can hit the US -- some of which may be tipped with nuclear weapons.

We've dealt with it before, but somehow we weren't all that offended by Soviet missiles. Perhaps it was because the USSR was a large country. It's easy to treat large countries with respect. But we're used to treating countries like North Korea as insignificant little piss ants. That's going to have to change.

The way to deal with the world that is coming is to bring our troops home, mind our own business, and be prepared to obliterate any country that attacks the US. If we do that, we'll get along fine.
